   Several of us enjoyed the early bird food and drink specials, and several ate off the regular menu. All of our dishes were excellent. Really enjoyed the blackberry margarita and the happy hour chicken quesadilla. My husband enjoyed the Chile reano. Incredibly good service. Would return in a heartbeat.

   Food and service are always really good. Noise is way too loud. Can’t talk to anyone if you’re inside. Sit outside if you want to hold a conversation.

   We went during their Happy Hour experience. We had Blackberry Margaritas, which were excellent. All the food on the HH menu was delicious and well priced. Definitely would go back for that. The only downside was that the restaurant was packed (make reservations), and it was extremely loud. I'd go again when the weather is nice and sit outside. Despite being so busy, the wait staff was on it! We were well taken care of.

   The chilaquiles were awful. We also order a bowl, and it did not taste good either. The only good thing about was the salsa beans an chips.

    When I made the reservation, I adde that we were there to celebrate two birthdays. I noticed that other tables were getting a cake and singing but nothing happened to ours. Pretty sad as I assumed it would be a surprise there.

    Good and margaritas were excellent. It’s just incredibly loud in there so it’s very hard to have a conversation with your friends/family.

    Always great food. Best tortilla chips in town! I had the chicken tortilla soup which was filled with a lot of shredded chicken. Great taste. Not too spicy but had kick.

    It was a really busy night for a Monday night and it was super loud. Lots of big parties. Food orders came out wrong, but when we got the correct food, it was great.

    I also ordered a lunch to-go which was incomplete. The server for got the beans and rice and chips that went with it. That was disappointing.

    Zocalo has four excellent locations in the Sacramento area. All are excellent! The midtown is my favorite. I now live in Cameron Park. I intent to revisit the Folsom location again soon.

    Food was delicious, parking was terrible, super busy but no additional attention provided. Even with reservation, was seated next to the door, and did not have the reservation details originally provided. Still a good experience, but not for how much we paid ($250+)

    I decided to surprise my boyfriend and take him to Zocalo for their Valentines days special. We were sat, no one greeted us for around 10 minutes. No one explained how their Valentines special worked. I had to ask someone how it worked and then let the hostess know that after 10 minutes no one had even greeted us. Others around us who were sat after us had been serviced. When our appetizer arrived, it was ice cold! I had to ask our waitress if the appetizer was supposed to be served cold, she said no. I am extremely displeased with the experience especially with the cost being over $200! I won’t ever choose zocalo for a special event. I would get better food and experience elsewhere.

    My boyfriend and I were thoroughly disappointed with our recent visit to Zocalo, especially since we specifically picked this restaurant for our Valentine's Day lunch together. I ordered the Guanajuato, which sounded delicious and was noted as a "customer favorite" on the menu. My bf ordered the carnitas. The steak came out charred on the outside, bloody on the inside. I tried to eat the outer edges, but I couldn't even cut the meat with the dull knife that was provided. What I was able to finally tear off was chewy, grisly and basically inedible. Apologetically, I asked the server to take it back and have it cooked a little more (it was supposed to be medium). When I finally received the replacement, it was well-done shoe leather. Maybe the chef is a newbie (not the case), or the current one needs a cooking lesson on what "medium" is supposed to look and taste like. Basically, this dish was a total waste of money. My boyfriend ordered carnitas enchiladas. A staple for Mexican fare. I expected something creative and tasty- these were just OK. I personally don't care for sweet meat, but cinnamon flavored meat? Yuck. I guess I'll just stick to the burrito bowl and the ceviche... which have always been my favorite Zocalo dishes...but with so many Mexican restaurants in Sac; I am in no rush to come back.

    My wife and I went there for a date night and the service was awful. First, appetizers were brought out with entrees. Secondly, my wife ordered shrimp tacos and she got fish tacos. When we brought it to our waitress’s attention she offered to bring the shrimp tacos but the service was relatively slow so didn’t want to wait another 20-30 minutes. Finally, waitress stated she would take the fish tacos off the bill and she never did. At that point we just wanted to leave. Really disappointing.

    It was overall okay, music a little too loud for our taste tho. Food was not as great as we’ve heard but didn’t go way too below expectations. Drink we’re pretty strong but took more than 40 min to get to our table. It’s not a place I’d go back all the time but whir happy hour is pretty decent

    We went there for my birthday dinner and I have to say my hair caught on fire from the candle holders that was next to the door. They took forever to bring our food to us and when our food did arrived it was not fresh but cold. My little cousin as for a to go box we had to ask more than once because they forgot about us.

    Great place went for appetizers and drinks had butternut squash hummus was extremely good ! Drinks love work shop and mission both perfectly made. Definitely coming back for dinner
