   Jansen is our go to anytime we want an exceptional dining experience. From the moment you are greeted to the time you walk out the door, you receive white glove service without feeling stuffy. The food itself is top notch and presented beautifully. I would recommend Jansen highly!

   Jansen is a newer, date night restaurant for us. Great food, white tablecloths, wonderful service. The chef has top rated hotel pedigree. Here, you feel a warm welcome at the door. And very happy diners. Can't wait to go back

   We had a lovely evening. Our waiters were wonderful....very knowledgeable and friendly. We were celebrating our friend's birthday and they enjoyed the night. My husband felt that the food was very good yet overpriced.

   Jansen has done a great job renovating what was a tired but beautiful building. The staff gets all the finer touches of a special occasion restaurant just right. Significantly more refined than other places in the area. Great date/special occasion spot

   We had an excellent mean at Jansen last night. It’s been about a year since we were last there. The food was as good as we remember, and the quality of the service has improved in a very welcome way (last time it felt a bit uneven and intrusive; this time that seemed fully corrected). Wine list is very good. We enjoyed the specials — pumpkin soup, flank steak, tuna steak. The Salmon and pork loan also very good. Didn’t get a chance to sample the desserts as the appetizers and entrees were sufficient to fill us all up! The ambience was great. Bustling and friendly. We look forward to coming back again soon!

    My friend and I had a fantastic experience at Jansen's. Food was excellent as was the service. Waiter could not do enough to please us. I think there should be more marketing to showplace this restaurant. Perhaps articles in the Main Line times, Inquirer and Chestnut hill Local. I will be sure to revisit Jansen's again in the near future.

    Overall had a nice dinner. Ambience was cozy and inviting. Food was too creative ! Very very salty , including the deserts. My fish entree was over cooked, therefore unenjoyable . Good luck

    I took my husband to Jansen for his birthday this week. I love that there is this high-end, high service restaurant right in the middle of Mt. Airy! The service is impeccable. The perfect blend of attentive and unintrusive. We each had a 1st course - yummy soup and delicious tomato salad. I had a steak special and he had a great piece of fish. Dessert was the perfect amount and very delicious. I would totally go back there for a special occasion.

    My husband and I had THE BEST experience last Sunday evening at Jansen! We loved the coziness of the cottage and the friendly staff who greeted us the moment we walked in. We loved our table and being in the elegant yet comfortable dining space. My blood orange martini was perfect and my husband really liked the beer selections. For my first course I had shrimp cocktail. Delicious! Our salads were beautiful and they tasted so good! I had the bib lettuce salad with beets, goat cheese and green goddess dressing. Yum! For my entree I had the lamb on cous cous with cucumber salad. The lamb melted in my mouth and cooked to perfection and the cous cous was incredible! Loved every bite! Then dessert...they have their own pastry chef who bakes all the desserts upstairs! We had three desserts, the banana bread pudding with maple ice cream, chocolate pound cake with vanilla ice cream and the chef’s sampler, which had adorable and yummy bite sized cookies, homemade marshmallows, chocolate truffles and Carmel bars. One was more delicious than the next! Throughout our dinner, the service was incredible!!!! Each staff member truly cared about how we were doing, what we needed and that we were enjoying our meal. It seemed like most of the people dining there were repeat customers who knew most of the staff. We noticed that the owner and chef Dave Jansen went to each table to chat with and check on each guest! How awesome is that?! While we were there, there was a 50th birthday party outside on the tented patio. They had so many staff out there tending to their every need. It was a wonderful place to have a party! We were curious to see what was upstairs in the cottage & one of our waiters took us up there! There is a beautiful smaller dining room with an area for cocktails. It’s a perfect place for a private party! I was so excited about Jansen that I went right home, posted our pics & raved about it on Facebook! THANKS for an incredible experience! Can’t wait to go back!

    This was our first time at Jansen and it most certainly won't be our last. The decor was charming, the food was excellent and the service was impeccable. We started with the crab cocktail with homemade remoulade which was superb. My husband had the salmon, my son the lamb, my other son the Mahi-Mahi special and I had the chicken. All of these were inventive recipes. The deserts were also delicious. I can't wait to go back!

    Who would've thought there was such a restaurant on Germantown Ave! Dined here for our anniversary and while I didn't really know what to expect, just about everything was really good. First of all, the service was fantastic across the board - water was topped, dishes were brought out with explanations, friendly staff, etc. Even though we didn't need dessert, they brought one out for us and comped a glass of wine. Small things go a long way. For food we had the hamachi crudo, burrata, halibut with saffron risotto, and flat iron steak special with cheddar bacon grits. Pretty heavy dishes now that I think about it, but I liked that everything was seasoned well to my taste. Only complaint I have is that the burrata dish was too sweet with too much honey. Wouldn't mind coming back at some point!

    Delightful experience. I brought a friend from out of town and I was proud of Philadelphia. We had a very lovely evening. The service was attentive without being obtrusive. We had lots of time but when we wanted to go, they were quick. All around good experience.

    Chef Jansen stops by tables to say hello and this friendly, attentive service is carried over by the entire staff. The food is simply superb and the cost is quite reasonable for the quality and attention to every detail.

    Atmosphere was sophisticated but a bit stuffy. Overall good experience, but a couple items not up to par. I think this place is a bit overrated. Waiter didn’t bother to ask how we liked our dishes. The other server who cleared our plates asked. We told him the soup tasted like water ... he told the chef. Chef did serve us our dinner and apologized. They did remove from The bill which was nice. The manager seemed to have a little attitude and when we were leaving didn’t bother to say goodbye or thanks.

    Everything was great from the time we arrived to the time we left. The food, atmosphere and staff were all top notch. My wife and I had both appetizer and entree specials and they were extremely good. You can go to other restaurants, but why would you want to? I'm already trying to find a reason to go again. We will be back.

    We celebrated my husbands 50th with his parents last night at Jansen. For appetizers we ordered the Burrata, parsnip soup, and shrimp & crab. All were yummy but the Burrata was amazing! I had a Lemon Sole entree over sweet corn which was very yummy! Bottom line we loved the food & staff (Zachary & Noah) were superb. We will be back.

    Sophisticated environment. Very attentive staff but over the top and annoying. The menu is adequately diverse. Everything I ordered was excellent. I started with the farm and kale salad and the sautéed turbo for the main course. I finished with the chocolate pound with ice cream. It was my first visit . I was expecting a more casual restaurant so I wasn’t excited initially once I was seated. But the staff made me very comfortable as I waited for my friend to join me. Once I read the menu and the waiter shared the specials I warmed to the fine dinning opportunity. Glad I had to wait on a friend to join me, otherwise I would have left. The quality of the food, portion sizes and service made for an excellent evening!

    This was a birthday dinner celebration with a special, out of town sister. We had another wonderful meal served on the patio. The Dover Sole was delicious. Kudos for the special dessert plate inscribed with birthday greetings.

    This was our first visit to Jansen and we were both very happy with our meals, the atmosphere and the service. I had the halibut and it was delicious. My husband had the chicken and he thoroughly enjoyed it. We can’t wait to return. My only criticism is the close proximity of other tables. However, it won’t stop us from dining here again.

    The food and service were both good to very good. But for the price I'd expect outstanding. The patio is gorgeous and the cocktails were delicious. Would go for happy hour instead of dinner next time--it would be easier to enjoy the ambiance and cocktails without breaking the bank on dinner.

    Went to celebrate the purchase of a new house. Wanted it to be special and it was, from start to finish. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable and so efficient. The food was delicious, fresh, interesting, perfect size portions. I had the halibut and the leftovers(not a lot but I wasn't leaving it) were even delicious the next day. I'll definitely go back!

    My wife and I always enjoy our dinners at Jansen's. The food is always creatively developed and presented. Some dishes are truly exceptional such as the Himachi appetizer served this past week. The sauces that accompany appetizers, small plates and large plates are always innovative and wonderful. The room we were in was a bit loud but otherwise a nice experience.
