Stacey Lawson and Paul Fields are not only delighted but thoroughly excited to announce the opening of their restaurant. Stacey and Paul sensed something was missing from the Lincoln dining experience. Paul had always had a passion to open up an independent restaurant and as a local girl Stacey recognised that although Lincoln is a historical City and a very dynamic and growing City, there was a clear need for a relaxed restaurant experience that combined history with modernity.

Saturday lunch menu only available, therefore intended the 3 courses for £25, however we just had the 2 courses for £21 because the first two were poor. We both had the scotch egg starter of which wasn’t cooked, ( not sure how a restaurant can make this mistake as M&S can supply in a packet that are perfect every time when cooked at home). I made the waitress aware, and they did offer to exchange however I prefer to eat at the same time as my partner, the whole point of going to a restaurant, so declined. I had the beef Ragu for main which was poor, a Ragu is supposed to have a rich sauce, but this was thin and lacking in taste, it looked like a Heinz soup on a bed of rigatoni. The waitress asked if everything was ok, but I looked at her with disappointment and declined to comment. We left pretty promptly and paid the bill of £42, never to return.

Lovely restaurant. Food and service exceptional and lunch menu great value. Only downside was our proximity to a very loud table of 8 making it unable to have a conversation. Obviously not the fault of the restaurant!! Will return

My food here was great - chicken liver parfait, followed by a beautifully cooked shank of lamb. Two things that let it down were the poor selection of beers - no draught ales - and the service. The latter didn’t seem to owe to a lack of staff, either; just staff who were seemingly not attuned to their customers’ expectations (like taking drinks orders, for example). But I couldn’t fault the food.
