I expected better from the other reviews. The space is historic and beautiful to gaze at but the service was super super slow and the food mediocre. We had a Caesar salad that tasted like bland lettuce -- we sent back. Prime Rib was dull and tasteless. Ravioli was not desirable. Overall a very disappointing dinner.

We had reservations at 2:15 on a Sunday. This is apparently during their brunch buffet. We were sat 45 minutes late (so nearly 3pm). They closed all of the buffet items between 3:15 and 3:30. No warning, no apologies, and we still paid full price. The buffet food was mediocre at best. A genuinely disappointing experience all around! I don’t think I’ll ever go back for brunch.

We go to the Grand Concourse Sunday brunch about once a year. I'll never go in the afternoon again. Unlike our past morning visits, it was very overcrowded and hectic. When a host announced that he could seat parties of 4 or less in the Gandy Dancer, we followed him. When i gave our name to the host, he said we have no one by that name on our list. I reminded him that i just gave HIM our name 10 minutes earlier. He then found our name. He did not apologize! The 4 of us were seated at a very tight booth. We are all average sized people. Yet, our table was tight against our bodies. However, the food was good. This was a time for my partner and I to celebrate our new foster children and take them to a nice restaurant. I was upset, and that dampened the mood for our family. Next time, I'll reserve a table in the morning and not take a seat in the Gandy Dancer.

This was our first time going back to the grand concourse in a decade or so—how things have changed! We went to a Sunday brunch and had reservations for early afternoon. When we arrived, there must have been over 50 people standing around waiting for tables despite having reservations. Once we were seated, a server stopped by and got us a beverage then briefly gave us a rushed description of what food areas there were and where to find them. So basically, we milled around ourselves and waited in line for food at every station. The food was fair, with the prime rib standing out as the remarkably tasty food. Other dishes were pedestrian at best for a brunch in this price range. They did note when a food was gluten free which was nice for people with allergies as a plus. The opulence and grandeur of the experience we had long ago was gone. Sad to say we will not be returning for the brunch experience again.

16 ppl for business dinner choose this place for brunch for the Planet Roof team. Food great, waitress great, seated quick bill was 1000 with alcohol. In all honesty top level experience for less than steaks at a low to middle place. Have your best business meeting like this!

We had a 1:00 reservation, didn’t get seated until 1:35. They appeared to be either overbooked or not enough help. Also, we were there for Sunday brunch and several of the items on the buffet tables were empty and were not refilled in a timely manner. The women’s bathroom was also extremely dirty. Unfortunately, the Grand Concourse has gone downhill.

The brunch was fabulous! The food was fresh and displayed and filled very well. There was a nice variety of all types of food, salads, desserts and goodies for the kids. The atmosphere was beautiful and all chefs were very personable and accommodating. This is a great place for a special occasion or just to go somewhere different. Would recommend this brunch to everyone!

Our waiter (Neil) was amazing. He was so thorough and thoughtful. As first time patrons, he took the time out of his very busy day to tell us about the history of the building and was especially understanding of our two very excitable children. We could not have asked for a better waiter. We were lucky enough to be seated in a window seat beside the river, so my children were so easily entertained by looking out the window, however that didn’t stop Neil from checking in frequently and offering them the VIP treatment! I will say, the food, for the most part was mediocre. My two children and I also had a less than great experience with the woman running the omelette station. After getting our freshly made donuts, we likely made the common mistake of placing the tongs into the basket of donuts instead of on the plate next to the bowl of donuts. This woman hastily grabbed the tongs and slammed them onto the plate next to the donut bowl and gave a big huff, to passive aggrievedly let me know I’ve don’t something wrong. While I understand this woman likely deals with this all day long, I felt that with the $180 price tag for a family of 4, this measly action didn’t warrant this type of response. My family won’t be returning, not for this action alone but simply because our experience was less than satisfactory. The stations for food are spread out so far, the food wasn’t amazing, the location was so loud and busy that it was anxiety provoking even for those of us that done suffer from anxiety and overstimulation. Just the whole lot was not worth it for us!
