    Everything we ordered as delicious! The scallops were a table favorite. Loved the veal, quail and rib-eye and the soufflés for dessert!!!! My only wish. Not just here, but lately people don’t seem to want to keep their conversations at their table. I’d like to not hear them. We will definitely come back. Thanks Eva for taking great care of us.

    It was a wonderful evening! Holiday music 🎵 playing really was a great way to start the month of December and celebrate a milestone birthday! Many other tables as well doing the same. Waitstaff and Head of House chatted with us several times and took care of keeping our table timing perfect. The food was amazing as expected and the sampler plate #2 is recommended!

    Our group of 8 ladies lunched on opening day of La Foret's December lunches. Shawn could not have been more attentive as we wined, dined and visited. We appreciated our private area overlooking trees and river. From appetizers to salads to entrees and desserts, we enjoyed a variety of perfect preparations, beautifully presented.

    Overall we had a great experience just like our previous visits. Service was excellent. I can always count on La Foret to cook my steak to perfection which is hard to find in other restaurants. My only disappointment was the Romaine Salad. The lettuce was bitter and I didn't care for the dressing as it had an odd taste. Maybe a fishy taste? I don't know exactly, but I couldn't finish it. It looked unappealing as well as it had just an overall bland appearance. We still had an enjoyable time and will definitely return again.

    Another amazing dinner we hosted with our out of town family. The eclectic mix of courses was enjoyed by all. Enjoying the view of the rushing creek and wild turkeys from our dinner table. This time in celebration of life was absolutely perfect!

    I enjoy dining at La Foret, however, their brunch menu has not changed one iota since they began. The menu has a very limited selection of what I would call "brunch" items. The soufle' grande marnie is always good however that's not necessarily a brunch item. I would like to suggest more breakfast items which are typically found on a brunch menu. The personnel is great....but they need....more brunch items not wold boar which is a dinner item.

    We made reservations for brunch. "Outdoor" was the only option available, so we dressed warmly because it was quite a bit colder than it had been in the last few weeks. When we arrived, we were given the option to sit inside, which was very nice. My 80 year old mom and 84 year old dad preferred indoor seating, which was much more comfortable for them. Service was spectacular. The food was very good. We enjoyed several orders of pain perdu (french toast for the kids), quail, veal, lamb, and seafood linguine. The accompaniments of prawns (one per person), fruit, cheese, and mushrooms/artichokes in sauce, was an interesting variety - there was a little something for everyone. We were surprised with a nice complimentary dessert plate with several small servings to share, which was more than enough after a filling meal. They even put two candles to celebrate the two birthdays at our table. I appreciated the gentle patience of our Maitre d' with my dad's various questions and comments; he was very gracious and accommodating. Although a bit embarrassing, when it came time to pay the bill, I had forgotten my glasses. I was so focused on calculating the tip, I even used the help of the tip calculations at the bottom of the bill. I did not notice that gratuity had already been included due of the size of our group. Off we went, leaving a 40+% tip! The Maitre d' came and found us in the parking lot, confirmed our error and adjusted the bill. That was so very kind of him and we really appreciated his extra effort in finding us. It was a special experience and a memorable celebration.

    La Foret restaurant exceeded every expectation. From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance was enchanting, with dimmed lights and a cozy, rustic decor. The service was impeccable; the staff was attentive and knowledgeable. Our meal was a culinary masterpiece. The chef's attention to detail was evident in every dish, and the flavors were an exquisite dance on the taste buds. The wine selection complemented the menu perfectly. Whether it was the decadent appetizers, the perfectly cooked main courses, or the delightful desserts, every bite was pure bliss. La Foret is a dining experience that deserves nothing less than five stars.

    We've been to La Foret several times. Very good as usual. Outdoors seating next to a babbling creek is very serene and relaxing. Service was excellent. The only negative is cost; it's pretty expensive. Most of the game main courses are close to $70. And they charge $50 corkage fee. High prices are what keep this a 'special-occasion' restaurant for us. Insider tip: Costco Almaden has gift cards for the restaurant. I recommend getting two sets (which is the maximum the restaurant allows in one seating). Cost $160 for $200 value. It's hard to spend less than $200 for two diners.

    Our server Sean was very nice and helpful with his recommendations. Everyone in general were very courteous. The American Wagyu was terrific and the peppercorn sauce was amazing. The vibes were chill and comforting. Nice place for a date night

    We had an unpleasant experience. We arrived at our scheduled appt time, they acknowledged our anniversary celebration and then proceeded to sit us in the most undesirable place, with no views even though the entire restaurant was empty. We asked why and then they seated us in a great table. To be honest we assume it was a microaggresion. Maybe you should consider reservations without names so they are not prejudiced.

    Very nice vibe with above and beyond service. All of the food was delicious I got the veal and my boyfriend had the bison then for dessert the creme brûlée was perfection.

    It was a wonderful night for celebrating our anniversary. We all throughly enjoyed our meals. Artichoke soup special was awesome, smoked salmon appetizer was delicious. Main courses had lovely sauces and great sides. Best for last was of course the Grand Marnier soufflé.

    We love this restaurant and had been going to it for about 20 years. I always thought of it as exceptional and one of my all-time 5 best restaurants. This time my overall dinner experience was very good as opposed to an excellent experience. Dinner was excellent, but the ending dessert, Grand Marnier chocolate soufflé was average at best. They were served in what appeared to be a soup dish, were a little cold and deflated. Additionally, we had ordered them per instructions before the beginning of our meal so we would get them in time. They did not arrive for at least 15 minutes after we were done with entrees. This was for my wife’s birthday and she left a bit down as this had been her favorites dessert for a long time. We still loved the all of the other courses. They were exceptional. But I am hesitant to want to go back for awhile, as I think a $440 dinner should be the best if the best.

    La Foret, is by far the classiest, most elegant restaurant in San Jose. The food, the service and the location are 5 stars. The beautiful last few miles off Almaden Expressway put you in another world with rustic homes and its rural setting. Well worth the destination.
