A very enjoyable Friday lunch! My husband and I shared the Gruyere Croquettes with Herb Mayonnaise, which were delicious. My husband had the Spiced Duck Sausages; he said they were great. I had the Eye Fillet, which was extremely tender, cooked perfectly and very tasty; the red wine jus was fantastic. We then shared the Chocolate Tart for dessert, which was excellent as well. When looking at the menu, the eye fillet seemed a bit pricy, but the quality made it worth the price. It was better than some steaks I've had in expensive steakhouses. We always enjoy dining at The Farmers Arms, it is consistently great and we will certainly return.

A lovely afternoon on a cold winters day to catchup with family from out of state. Food was delicious and the staff friendly and helpful. I’ll be back again

We've been to Farmer's Arms a number of times and have always enjoyed the amazing food, service and ambiance (including with our whole family for my dad's birthday). As recently as a year ago we have a lovely lunch with our two children! However on Sunday it seems that there has been a change in directionat the restaurant. They no longer provide a children's menu (in the past they had offered a few smaller versions for the kids - kids fish and chips for example). On Sunday they also said that there would be no bowls of hot chips available (they would only be available if they were a side on a meal). What this meant was that the 4 kids we were with (who were 9-13) all had to order main meals. It was just a bit of a waste as they didn't finish them (never mind extremely costly!). Clearly there has been a bit of a change in the clientele they want to attract - just think its a shame that they aren't able to accomodate for the smallest members of the community! (or say you are an adult only restaurant which clearly you want to be). Add to that a 13.5% surcharge, it meant for a costly meal and we won't be bringing them back again, which is a real shame.

Such a cosy and traditional pub. The steaks were delicious. Slight wait on drinks and it was a bit tricky to get our waitresses attention to order further drinks. The hostess was very welcoming and friendly. Would still recommend and front bar area looked enjoyable by the fire.

This is the second time we have dined here and we absolutely love it! It is a true gem of an offering in Dalesford. One thing that was a standout, was the exceptional customer service which was incredibly warm, inviting, attentive, with a ‘can do’ attitude. Our waitress, Christina went above and beyond, including helping us surprise our friends for their birthday with desert, candles and a very enthusiastic singing of happy birthday which the whole Restaurant joined in for. The food is always great quality and I love the atmosphere of the place. This will be a place we return to every time we come to Dalesford!

I really wanted to like our experience at Farmers arms having been a repeat customer spanning decades. I’m sure the management are lovely people. It used to be so great! It looks like they’ve recently renovated and crammed in double as many tables. Our server was overly friendly and annoying , inserting herself into our conversations at every opportunity and making us feel awkward. The 8.5% Saturday tax felt like a bit of overreach. We would have preferred to leave a tip than be forced to pay an arbitrary fee for dining in the restaurant.
