Showed up for our reservation and the restaurant was CLOSED! Nobody called or notified us that they lost their lease. Then I just got a seated confirmation from Open Table. No Open Table-we were NOT seated.

Had 6:15 reservation to make 7:30 show across street at MSG. Were not seated until we complained that others were being seated ahead of us. Were served the appetizer and then waited over a half hour and still no entrees. Waiter said he had been checking for 20 minutes and the chefs response was "it will be ready when its ready". Finally walked out without having our dinner. Finally had to buy dinner and eat standing in the arena. This was an unpleasant way to start our night out.

Place was way too loud, they tried to seat us at a communal bar table and i had to beg for a real table. Our pizzas were cold and very average and worst of all they didnt bring our beer and wine until we were almost done with dinner! It was crazy!

Everything was great until dessert time- our server was socializing with another server and someone else saw us looking around and offered to take our dessert order. Then we had to request our check twice. Since we were on our way to see Billy Joel, time was important. The table next to us had the same problem.

We have been to lugo cucina a number of times ....the meat and cheese platter is always wonderful ....I tried a veal dish and didn’t like that it was fried ....it didn’t say on menu. I would definitely go back but would stick to a pasta dish in the future. Great location. Right near the garden.

We were disappointed in this meal. We ordered a margherita pizza as an appetizer. It arrived with a burned crust - all the way around. We each ate two pieces, not eating the crust, leaving 1/2 the pizza uneaten - a first for us. My husband ordered the oriechette and I got spaghetti with a meatball. He normally loves oriechette but found this bland and not at all to his liking. My spaghetti was okay but nothing special. We opted not to order dessert after just a so-so meal.

I was there last night and have been here many times for office party’s and business lunches the food is always good. However last night they were short staffed and it was obvious. There were 3 servers trying to take care of everyone . Not fair to the servers or clientele. Meatballs that are usually mist and delicious were dry and bland Seabass was good and great value. I will be back get some help for your staff:)

Always go to Lugo Cucina when getting off the LIRR before to our play in the theatre district. After our main course, we can't resist the 3 scoops of any ice cream flavors you like! Food is wonderful, the staff very friendly and service is perfect. The bread, the wine, the main course, the desert - all add up to us coming back time after time. Love the feel of this restaurant - not over crowded at table like other NYC places.

I try to come here anytime I'm attending an event at the Garden, & it's always been enjoyable even when the service was slow as that was usually due to it being busy, which is understandable. Food has always been good. This time though (4/8/19), was easily my least enjoyable experience, & ironically it was the least busy I've seen it. I guess the Pennsy has taken a bit of business away from them. Our server was very aloof, & I was left with an empty drink for 10 minutes before I was able to make contact requesting another. It seems after a misunderstanding where the server was under the impression we were only ordering appetizers, he was no longer attentive at all. Regardless, this isn't an excuse to dismiss a table. He did not return to our table after taking our order (aside from when I initiated contact for a 2nd drink, a wine, which I had to pour myself) until it was clear we were finished w/our appetizers & to ask if we wanted the check. By then, we did not want to spend any more money there, & went elsewhere for dinner. We were a two top that ordered 3 substantial appetizers, & were planning on ordering two more entrees, two more rounds of drinks, & possibly even dessert. Ironically, he tried twice to pick up my credit card slip before I had signed it. I still left an 18+% tip as I typically leave 25+% for good service. The appetizers we did have were good as always, and the back waiters were competent and pleasant. Servers should never give up on a table, as there are always opportunities to take care of their guests, & increase their checks. I will be back as I've mostly had good experiences there. If you haven't tried it, it's still worth a visit. You can't beat the convenience, & if you're looking for a sit down spot as opposed to the chaos over at Pennsy, then give this place a try.

Nice interior, close to MSG. Service was a little bit slow. The bread was a little stale. It was an okay meal but not stellar. Last visit was better. Still a good place to go given closeness to MSGarden and a decent menu. Not a foodie experience

This has been our "go to" spot for events @ MSG. Last Saturday was a disappointment. Food was so bland (chicken, steak and pork chop). Service was poor. Server seemed generally cranky and he kept forgetting things. The whole thing was just "off". Time for a change next time we're in town for an event.

This is a great lunch and dinner spot for all that work and/or visit the Penn Plaza/Station area. There are not many options around and we always make reservations if dinner is the plan. Long waits if you don’t. Some nights there is live music but the extremely loud nature of this after 5 spot makes it almost impossible to benefit from it. Bar is always lively and the food is very good.

The location and service make Lugo Cucina worth going to if you need a restaurant near Penn Station. However, the food is very mediocre. I had eggplant parmigiana which was dry and tasteless. My friend had spaghetti which was overcooked and soft. These are two easy dishes to prepare well. I'd go again but solely for the convenience waiting for a train.

Took two hours for a simple meal. Waited an hour between appetizers and main course. Even then, only 3 of our four meals arrived. The three of us were almost finished when the 4th meal came. The food is good but this place doesn’t know how to manage their kitchen. This has happened before but we gave them another chance. Never again.
