Seasoned with an unmistakable Chinese flavour, Spice Temple’s unique and truly special dishes are driven by a long fostered passion for Asian cuisine and delights the senses with its contrasting tastes and textures.
While Spice Temple’s food is designed for the shared table, so too is the wine list with an interesting and exciting selection of exactly 100 Australian and imported wines.
Dinner: Daily: 6:00pm - 11:00pm
Disappointing. Have dined at other Neil Perry restaurants but this one didn't rate.
Only highlight was the staff who were knowledgeable, friendly and attentive
The $99 set menu with matching wines was fantastic. Particular highlights were the beef, kapuka and tuna. Service was top notch, with the staff always coming at the right time and never being over bearing.
Had a wonderful evening here exploring new relationships business and personal.
Ambience was perfect to tell stories and to build a shared experience.
Food exquisite. Service friendly and lovely.
A terrific evening. Can't wait to find a good reason to return.
We enjoyed yum Cha yesterday and it was delicious! The service at Spice Temple is always exceptional. The quiet atmosphere is always a treat to dine in. The servings were perfect and presented very nicely. A lovely occasion for my family!
Saturday night as the Spice temple was a very enjoyable experience, perhaps one of the best I have had so far.
The food was amazing, we asked the staff to choose the dishes for us and each one was fantastic. The service was perfect, extremely friendly staff. Can't wait to go back, it's definitely a favourite.
By far the best yum cha experience - such a refreshing change from the usual yum cha you may experience - ie, no pork buns but amazing pork pastries !!!
What great value for money too..it was truly a dining extravagance....loved it...
The food and atmosphere were perfect for a birthday dinner with my wife. The staff were friendly and helpful. The cocktail list unique and the food was simply yummy.
Quality as good as always. However, over the last year they appear to have reacted to "too spicy" reviews by lowering spice levels too far. No longer true Sichuan cuisine as just too mild. A pity because all other aspects remain first class.
Consistently excellent service, yum Cha hit the spot perfect for lunch after a busy week.
Great location comfortable seating and world class cuisine.
Everything was great except the firewater beef was average. Mahjong in St.Kilda do the best firewater beef if you want to get it up to scratch try theirs.
Exceptional service by staff. They really looked after us. Even when I made the appointment I happened to mention in passing that it was my husbands bday. They must have made a note and surprised him with a bday cake and candle. Its the little things that make the night special. The staff recommended the banquet which was incredible. Very consistent and delicious and very filling. Great value for money.
We had the Buffet $99 + upgrade and wine match. First 2 courses were lovely and appropriately wine matched. Wine matching after was terrible. Duck was tender. Desert was good and well wine matched.
Wonderful, waterfront seating! Amazing food and wine. Throughly enjoyed the experience.
The food was great and ambience good. the restaurant had a high class feel to it yet was a refined casual lunch with great waitress service. Would recommend to friends.
15 minute wait with no service at the bar, despite being one of only three tables occupied. A further 15 mins at the table waiting for our drinks (two beers out of bottles and cans - and one simple cocktail). Three staff asking us for our drink order completely out of sync and not communicating. Wine poured into half full glasses of people away at the bathroom left to go warm; last wine in our bottle heaved into one of party's glasses - filling it - while others remained almost dry. Bad bad bad.
Seafood prepared very well
I consistently have an amazing meal and amazing experience every time I dine here.
Excellent food and service. You would not expect anything less from NP.
Great place. We have dined here before but the options for vegetarians were much more limited this time. Several of the vegetarian options had bacon in them. There were three tofu options but all quite similar.
Menu or chefs have changed
Something was off
Delicious food, fabulous, friendly and knowledgeable service. Cannot wait to go back.
Fantastic food & service, entire service executed perfectly and with ease.
Great to dine here once again. Appreciate the effort the staff at the venue and reservations take to ensure that our needs particularly in relation to allergies are discussed and appropriate dishes recommended.
We could not fault the attentiveness and service from staff.
Food was not as flavoursome as we would have expected from this venue and some serves appeared overcooked.
Remarkably, the service at the Melbourne restaurant is not as good as Sydney. I have experiences this on a number of occasions.
Arguably the best Asian food in the country.
We had a wonderful time at Spice Temple last night. Like always, great food, great company, wonderful staff. Our waiter was fantastic. He had a great personality, offered excellent recommendations and was always happy to help. I wish I got his name but he is definitely an asset to your team.
We had dinner at Spice temple for our 11yr anniversary and really couldn't fault it. Staff were friendly and attentive and the food was AMAZING!! We will be back!
We were celebrating our anniversary. We received wonderful service by friendly attentive staff. Topped off a delicious dinner when We received complementary cocktails.
Food was brilliant, matched wines okay, service was passable - we obviously weren't the picture of the kind of client they'd like to have (not young nor vibey), even though we spent over $400 for two.
Unfortunately, I cannot say it was a good dining experience. The food was not at all what I expected. The Gung Pao chicken was way too salty and there were more chillies than pieces of chicken really! The Hot and Numbing Wagyu beef was anything but hot and numbing and was extremely chewy :( and the rice was fairly salty too!! Was really disappointed
The food had plenty of flavour and was well presented and we had the banquet menu with matching wines to get a good variety. The only down side is that after asking on two separate occasions for the food to slow down, the food and wine still came out at a very fast pace and we felt as though we were being rushed out for the next booking. That removed any welcoming feeling as they appeared to just be focused on churning out the customers. Of note, i'm quite a fast eater and still felt rushed.
I have absolutely loved the food & experience at Spice temple every time I have dined there however on my last occasion (Sat 20th) I was so so disappointed & surpised with the service. We were booked for the 8:30pm slot Yet on arrival our table wasn't ready & the guy at the desk who greeted us prettt much said it was bad luck & we needed to wait down stairs at the bar. Then when we were finally seated it took quite a while to be served or even get a menu until we asked & our order was stuffed up
The Spice Temple impressed beyond expectations, as usual.
Disappointed, I was expecting to be wowed for $350.
It was nice, but I feel that it could of be better for the price and hype, I tried this a week after I visited red spice road Qv, red spice road from food to service out shines spice temple sorry.
The dining experience was not special. Overrated, overpriced, the food lacked subtlety.
In a word: underwhelming
The pork was so over spiced you could not tast it: the coconut pannacota was acidic from too much citrus and I'm sorry: $50 for four prawns: really?
We love the concept of numerous small plates that lunch provides. There was something for all tastes offered, all prepared with great care with wonderful flavours and textures.
Just love good Chinese and that was what was delivered
Fantastic service & ambience. Delicious food!
Have been here a number of times, love the food, great service, but Jesus it is dark :) I dont understand why the lighting is like 1 lux, you need to use your iphone light to see the menu, otherwise great
This is an exceptional restaurant that I have now dined at twice.
during those 2 visits I tried many different dishes and found them all to be of the finest quality.
Add to that the staff were fabulous.
This is a MUST return for us.
Pricing is a bit high but I assume the high rent accounts for that.
The food and service was best of breed.
