Chef Lewis’s menu is influenced by years of global travel and inspired by Japanese and Korean yakiniku (literally translated to grilled meat in Japanese). The plates are designed to be straightforward and shareable, enabling a warm social environment. Barbecue aficionados will notice elements of American Southern barbecue peppered throughout the menu including the traditional “slow and low” technique. A carefully curated cocktail list features variations of classic cocktails with clever Asian twists.
The space was designed to bring elements of the neighborhood in with raw concrete, local art, and wood and metal accents. The natural elements in the contemporary design are reflective of

The food is always amazing , it was the 3th time I went . But the service was too bad, took 1h 30 min to bring our rice , the one that was supposed to take 45 min to prepare. Probably will never go back again, the waiter just keep saying I’m sorry , this is not the way to treat your costumer.
Loved it. Food and cocktails were amazing. Recommend grapefruit margarita and mule!
Food was awesome, the bill came before we asked for it. Not a welcome feeling..
Why take a 10pm reservation but then close the kitchen at 10:30? It felt rushed.
Outstanding food. Outstanding service. Love the ambience. As always. My 4th time at this restaurant and everything is consistently excellent ❤️
Amazing food! Had the Roasted Cauliflower and also the Burrata. The red snapper was so flavorful and perfectly cooked. Would definitely go again.
Duck breast burnt ends = WOW! Delicious food and loved the organic ambiance. Service was impeccable.
This restaurant serves the finest food I have eaten in a decade. This is not an exaggeration. We have been there a few times in the last month and have tried everything on the menu. Just go you will be impressed.
The food is great and very unique. Service is very good.
I was so excited to go to KYU and my experience was disappointing. The food was pretty good although the spice level was high and menu options were limited. The service was okay... I felt that they were pretty careless. We had to ask to get our plates changed for the main course and they were really rude about it. They also spilled food on my purse... It was all just not that nice
Food and service were excellent; we did the chef’s tasting menu and I would do it again, it was wonderful. I would not do the wine pairing or cocktail pairing again, though. One of us did each pairing, and because of the way the food comes out as it’s ready and is served family style, both are really more of a “sampling” that don’t seem to have anything to do with pairing to the food you’re eating at any given point. If you do the tasting menu, just pick the wine or cocktails you want to try and order those. The sale in the wine pairing was excellent though, so if you’re looking to branch out, add a sake to your rotation.
Jack was outstanding!
Oftentimes we go to restaurants become they are good. KYU is a step above. It makes old things new and new things undeniable. Well done.
To me the best restaurant in Miami so far.
The food is beyond the avarege and the price is good for what you eat!
We went for lunch. The service is extremely slow and unfriendly. The plates are large but the portions are minuscule.
Not worth your money! Will never return !
This was our first time.... AMAZING!!! Words can’t describe how good the food was. It’s a sharing plate concept which makes it even better because you can try various things. I could go on about the food and ALL of it was amazing, the fried chicken as basic as it may sound was phenomenal! The deserts, dark chocolate s’mores and Coconut cake, OMG! Drinks are a bit hot in price but the cocktail that had tequila and egg and pepper, sounds weird but AMAZING! A must go to place and now my favorite in Florida!
I’m a chef in São Paulo, Brazil, and I loved the food and the atmosphere in the restaurant. I took the chef s experience and it was awesome! Really worth it!
This Japanese inspired restaurant had more yummy items than we could try on this our first visit. The mussels in a chili curry sauce were delish, as were the soft shell crab bao, and pork belly bits. Those were appetizers and after we shared them we were too full to get any mains. The Korean fried chicken looked great. Its a big open space, not cozy, but service was great, server was knowledgeable. I'd definitely go again if I was in miami.
Visit for Lunch - This place is great! Original dishes, shame the menu distincts between lunch and dinner, but one specific meal had found my attention, but professionally the way to do it. Another reason to return quickly for dinner :-)
Had one little issue with the dessert, found a little remainder / cut-off from the butter in my Cake. Should not happen but it can happen (could also happen at home) The issue was excellent resolved.
Looking forward going again very soon, probably next week.
Smoked bone marrow - sensational, a wee to garlic butter heavy for my taste
Smoked duck, excellent - could be a little heavier on smoke for my taste
Sweet potato, very original, very tasty, little lesser on brown sugar for my tast
Etc. Dishes I had, I would take all again...., complaints on a high personal level...
love you all! thanks so much, as always. i will be back
One of my favorite places in Miami.
Love this place so much! It’s my go to when I am flying out of Miami. Crab fried rice is my favorite. We went for happy hour so I tired all the apps for $5. Great place!
The cocktail program is quite ambitious yet, we didn’t like not a single one of the ones we had. Mixes are really audacious but it didn’t quite work for us, but that’s a very personal taste.
Overall good experience at a great price.
Good spot in Wyndwood.
In a word, AMAZING! It's always so creative, flavorful and quite nearly addictive!
The tasting menu was amazing. We were two having the experience, I did the classic pairing (a cocktail, a sake, a white wine and a red whine) and my husband had the cocktail experience, with 5 cocktails. The food is great but beware: it is a lot of food. It started with crispy kale and their delicious signature cauliflower. There are some big dishes (like the rice) and if you finish them all you won't be able taste the whole menu with 10 dishes.
Excellent service. Great ambience (lively, slightly industrial, very open). My only qualm is that despite AMAZING dishes on the tasting menu, it was WAY too large in quantity. The cauliflower starter is a waste. Reduced the amount of brisket served. We literally could not finish and left feeling so stuffed to the point of discomfort.
We came to celebrate my birthday. When making reservation l check Birthday, when we arrived we said it’s a birthday. We also told to our waiter, but nothing special. This was disapointing!
Excelente la mejor comida! Todo esquícito 💯💯👏🏻👏🏻
Dining at KYU is always a great experience, food is creative and of the highest quality.
Absolutely delicious food. Loved it.
It was amazing. One of the best meals we ever had and our waiter, Daniel, only made it better! Highly recommend it and ask for Daniel.
Whenever we are in the Miami area, we make a stop for lunch at KYU. The Asian fusion dishes are delicious and the staff is courteous and accommodating. Not to be missed!
Artsy bohemian Asian Fusion set in the hipster gentrified Wynwood neighborhood.
Day Time Visit recommended.
Knowledgeable friendly and responsive staff.
Foodie menu with craft cocktails.
Excellent execution of spirits and food preparation.
Absolutely fantastic food. Our favorite place in Miami. Best craft cocktails we have ever had. Incredibly creative and uniquely made. Food is exceptional. Loved the Broccoli, fried chicken appetizer. Wish I'd gotten the short rib but was too full! Only dish we disliked was the Hamachi Tartare and server took it off the bill. Very reasonable. Happy hour is a DEAL! $5 for GREAT dishes! 4:30 to 6:30. Food was so memorable we wanted to return the next night. Also have been for lunch. Great too. Flavors so unique. Server was very knowledgeable and helped up plan our time in Miami. Wynwood location makes this a fun spot to visit! We love creative food. KYU at top of our list, along with Jose Andres' The Bazaar.
Had a nice meal, though clearly the chef was not there that night. Food did not have the usual finesse, but still good. Pairing was mediocre. Used to be my favorite restaurant in Miami, still a good place. Will see next time.
We got 3 apps, a main course, and dessert. Each dish was absolutely incredible. Try the Goyoza and spare ribs!!
Awesome restaurant .
Great place! Would definitely recommend. Food is superb
We had the tasting menu and as usual KYU did not disappoint, I can’t even pick a highlight because everything was delicious, the Tom Kyu Gai cocktail, which is a hot cocktail, was amazing! And of course the desserts 😍. All you need to make the experience unforgettable is to add acoustic tiles all over your ceiling to protect your employees’ hearing and the one of your customers as well. And also, we do not need the music, I dare you to make it about food and conversation!
We loved it! One dish was better than the next. One of my favorites in Miami!
