    Prompt seating with our Thanksgiving evening dinner reservation. The prix fixe menu was terrific and easy to navigate. They offered several options for all in the party to enjoy. The servers and Manager were extremely helpful. We were pleasantly surprised on our first visit. We would certainly return again.

    With so many restaurants coming and going in Portland, It is easy to see why Urban Farmer has been around so long. They do it right. Excellent service, good food, interesting drinks, great ambiance. People will come here again and again and they'll bring their visitors and friends because they know it will be a great experience. The only two things I think they could improve on, and these are my opinions, is the wine by the glass selection and the shrimp appetizer. The wine selection seemed a little slim for red wine by the glass; and our shrimp appetizer was practically tasteless; it was disappointing, to say the least. Other than that, our steaks were perfectly cooked to our liking, sides were delicious, and the butterscotch sundae was decadent. Sure, it's expexsive, but they know what they are doing and, as I said, do it well. You get what you pay for here.

    The location of the restaurant is unique and it provides a nice opportunity to visit and dine. I wasn't thrilled with the food and presentation. It wasn't bad at all, but nothing really stood out either.

    Food was fine, and not anything special. Our actual waitress was lovely, when she showed up to our table but everything was slow. It took 15 minutes to get a glass of wine and 30 for our food but the restaurant didn’t seem busy at all.

    Delicious food and a great wine list! And, Omg the thinly sliced beets on top of marscapone with toasted candied hazelnuts, may be one of the best things I've ever eaten. Go now while they have it.

    We split the steak tasting - a first for us and it was excellent. 3 different strip steaks - it was 18 ounces of meat so plenty to share. We also split a Caesar salad (great), the mushrooms and whipped potatoes. We were too full so passed on dessert. Wine list is excellent if you are into wine (and we are).

    Wonderfully diverse, locally sourced menu at reasonable prices for Sunday brunch. I had a flatbread with poached eggs $22, my partner had the crab omelette $28, and her brother had a hash $22. We were all very pleased with taste, quality, presentation, and portions. Drinks were a bit expensive $13 for a small flute of mimosa. And the Aperol spritzers seemed very light on ingredients compared to other restaurants. Service was scatter-brained. Hostess and waitstaff behaved as if they were swamped, though the restaurant was mostly empty. We were seated but not offered coffee. I was never offered a refill — basic courtesy one expects at any diner. The atmosphere was lovely and quiet. We’ll definitely return, despite the Gen X service and bartending skills.

    From the get go this hotel and restaurant staff have proven themselves to be nothing top notch. The Benedict was incredibly made with a proper flavor packet. The bacon was correctly cooked too!!!!

    We were checking it out for possible Thanksgiving venue. Our first time there. Bit baffled at our seating, we had a reservation, maybe not necessary as not that many patrons. After eating we walked around, there were far better tables, empty. My husbands Roast Beef Benedict was very good. My chicken sandwich, chicken a bit chewy. Wine $20 a glass? Hmmm The best part of our visit was being greeted by Peter. He was informative, engaging, a delight. Thank you for answering our questions and maj]king us feel relaxed.

    Urban Farmer in Portland Or is a really nice restaurant, but a few things need to be corrected especially since the Ritz is going in right down the street. Mac and Cheese had rancid croutons on top One salad was very limp, had sat in the dressing WAY too long Service was great, except our main course took way too long to arrive We had brunch the next morning and it was good. Dinner was not great.

    Ambience and service were impeccable. The food is where we were let down a little. We ordered a ribeye and a tenderloin, both medium rare. The ribeye came out very rare and the tenderloin was on the medium side. From this experience, I feel the restaurant isn’t consistent with temperature of its meat. Also, they seared both steaks a bit too much for our taste. It tasted great at first, but the sear was a little overwhelming by the time we finished. We could forgive the meat, but one of the sides was subpar. I don’t recommend the mac and cheese. It was more like mac and cream. A disappointment to say the least, considering Tillamook is down the proverbial road. We didn’t eat half of it. The wild mushrooms were decently flavored and complimented the steak. The cocktails were standard. For the price, I expected more. I won’t be returning.

    Ceasar salad came buried in parmesan, AND salty dressing, AND flake salt too. Excessively salty, uneatable. Of four steaks ordered, one was the wrong cut, AND highly overcooked, while another was also cooked very well done instead of medium rare. Replacement steaks were fine, but his is a steakhouse with a dozen steak options that charges top dollar. A good Ceasar and a properly cooked steak is the minimum standard. How many times a day do they cook a medium-rare steak? For how many years now? Good bartender, nice server, lovely setting, food below par.

    We ate there for breakfast. Food is great; probably among the best breakfast/brunch options in Portland. The deco is awesome. Some ladies working as waitresses seem to adopt a little bit of wokism attitude. That shouldn’t deter you from eating at this place. Also, for Bloody Mary lovers, you can compose your version of this drink according to your own preferences. They also have locations in Denver, Philadelphia and Cleveland.

    Good overall experience. Good food, drinks, etc. Bar service while seated at the bar was poor. Waiting ten minutes to be greeted when there are only four other patrons seated as well doesn’t support a $10 pint.

    Came all the way from Seattle with high hopes after reading all the reviews. We made reservations for Saturday at 8pm, and got there a bit early. It wasn’t busy at all, just a few parties when we arrived. The ambience was amazing, I wish we could’ve enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for the service. We ordered some drinks and food, and it took like 30 minutes to come out. That was annoying considering it was not busy at all. It took the server forever to refill our water. What made the stay unpleasant was we ordered a medium rare steak, and it was obviously rare. We told the waitress we no longer wanted it because we don’t want to wait another 30 minutes to bring it back. She insisted on recooking it for us, and brought it back well done. Not only did she not do as we requested, she seemed very irritated that we didn’t want it anymore. Why would you bring me a rare steak, when I asked for medium rare, and then you bring it back well done? Anyways she called the manager and he comped it for us, which was much appreciated. Upon leaving, the waitress didn’t even acknowledge us. For fine dining you would expect better food and service. I assume she judged us by our appearance because that’s what it felt like, we weren’t treated equally because of our age and attire.

    Took 15 minutes to get the host to even seat us even though the place was pretty empty. We were able to order right away but it took almost an hour for our food to arrive. Ordered steak medium rare and it was cooked to well done (grey and chewy). Wife salmon was on the verge of jerky.

    I was kind of shocked we come here twice a year from Mexico for three years. It’s our sixth dinner and our fourth launch. Certainly when Nick was there, everyone was in good spirits. All of the employees it has changed but it’s still lovely. They said we had a 6 ounce piece of halibut it was 2 1/2” x 2 1/2” with a lot of crab polenta. We will be back tomorrow night and the next night and the next night. Hopefully it’ll be better.

    Always a wonderful experience with Urban Farmer and especially since this time my wife and I were celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary! Ann-Dee was wonderful as our server and treated us to a delicious honey lavender crème brûlée dessert - which was incredible! It also happened to be Negroni week, so I enjoyed Urban Farmer’s take while my wife had an old fashioned - both drinks were perfect. One of our favorite go to spots when we make it in to Portland. Thanks again for a wonderful evening!
