The Keystone fosters a social atmosphere with traditional Bay Area cuisine. Located in the center of San Francisco, the restaurant has a full bar with unique mixed drinks, such as the Skywalker, made of Scotch, honey, lime, Pernod and star anise. Executive Darren Jackson prepares American cuisine with an international influence. The Keystone is a great place for co-workers to meet, friends to socialize and groups to hold parties.
Patrons of The Keystone can enjoy tasty starters such as roasted cauliflower and oysters on the half shell. A bar menu offers burgers, fries, bacon wrapped prawns and wings. Dinner and lunch menus are available, and the restaurant is open Monday to Friday from 11:30 a.m. to midnight. Bar opening at 4:00 pm on weekends.
Enjoyed a terrific meal at the Keystone. We tried the sausage pizza, Caesar salad, ahi tuna and mixed grill. All were delicious. Staff were engaging and attentive. to top it off, we had the Apple Bread Pudding for dessert. What a treat! You will enjoy a visit to the Keystone.
The service was excellent - warm, friendly, knowledgeable. The food was very mediocre.
Everything was rushed while the restaurant was half empty. Main course was slapped on the table while we had just started eating our starters. Waiters were rude and got order wrong. This is not something that you expect from a restaurant like this.
Loved this place. Thoughtful design. Friendly, helpful staff. Great menu variety in both style and price. We popped in and out easily with a reservation and were able to make our theatre showtime down the road at the Orpheum. If you’re worried about noise levels, the bar area seemed much louder than the smaller dining area where we were fortunate enough to be seated.
Fabulous cheeseburger!! The venue and location are great for after a day of shopping or a movie. The menu looks great so I’ll be back!
We had great service and although the menu is very small we were delighted with our mixed grill and bacon wrapped prawns.
Good upscale bar food. Waiter was great.
My husband and I had just arrived into town and were walking around aimlessly trying to find a nice place to eat. We stumbled upon keystone and the service there was the best. They are very friendly. The menu is not incredibly vast however, we ordered and shared the truffle fries, poke and chicken pizza. All were very good.
Siamo stati al Keystone qualche giorno fa. Atmosfera da pub. Ma servizio e cibo da ristorante.
Ottime anche le birre. Cheesburger da favola!! Il migliore del viaggio fino ad ora.
Always a great choice & the location is convenient to the convention center.
Traveling with family and was staying across the street. We went by and the place looked interesting so we made reservation for the next day. Pleasantly surprised. Good food and s drinks served with excellent service.
Was passing by with friends; and from outside this place looks awesome. Made reservation looking forward to some good food and wine/ cocktails.
Service is excellent but the food menu is extremely limited. Basically burgers, pizza, regular salad. This place has great potential if they could add a few more variety in the menu. The wine list also short... good cocktails and full bar for those who just want beverages.
Had lunch with 2 friends on a Tuesday at noon. It seemed very empty for an SF workday. The service was good. My friend told me she changed from iced tea to lemonade because her tea tasted soapy. I got a tea and it tasted fine, so must have been the glass. I had a green salad and vegetarian chili. One friend had a green salad and fries. The other had the fried chicken sandwich (looked great - did not try). The green salad was good, pretty standard. The chili was just odd. It was bland and everything seemed blended together, just kind of a soupy ground meat texture. The fries were delicious though.
Service seemed a bit slow. May have just been because it was a Sunday night. Waited quite a bit for our beers when the place was almost empty. Food was quite tasty, ice cream was amazing!
I really love The Keystone, service and food are ALWAYS great here. You can go for the Bar Menu or a larger menu for sit-down dining. I myself just had a NY Steak and was blown away, cooked perfectly and outstanding value.
My expectations weren't very high as I thought this was a new version of Roxanne's. I was wrong and surprised. While the menu is relatively small, it has something for meat lovers and vegetarians alike. The calamari are always a must for me and these were crispy with a surprise ingredient - fried pickles (worked well). My entrée was the Butternut squash spaghetti which were absolutely to die for with a savory sauce, certainly worth another trip. The Keystone will now be my pre-event destination.
I have been to the Keystone a few times and it never fails to disappoint. The food is great, the atmosphere has energy, and the location is fantastic. The service is fantastic and the ambience is perfect for fine or casual dining. Definitely will be going back.
The food was great can't go wrong with the chicken sandwich or the chorizo sandwich.
The service was fantastic very attentive and provided great recommendations.
A pleasant experience with excellent attentive service. The menu is rather limited, could use more small plates on the menu. Overall, enjoyed dinner and the kids did too.
I always return to this place. It is conveniently located for a number of things I do downtown. The waitstaff is awesome and it is a friendly place with a good menu and a pleasant atmosphere.
Service was terrible - Continually had to get waiters attention for water refills The Halibut was overcooked, and took nearly 2 hours to finish our meal.
We mentioned this at the end of the meal, and didn't seem to care one way or the other.
My friend was 30 minutes late so I wound up ordering without him. My salad came out pretty quickly and was decent taste and portion. My friend arrived and he wound up ordering the same thing as me, so we sat for another 30 minutes but no salad came. I eventually gave him the rest of my salad since I only hate half (see above re: decent sized portions) and we cancelled his order. They were super apologetic and wound up comping our meal, even though we only ordered essentially 1 salad which was really nice of them.
This was the perfect place to go after a movie at Metreon! Good food at reasonable prices in a pleasant room.
Nice venue for a business lunch. Not too noisy, efficient service, food good.
Bacon wrapped shrimp was very flavorful and not overly rich. Great cocktails.
Very salty food, the price does not match the quality, and the ambiance is mediocre. Was disappointed.
Food sucked. Pork Loin had a bad taste. Service and ambiance is good, though.
I don’t know why more locals don’t come here. The food is delicious, service is quick and friendly, and I think it’s a good value for the quality and ambiance you’re getting.
The food was great and the atmosphere fun. Strongly recommend a reservation because seating is limited.
Excellent Find in SF - really great staff. Food was excellent, save for the pizza that seemed undercooked and soggy - needs a bit more time in the over to firm up he crust. Great appetizers and fun drinks.
Great seat at the bar. Food was excellent and came promptly. Service was attentive
We chose this spot because it was across the street from our hotel. It looks dark from the outside but the interior feels open and airy. The food was good and the service was excellent.
Great service and delicious food! We liked the decor too.
Great food and great service! The setting was nice, not very noisy and good space.
Great staff, super accommodating and friendly!
Loved the restaurant. Food was excellent. Perfect for my son's birthday with a table off to the side for 6 people! Wait staff was very attentive. We made it within minutes of the happy hour and our server was nice enough to still off it to us. That is very cool. Prices were very reasonable. Kale salad with added salmon was excellent. Prawns were delicious. Pizza was excellent. Can't wait to go back.
Waitress was friendly and attentive. Food was good, overall an enjoyable evening. We had a table in a side room, main room was a bit noisy.
The bottom line is that could have been a really really good meal was made mediocre by kitchen chaos. Servers tried hard. The "food runners" brought the appetizers at the right temps, though slowly, and the main dish arrived with my wife's pizza looking good and almost stone cold. Fixes took so long, we gave up. Too bad. Our server was energetic and informative, my food was good, but in total, it just didn't work well. Thus, value was undercut.
Good location (for me) as it was opposite my hotel, the Marriott on 4th Street. Had a business dinner there, wine was good, food was great (Halibut) , not too noisy. We had a window seat, but I can imagine going back there alone, next time I am in town, and just eating at the bar.
We enjoyed it...great place to meet friends who are staying at the Marriott or attending a conference/work function...good décor/ambiance.....good food and good menu options...I was on a work related lunch so didn't get to sample the bar menu or specialty drinks...so I'll definitely be back..
