What Insiders Are Saying
For your next special occasion/fancy night out dinner in SoHo, consider the French fine dining at Le Coucou.
The atmosphere was better than the food. A little stuffy and pretentious.
We had an incredible breakfast. Food was perfect and the ambiance was amazing. Will definitely be back!
I've been to le Coucou quite a few times and it never ceases to astound my taste buds.
The room is beautiful and the service is perfect, friendly without being intrusive.
I love Le Coucou.
Fantastic restaurant. Beautiful decor and lighting, professional and friendly staff and a kitchen that wowed us with the food. The blood sausage and the sweetbreads (with a perfectly pitched tarragon cream sauce) were particularly memorable but there was no dish that was less than superb. Even better than advertised!
Really delicious food! Great service (:
Love the ambiance. The service was great, attentive without hovering. The food was delicious, the pancake was so good. All the attention to detail was perfect. Felt like we were in France!
Definitely lived up to expectations, great atmosphere, delicious food.
Excelent coffee and breakfast.
Beyond amazing. Most well deserved Michelin star of 2019
Best French restaurant in Soho, marvelous service and great food every time.
The decor, the incredible food, the service. ... Everything was perfect. It was hard to get a reservation but definitely worth.
See you next time in NYC!
Superb cooking of wonderful ingredients. The kind of French cooking I crave, with intensely flavorful sauces. Definitely a new favorite.
Our 3rd meal ...have had dinner and lunch ...wonderful every time ....food is very good ...service and ambiance great ...not intimidating
The food was exceptional, and the staff was very attentive.
Great service. Waiters and waitresses make you feel special and a valuable guest. The food is great and the presentation is very good. For 2 people, we shared two appetizers and each got their own plate. The food was more than enough and we were full by the end of dinner. We also got a dessert and they service small chocolate pieces. I would recommend for a special night!
The food, the service, the room are all excellent. This restaurant is a cut above all but the 4 or 5 best in the City. It belongs with them!
Impeccable Service, Sommelier and a lovely Sunday Afternoon lunch!
Ambience: Casual elegance
Service: Impeccable ( Thank you especially George )
Wonderful! The best service we remember anywhere in the world we've been in a long time. Food is very special. Decor is lively.
I cannot say enough good things about this remarkable restaurant. We were delayed getting there by a storm and terrible Manhattan traffic. We called ahead to warn the restaurant and they could not have been more reassuring. When we arrived the greeter was just as pleasant. To me that is what separates a great dining experience from a mediocre one. The cuisine is superb and as advertised, this is a French restaurant. The only drawback is the incredibly price-y wine where you are hard pressed to find a bottle of wine under $100. And the alternative, bringing your own, is met with a $95. corkage fee. Other than that, I would gladly eat here once a week.
Amazing food. Service could be better. Hostess looked at us up & down upon entering. Server made us feel rushed.
travel from Philadelphia...steven starr is magic......le coucou is by far the best starr restaurant I've had the pleasure to dine. service is top notch!
Le Cou Cou is our favorite place for a special dinner. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, service is impeccable. The food is delicious with attention to every detail. One small quibble is that we would like brewed decaf with our delicious dessert. Currently the only decaf is espresso or Americano. We have brought this to the attention of the restaurant. Otherwise, everything is supberb!
Difficult to get to but worth the trip. Wine, oysters, sole Veronique were all lovely
High end French food. Knowledgeable and respectful waiter. Lose points wrt hospitality (lacking) - 25 min wait despite lunch reservation, no option to order a la carte, main course only arrived 70-75 min after reservation started.
It doesn’t get much better than this anywhere! Every plate was spectacular. Don’t miss it.
Excellent breakfast, in a quiet, serene setting. Attentive, professional service. I have only experience the restaurant for breakfast and will return again and again.
Been wanting to eat here for a long time.
Got table just a few days in advance ( probably because I requested a 5:00 seating)
Food was excellent and service most accommodating!
Will definitely return.
Le Coucou offre une cuisine raffinée et un service attentionné. Mention spéciale pour la décoration intérieure qui est juste sublime !
Staff were outstanding. Food and wine were exquisite. Wine list is extensive and expensive with limited moderately priced selections. Ramp access for wheelchairs and scooters is difficult to navigate due to the small landing automated doors that swing out together.
We booked an early dinner here and it was absolutely incredible. It blew our minds. The duckling dish was from another universe, the wine list was immaculate and the wait staff were knowledgable and very helpful
This was our 6th or 7th or 8th dinner at Le Cou Cou. As usual, it was superb in all respects. (We were introducing sophisticated Phoenix friends to one of our favorite Manhattan restaurants and they were impressed.) It was especially impressive to see that although the UN Secretary General and his large security detail, and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kissinger, were dining there that night, all was handled with perfect aplomb and no hassle. Michael is a REALLY GOOD maitre' d..!! (And the Dover Sole and the Boef and the Rabbit and the Lobster Salad are all simply terrific..! ) Bravo Le Cou Cou...!! !!)
Daniel Rose continues to provide a brilliant, yet traditional, French culinary experience that is a truly satisfying and applause-worthy delight.
We had lunch and were very disappointed. Food was mediocre, service was impersonal and hurried, and the servers appeared bored or in a hurry to be elsewhere. The lobster appertizer lacked finesse, and the horseradish sauce overpowered the deliciously cooked lobster completely. The halibut was slightly over cooked, and not to their usual high standard, but still delicate and very good. If this would have been my first visit to this restaurant, I would probably never come back, fortunately, we have dined here several times before and have always had wonderful food and impeccable service. So normally I would have rated it 5 stars, but today it is only 3.
Good overall experience with very nice food. The restaurant is beautiful and has a good ambiance. We were surprised, however, by the uninterested waiters who had no personal touch whatsoever. Also, we indicated upon booking that one person had a severe gluten allergy but they did not ask about this at all nor did they have gluten free bread or any other options. We thought this was strange and unprofessional as it is a very common, yet serious, allergy these days.
Beautiful french restaurant, have been several times for breakfast with friends, delicious food . . . calming and lovely ambience in the mornings, modern but richly textured, not minimal, very nice staff . . .
It was wonderful
