   We are so sorry to here that Shoto is closing. We have come on 2 occasions, about 4 or 5 years apart, and we just love the concept and the experience, both times. Wonderful food and drinks, as well as interacting with the chefs, who are all terrific. Watching them at work is an education in reverence for food prep and display. love it.

   Food was excellent & I’d go again & again. For that price it is worth it. Before going I was sceptical about the bar seating but was pleasantly surprised at how well it works & is spacious enough that you’re not elbowing or taking sips of the drinks of the people next to you.

   Eating at Shoto was really an incredible EXPERIENCE. The food was delicious, presentation was perfect, and the wine pairings were spot on. This is a very pricey EXPERIENCE, but well worth it.

   Food was great but considering the 125$/per person price tag, nothing I ate left me with a feeling that I needed to rush back to eat there again. Interesting and fun experience overall, blind tasting menu while watching the kitchen staff prepare the courses was definitely an experience, but a one off for me, as in my opinion I can get a far more enjoyable meal for half the price or less at other spots around the city. Service was efficient if a little nonchalant.

    This is the best restaurant in Toronto and maybe all of Ontario. The staff and food are the best we have ever experienced. Such a shame it is closing soon. Doesn't make any sense. We will miss it greatly!

    So glad we made it to Shoto before the Momofuku redesign! Every single dish was artfully prepared with super fresh ingredients, with many flavor profiles I had never experienced before. If you're even a mildly adventurous eater, this restaurant is more than worth the price of admission.

    Enjoyed a spectacular and delicious 10 course tasting menu experience. Opted to order cocktails and wine separately which worked out splendidly. I am vegetarian and other members of the group did not have any dietary restrictions, they were fabulous accommodating me and made dishes that were to die for (they didn’t just give you meat dishes with out meat which has happened before at other places). Would recommend but it is an expensive experience so be mindful of that.

    Part of the Momofuku Restaurant Group, Shoto was an experience of a dinner. Having been to the NYC locations, as well as the DC restaurant, I have been a big fan of David Chang for many years. Seeing that there were 3 restaurants plus a MilkBar all in one building, I knew that I had to try it all. The tasting menu at Shoto is definitely the top experience, but there is something to be said for the large format dinner on the same level. Getting 16 courses (if you count the amuse bouches) for $125 Canadian is a good deal, but factoring in the exchange rate in our favor for once, the USD goes a long way. I thought that the food was inventive and fun, the service staff was on point (especially the somm). I would heartily recommend this tasting menu and plan on coming back again soon.

    Incredible experience! Took my girlfriend here for her 30th birthday. It was both of ours first experience with a tasting menu and we were blown away. Amazing food, excellent staff and chefs, and all around awesome experience. Would recommend this experience to any one and the tasting menu is absolutely worth the price!

    Loved the food and the chefs, a,though the first few courses came before our cocktail, which I don't like... The other thing is why ask if it's a special,occasion if you don't acknowledge it. It was our 29th wedding anniversary on that date yet no one except the two couples beside us iacknowledged it. Why bother asking.? The Matre d. Said everyone has a special occasion, which kind of insulted me. Would it have killed you guys to offer up two glasses of prosecco? I think not. Many other restaurants do and the customer is not paying. 125 a person plus drinks...which we had a lot. Just something for you guys to think about.

    This was my second time at Shoto's Chef Tasting. I love being able to watch them make the dish in front of you and the explanation of each dish. The service and food is exceptional. I would highly recommend the Chef's tasting.

    Been a number of times. This time was lacking. Under seasoned. Wine pairings were only ok and how they were presented was rushed and ill-informed. I'll be back because I've enjoyed the previous visits. If it happens again, I'll need to reassess.

    Had flowers delivered for my wife. Restaurant told delivery person I had no reservation. Florist was across the street. I ask for the restaurant to run across the street and pick up the flowers. They refused. I had to pick them up myself. Surprise ruined.

    The tasting menu is fantastic, with a great team and a wonderful open kitchen. Great to see how the food is prepared and plated in front of you. Everything is explained and we asked loads of questions and they were happy to answer. I would recommend the wine pairing as this will give you a number of fantastic wines to enjoy with the meal. Certainly not an everyday experience but well worth it for a special occasion.

    The best meal we had in toronto! Everything was done incredibly well with top notch taste and precision! If anything, I wanted some bread to soak up every broth and sauce from every course. Please go! You won't be disappointed

    The experience was great. Loved the setup, facing the kitchen and the chefs and watching them prepare the dishes. The service was also great, always filling up our waters and pouring our wine. For the price, it wasn't a lot of food. We were still a bit hungry after the meal, even after we had requested more bread.

    My fiancé and I came to Toronto for a concert and some time away from the kids and decided to try out Shoto. It was simply amazing. The food was unreal and was just enough. The presentation was gorgeous and the knowledge of the staff was superb. We also chose to have the wine pairing as well and it was well done. We had an amazing beer to start us off that was suggested to us and we both loved it and the complexity of it. It was a great palate cleanser between courses. We were extremely impressed and would definitely go again.

    The tasting menu at Shoto was stunning. They were pretty much all amazing dishes but the one thing I couldn't stop thinking about was the sourdough bread and sweet butter!! Wonderful experience, the pace was great and amount of food was perfect. Pricey but a nice treat once in a while.
