   Frankly, I was disappointed. I made a reservation, and our table was not ready when we arrived. We did not have to wait long, but still... I ordered the escargot as an appetizer. I felt it was just "so so". I have had much better at other restaurants. I had the French Dip for my main course, with a side of asparagus. Both were okay. My dining companion had the French Onion Soup. He said that was good. He also ordered the truffle fries. The server did not bring the aioli sauce that he ordered with the fries until the fries were almost gone. The wait staff seemed rushed. We both had one glass of one. They were very small "pours" for $15 per glass. Overall, it was not bad, but I would not return. There are better choices close by, especially for the price point of this establishment.

   Not great! Booked a birthday dinner for my husband and friends. Service was not there. There was an obvious situation of a staffing issue for the night. Our "waiter" came to the table all of 2 times. After an hour I actually had to get up and ask for someone to take our dinner order. This was supposed to be a special evening and was less than memorable. Our guest asked for a salad to be split, they threw an extra plate on the table after asking again. No extra drinks were able to be ordered because the waiter never came back. This was not a case of someone calling off it's a problem of no staff. People are running around like a chicken with their head cut off. The hostess tried to do the best she could (actually taking our order since no one came to). I would NOT recommend this place. Decor is great. Food was ok. Service is not there.

   I used to love the left bank, great service and great food. The food quality has gone down, service is not the same anymore and waiter needed to be asked to take orders. I used to book this place all the time for team corporate dinners, I likely won’t be doing that anytime soon. The place is still nice looking but it seems more like it’s trying to survive than the once trendy and posh place it used to be. It’s not too late, they need to kick up the food and service a notch and get back in the game.

   Food was great. Service was ok. Noise level was annoyingly high, probably because of the screaming child a couple of tables away from us and a few inebriated folks in the other side of us. But if we wanted a nice quiet place to eat then we should’ve went somewhere else, I get it. But damn, shut your kid up and show some consideration. And if you’re going to act like a loud drunk person then go to a bar. Thank you.

   My favorite place for a Mother's Day Brunch. This place was certainly busy, but the food came out hot, orders were all correct and everything was delicious. The wait staff did a great job hustling, too!

   Left Bank had been our go-to for pre-movie dinners on Friday nights for over 10 years. But over the last several years they've chipped away at many of the things used to make it a standout. They've cut back on the menu offerings, including once-popular menu options like steak frites which, according to waiters and managers was always a strong seller. Prices have continued to rise as portions have shrunk. They continue to offer 18% as the minimum default tip option on bills - on top of a 5% "cost of living" fee, which is just so annoying. None of these are big items in themselves, but for us every change has been for the worse. We'd been ok to absorb the higher prices and reduced value in the understanding that their costs have been rising and we've wanted them to survive and thrive. But last night we felt disappointment rather than the delight that we've enjoyed for so long. The place isn't bad - it's busy enough - and is consistent in terms of quality and value with other places in Santana Row, which is to say, driven much more by location than by great dining. It's too bad. Left Bank used to feel like something special, but now it feels like just another Santana Row restaurant.

    Party of three and had the filet mignon, french dip and nicoise salad for lunch. Filet mignon at $38 was tiny but good. French dip sandwich was huge and good. The nicoise salad at $31 - one of their signature salads - was disappointing. Three thin slices of ahi tuna and overall meager. More an appetizer than a lunch salad. Bread is available for extra charge. Wine selection was decent. Great outdoors seating. Service decent but very rushed. Not sure why. It was a weekday and they had plenty of open tables. Ok experience for $200.
