The place is great and so is the staff. But the appetizers as well as the entrees are over salted. The meal was average and the amount of salt to cover it up was excessive. It’s a shame because the rest of the experience was great.

We had an amazing meal at the Tavern. Both the Pork Osso Buco and Shrimp & Grits were outstanding. It looks fantastic after the renovation. We would definitely go back.

The Tavern was a lovey experience! The drinks were tasty and well priced (tavern old fashioned and the lion tail). We ordered the lamb lollipops and the blood orange fennel ricotta salad as apps to split and both were great. The lollipops were flavorful and juicy. I ordered the shrimp and grits and it came out just as pictured on the website and my boyfriend ordered the prime rib, which was tender. Our server, Ben, was patient and attentive. It was a good ending to our trip to State College!

We were a little early for our reservation and they seated us early, which was a pleasant surprise. The food was excellent and the portions were very generous. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a good restaurant in State College.
