   This place is deeply racist. Be careful As much as we enjoyed the food, the racism we encountered ruined everything We came to this restaurant for dinner, and at first everything seemed great. The food was tasty, the service was very good, and our waitress, Kera, was absolutely wonderful — kind, attentive, and professional. We paid, left a generous tip, and walked out feeling positive. But the moment we stepped outside, everything changed. One of the kitchen staff members came out and began yelling at us aggressively. He shouted political slogans like “Free Palestine” and began cursing at us repeatedly. We didn’t respond — we just kept walking toward our car — but with every step, he continued hurling more insults at us until he eventually went back into the restaurant. Shortly after, a manager came out and apologized on his behalf, but it felt more like an attempt to calm things down than a sincere apology. She didn’t ask what happened or try to understand the situation — she just seemed focused on making sure we wouldn’t leave upset. Unfortunately, despite the good food and great service from our waitress, we left the restaurant feeling humiliated and unsafe. That should never be the outcome of a dining experience — especially when we had done absolutely nothing wrong. We couldn’t help but feel that our identity as Israelis, or as Jews, was the issue — and that’s something no one should ever have to experience.

   Everything was on point. The atmosphere, the staff, the wine, the food. Delfina is holding its own after decades in SF. What a lovely dinner we had! Our favorites were the anchovies and butter on toast, the chicken liver crostini and the butter beans in broth.

   The food does not disappoint. Best softshell crab I have had. Also the asparagus was served in a very nice hollandaise sauce. The affogato dessert was very good.

   Best italian food we had in the US. Very authentic and outstanding value for what you get. Service and atmosphere was also great

   Interesting remodel in 2022 expanded the space and number of tables. Livelier and even more casual. Hugely and justifiably popular.
