Stunning heavily Japanese influenced tasting menu, the staff are incredible - they work as such a cohesive unit, like they’re all extensions of the same limbs! They were so attentive but not over the top, knowledgable and affable. Overall such a treat and I would happily go back / recommend to all.

This was my first time doing a tasting menu. It completely exceeded all of my expectations. I liked the ambience in a old commercial structure turned into a modern space, staff was superb, friendly, approachable, and the food was an experience. Worth its money. More seafood and Asian flavors then I expected, several classics with new twists including Foie gras, Truffle over pasta, Sushi, most tender beef, etc I shared wine paring with my husband, however for me the amount of wine was a bit too much.

This was by far the most unique and delightful meal I've had in a long time. From presentation to taste, every dish was artfully created and wonderful. Service was impeccable from start to finish—We were greeted at the host station with a welcome cocktail, and each server was very knowledgable on the dishes and helped created a very pleasant atmosphere. Some highlights were the chef's unique twists on caviar, foie gras, and sea urchin. Absolutely worth the price tag and several month wait for a reservation.

This is a wonderful dining experience. Flavor profiles were well thought out and creative. Highly recommend the full wine pairing as it adds to the dining pleasure.

Unique environment and style. The service and foods are decent. However, the insufficient amount even compared with other 2 or 3 star restaurants. Yet the price $260 for 5 appetizers, 3 main courses, and 3 desserts is reasonable.

We were blown away from the moment we walked in. Complete hospitality in every way! We were greeted by the hostess and given a housemate cocktail, and she was so fun and friendly. The perfect start to an amazing evening. Our sommelier and server were wonderful. Always smiling, offered great conversation, they were so much fun, full of knowledge and went above and beyond for us! We shared with them that we will be moving next summer and we are making our way through all the Michelin restaurants (this one was by FAR our favorite!!) and one of the chefs and another server, who are from the area we are moving to, write down a list of restaurants for us to check out despite being busy with other customers. It was an outstanding experience, we already made a reservation for our anniversary. Worth every single penny!!

This was a magical evening and the food is spectacular. With the food we had the standard pairing, this was at a premium however the pairings were delicious and completely matched every course, even those that were less expected. The food is a wonderful journey and I think both of us came away with a dish we would never forget.

Outstanding food and presentation. Great service, well paced meals. The reserve wine paring was tremendous. Been to a lot of Michelin 2 and 3 star restaurants.

What made this special is the atmosphere was vibey vs a bit structured.

Well done and highly recommend to anyone looking for superb quality.

Incredible from start to finish. The hosts and servers do an amazing job making you feel welcome and sweeping aside the pretension. The are more than happy to discuss the dish or just leave you alone. Every course was a delight for the senses. My wife does not drink alcohol and had the spirit free pairing. It was incredibly well thought out and really complemented each course. The thoughtful and delicious menu and attentive staff are worth the cost - at least once.

Best meal I’ve ever had, matched only by the sensational service, which was perfection without crossing over into pretentious. A creative, mind blowing experience from arrival to departure. Unexpected, exciting and delicious - this place is the complete package, and the attention to detail is astounding. This is an absolute MUST for foodies in search of the real deal.

Undoubtably worth the Michelin stars that it has. Outstanding creative tasting menu. Pricey, but what you get is exquisite. Quirky space in an old warehouse in a very out-of-the-way location. But the interior is cool. Staff is very approachable and helpful. No pretense at all. Excellent wine list with some high end choices, but also some very affordable bottles. We absolutely loved it

I can't imagine a dining experience could be any better. From the flavors and the texture of the multiple courses, to the perfect drink pairings and the quietly elegant atmosphere, it all made for a gastronomic evening to be remembered. A bonus was their pre-dining care to assure diet restrictions are accommodated. Superlative!

This is a unique setting with food to match! By course 6 I was begging our server to stop bringing these delicious dishes. The explosion of flavors and textures were remarkable - truly a delightful experience.

Dinner at Oriole is one of the very best meals in the United States, and my favorite in Chicago. Just for context, I have dined at all the Michelin three star restaurants in the US, and just about all the two star restaurants. I have now four times this year traveled by plane to Chicago with this restaurant as my primary destination. Chef Sandoval is humble, gracious, and an extraordinary talent. His wife, Cara, who manages the restaurant and assists in the service is an absolute delight, warm, attentive, and the staff all seem very happy to be where they are. This of course all the more enhances one's appetite. The opener of golden Osetra caviar with cured hamachi, dill and saffron, au beurre, at my last visit two nights ago is one (or two or three) of he best bites on the planet. It just rolls on from there, with creative, imaginative and yummy courses that leave one at the end of about ten approachable courses with the satisfied serene smile of sublime satiation and bliss. I have usually ordered the wine pairing, which has been an excellent touch with no pretense, and appropriately selected from a variety of wine styles and continents, Japan included with a delicious sake course. I am very much looking forward to my next dinner at Oriole, already booked.

One of the most amazing meals ever! Every bite was flavorful and spot on. The service was impeccable. The wine pairings were perfect. I have zero complaints about Oriole. Start to finish...it was perfection!

Great food and wine pairing- but cannot compare PPP w/ Pastel in Montreal however cannot say which one is better between P & O only about taste besides price

I lived in New York twice and for 40 years in Europe -- London, Paris, Milan and Rome, with winters in Megeve, France and Kandersteg, Switzerland; I've eaten wonderful food in splendid places. Oriole provided one of the best meals of my life, never bettered. The restaurant has two Michelin stars, and I cannot understand why three weren't awarded. Everything was perfection, the ingredients sublime, prepared creatively. The atmosphere is unusual, comfortable; the service is professional, attentive but not intrusive.

The food was probably the best we've ever eaten in our fairly restaurant-ridden lives. Full of surprises, subtlety, variety, fantasy. Service, at reception and our main waitress [Erica], was superb. Have a few reservations which don't really take away from our positive view.

Everything was flawless - from the service to the food to the impeccable spirit-free drink pairings. The best meal I've ever had, with the most thoughtful non-alcoholic drink pairings to go with them. I was blown away by this meal. My boyfriend has now tried every pre-fixe only restaurant in Chicago and said the food and drink pairings were the best he's had.

Absolutely wonderfully executed tasting menu. Some wonderful surprises and an amazing use of pH and acids in each dish. A true roller coaster of depth and brightness in their dishes. The NA pairing was truly unique. Something they take pride in rather than an aside. High recommendation.

Our meal was spectacular! The service was pleasant and efficient. The dishes themselves were beautifully presented and delicious! The restaurant space has a neat vibe. We had an early reservation and got to enjoy the space with natural light as well as see the ambiance change as it got dark! This might be the best meal that I’ve ever eaten, and I’ve eaten at some lovely restaurants! Kudos to Chef Sandoval and the whole team! We will be back.

Hands down one of the best dining experiences I have ever had...! I’ve lived in Chicago for the last 7 years and consider myself a food and drink lover! When I made the reservations, I had no idea the outcome would be what it was. Every staff member was friendly and knowledgeable. The drink pairings with the food far exceeded any expectations I had. I am used to having a nice glass of wine or bottle with my meal, and I rarely venture out of what I know I like. However, this pairing allowed me to try several different beverages and they went so well with the food!
As all reviews stated, the food is amazing! Each serving I was saying ‘oh my god, that’s amazing’... flavorful to say the least! It’s an experience and an amazing spot to celebrate any special occasion or just life in general!

This is one of the best meals I have had. Absolutely stunning and delightful. It’s a wonderful food journey from ocean to land. The texture, combination and taste are so complex yet exceptionally balanced. The selection of wine is outstanding too.

Excellent service to match the chef driven and extremely imaginative and deliciously tasty two star Michelin dishes. Service is impeccable. The wine list is thoughtful and well curated and will notbreak the bank. The Japanese wagu beef grade 5 - I believe- course was my favorite. Additionally, the preparation on the sea bass was excellent.
