It was a Monday night and after sitting at our table for 20 minutes I went up to the host to see if we had a server. The manager came by and took our drink order and than came back and took our order. The food took over an hour and the server showed up when our food was delivered. The french onion soup had no flavor and we had to add salt to it. The halibut also had no seasoning on it and tasted bland. I have had good food and service in the past, but not tonight. Very disappointing when my bill was $400.

We had a lovely small bachelorette brunch. The drinks & food were great, and the service was very friendly. We were seated outside, the patio is well maintained and the street traffic was not bothersome.

I love dining at Salut, and have never had bad food there until last night. I ordered the burr at a salad with Salmon and heirloom tomatoes. The burrata was tough and chewy, no creamy center. The salmon was over cooked, and the tomatoes were not ripe. I was sooo disappointed. I am hoping this is a one-time mistake. The patio was lovely and the ambience was very pleasant.

My friend asked for extra ice. She saw the waiter was bringing it to the wrong table and she told him across the tables that it was for her as he was confused. He came to our table and said he did not like when people yelled to him while he was waiting on other tables and said how demeaning we were! It was very awkward of him and kind of ruined our meal. We kept getting other waiters to bring the rest of meal and he kept giving us dirty looks! Salut is one of our favorite restaurants and this was an unpleasant experience. I’ve never been yelled at by a waiter !

Though it took a while for our server (Andrew) to initially greet us, he provided great service! Upon the arrival of a [short-lived] rain shower, Andrew quickly moved one of the umbrellas to shield us as we preferred to remain outside. We also received great assistance from one of the hosts when we requested to move our location on the patio.

I'm a long time customer and typically very happy with Salute but this visit was different. A friend and I each ordered a meal on the patio, which was great, but I ordered the Poulet Paillard to go for my wife and when I got it home realized the portion size was about 1/3rd the size (laughably small) you get when you dine in at the restaurant. This was very disappointing.

For at least the last 10 years, Salut has been one of my favorite, if not my favorite, restaurants in Saint Paul. Post Covid, however, they changed the menu and significantly increased their prices. To make matters worse, this “French” restaurant doesn’t sell a single European non-IPA beer at present. Quite disappointed.

We love this restaurant and were so disappointed by our last experience we will not be going back. The restaurant is insanely understaffed and our server was too busy to check on us and forgot part of our order. The appetizers and food took forever, and by the time the food came out the steaks had been sitting under the heat lamp to the point of being completely dried out.

The food used to be excellent. Not I get a piping hot plate because my burger has been sitting under heat lamps, cooking the bun hard. Who knows if the burger was medium when it was plated, it came to me well done. The calamari used to be the best of anywhere I had ever tried. It was served with pickled jalapeño peppers and a lovely aioli sauce. Now you get half calamari half breaded vegetables and mayonnaise. The Chicken Cobb salad is a shadow of its former self. You have become pedestrian. Raise your standards. Reach for what you once were!

We have always enjoyed our visits to Salut over the years. Great casual and fun atmosphere. Food and service are excellent. Reserve early if you want outdoor seating in the summer and be sure to specify it in the reservation. We visited for an anniversary dinner out. Bread and calamari appetizers with wine were a perfect start. I had French onion soup and salad with anchovies while my partner had mussels. We both enjoyed our meals very much. They unexpectedly brought out a small celebratory creme brulee for the occasion. A wonderful place for dinner whenever you're in the Grand Ave area of St. Paul

Always an amazing evening out. Loved sitting on the patio and enjoying the ambiance and people watching. The kitchen was very backed up and they were super apologetic but we were in no hurry and didn’t mind one bit.

I was there on Saturday, July 9, 2022. I ate my meal there and brought 2 meals to some dear friends. While my meal was excellent and the server was fabulous, the 2 meals I brought to my friends was a disappointment. One meal was inedible (she called the restaurant and complained) and the pommes frites were hard. (The one I ate at the restaurant were out of this world.) The manager did put a credit for the one meal and the pommes frites on my credit card. While I would give a rating of 4.5, I think my friends would end up giving it a 1, because this is the 3rd time they have had takeout from there and each time there has been issues.

Great service, nice variety of foods on the menu and cocktails. Happy hour is great! Also nice selection of three course meal options with just the right size portions.

My fiance and I decided to try a new place for brunch. We ordered a few dishes including an appetizer to share. The croissants tasted standard, nothing outstanding. They were crispy because they'd been toasted, but by the time they got to our table, they were cold. Our main meals lacked any flavor and some of it tasted stale. Some of the items I requested were never even brought to our table. I was excited to try a French-inspired meal, but there wasn't anything outstanding that I could point out. Very disappointed.
