New Year's Eve Menu
We have dined satisfactorily at Carmen's on numerous occasions but this past visit was quite off. The noise level was VERY high due to a wedding cocktail hour only steps from the dining area. We ordered three bottles of wine before they actually had one available. Ordering a second bottle required yet another switch. The friends that dined with us ordered pappardelle pasta and got fettucine instead with no explanation. So if I had to describe our evening I would say "Just OK" which is not the norm for Carmen's.
This is the 2nd time we’ve dined at Carmen’s 2.0 and we were pleased yet again. The atmosphere, services and food are top notch. The same staff waited on our table and they were just as stellar as the first time we visited. Our entire party enjoyed every bite from appetizer to dessert. We certainly recommend this restaurant and would dine there again when we are in town.
Waited long time to be seated. No one on duty. Ran out of martini glasses. Lame excuses for poor service given. Duck entre was overdone. Loud screaming and annoying group activity was disturbing. Hosting rowdy Tommy Hilfiger group. Limited entrees. Would not return.
Having dinner at Carmen's 2.0 Restaurant was very nice. The service and the food was outstanding. The restaurant is located inside an old train station which has been kept in pristine condition. The marble walls and marble ceiling have been kept in the original condition.
Dining at Carmen's 2.0 Restaurant was truly a superb experience.
We enjoyed the dinner and the beautiful view of the renovated hotel lobby. Great value for bottles of wine. Service was also excellent.
Small menu makes for great quality food. Service was a little slow, but the ambiance made it seem relaxed and appropriate. Prociutto wrapped shrimp over polenta was to die for.
Very impressed! Great from start to finish. Great value.
They needed more service people to accommodate us. Having a staff of three or four was not enough. The pricing of the food did not match the quality. I have eaten in many restaurants were the quality, quantity and presentation were less expensive. This was my first time back there from years ago and I am sorry to say it has diminished. I guess the days of having Caesar salad made table side are gone.
We have been dining here once or twice a year for several years. While it was good, it seemed that the quality and selection had slipped slightly. Very friendly staff!
My friend and I enjoyed the excellent service and food. The waiter was awesome. Everything was perfect for our meeting. Although I am not a resident of PA, I would recommend Carmen's to any of my friends who were visiting the Scranton area. Excellent night out. Thank you.
I wanted a special place to take my wife of 25 years ,it did not disappoint .We had a great time and the food was very well done ,staff was very friendly and thoughtful. Will go again.
Very nice. Jazz brunch.
We had a lot of personal attention by our server Laura, as well as the other servers who brought our drinks and refilled our water glasses. It was a Monday so it wasn't overly crowded, but we did appreciate the service. We had the Signature Misto Salad (dressing was excellent), Pappardelle Bolognese and Panzanella Chicken. All delicious. The ambiance was great - I'm so glad they repurposed the old train station with it's beautiful decor and marble walls. They don't make train stations like that any more!
The food was really good. The service was okay,
The food was great and the staff was pleasant
Servers were very nice and attentive. Our meals were good.
Excellent meal, impeccable service
Great experience. Food was beautifully served and delicious.
Had the caesar Salad which was delicious I followed it with a bone in veal chop with tomatoes over polenta
It was outstanding. The service was great and attentive
Will be back
Went for mothers day. Extremely poor service. Not enough help. Felt bad for server who was running around trying to get to everyone. Very scattered service.
Overcharged on Bill. Had to speak to manager. And double charged on my credit card. Won't go back to buffet again
The pricing for Mother's Day was not obviously advertised, so I was shocked when receiving the bill (which took approx 15 minutes). I understand that holidays are busy, but they why not staff two more servers?
The hostess tried to seat us right next to the door, which was being held open the whole day by inconsiderate humans (it was 50 degrees out). We were able to get a better table, but the service was quite slow.
The food was just ok. Maybe it is good for NEPA, but it was underwhelming for someone from NYC.
I wish Scranton had more options for Mother's Day Brunch. Maybe next year we will stay in and cook.
We went for Mother's Day brunch 2018. Food was delicious. Huge variety of options: omelette station/healthy grain station/French toast/Belgian waffles with toppings/seafood/salads/dessert bar. . Pastries were fresh. We have been there many times in past, including special occasion brunch, and have been satisfied (but not overly impressed). In last year, we have been there for brunch 3 times and it has been wonderful each time. The grand ballroom is beautiful, the staff was very kind (they went out of their way to make a fresh Belgian waffle for our family since they were out at time) and helpful. Definitely a great place for Sunday brunch! Will definitely return!
Mother's day brunch was much better than the disaster that was last year (horrible wait times, exasperated customers, poor service). It's expensive, but the ambiance is nice and the food is good. I miss the old days of flowers for moms, valet parking, and live music.
Excellent Mother’s Day brunch, friendly and open to grandchildren ages 2 to 8. Outstanding food, great service, a little pricey.
This place is amazing, great food, outstanding service and just gorgeous. Its a great call for a group or just if you want to dine in a unique ambiance. Last nite we had a family dinner of 15 and they couldn’t have been more accommodating . Its going to be my new go to soot!!
Food and service was excellent. Best ribeye steak I’ve ever had.
$30 per person brunch. Lots of selections but mostly local foods. Selections do not justify cost. Been to other places that offer the same for half the price.
It was wonderful! Frank was amazing as always and the food and bloody Mary’s were on point! Always a great choice
Carmen’s is a true hidden gem of Scranton. We came in for the First Friday Wine Tasting menu. From start to finish, the experience was top-notch and it was a great spot to have dinner with friends. Very extensive drink selection. Our servers, Frank and Judy, were very attentive and anticipated our needs throughout the meal. I really appreciated the manager Adam coming to check on us a few times as well- it showed the excellent level of service. The restaurant was very busy, but you never would have noticed because each course was served with perfect timing. I can’t say enough how amazing the food was. It was contemporary and well-executed, each course was better and better! The menu is very creative and made it hard to pick what to have. Hats off to the Chef de Cuisine Chris J and his team for a wonderful meal and experience, I can’t wait to go back!
I have dined several times at Carmens but this time was an absolute disaster. We had confirmed reservations for my family for an Easter brunch at 3:30 p.m.. We arrived at 3:15 p.m. to find a line of close to forty people waiting to be seated, some of them with reservations for 2:30 p.m. There was no one at the maitre'd station to answer questions. One person in line said that a staff member had informed them that the restaurant had over-booked and that combined with too few staff had led to the delay.
When the maitre'd was able to return to the station (he was out on the floor busing tables) he was unable to give me any estimate of how long it would be before we could be seated. I informed him that I and another membr of my party were not able to stand for great lengths of time and his only suggestion was that I go and see if there were any seats in the adjacent bar.
Needless to say, this was quite unacceptable and we left. Our Easter celebration was ruined.
I have written a complaint to the restaurant directly but as yet have had no response.
Easter Sunday with famil
Every one was nice, but SundayBrunch was not well executed. Chafing dishes with sternos too small keep the food warm. Salad dressings without signage. Salty gravy. Saving grace - the staff and the dining room. But the food needs to be elevated to make this place great.
Out for our anniversary and wanted to try something close to home yet different from what we’ve done before. Food was delicious, service was outstanding! Would definitely go back again for any occasion!
Lovely place for a dinner prior to show. Really enjoyed the evening and the shuttle to and from our show was fantastic!
Its been a long time since we've been to the Radisson and we forgot how beautiful the architecture is. The restaurant was very good, the service was great and the ambiance was nice and quiet so we could talk and enjoy the evening.
The only thing that could have increased my experience was perhaps a piano player or other entertainment. I definitely recommend it and will be going back as soon as we can.
It was noisy when we first arrived. There was a wedding cocktail hour. The manager assured us it would be quiet soon . He was right. We felt very welcome and were told there was a special menu for the theatre that night. Worked for us!
Excellent waitstaff. The lobby is the old train station and has the original marble . There was music playing but we could still have a conversation. The tables are not too close together so we did not feel crowded.
We had a limited menu but everything on it is also on the regular menu. Very original and delicious.
We plan to go back.
Reservations were not really needed as there were very few people in the restaurant. Our waiter was nice and attentive. However, the over all service was slow. It had taken quite a bit of time for our meal to come out. The food was good, but nothing really special. The reason we had dinner here was because it was in the Scranton Lackawanna Station. And I really like trains and the history behind them.
We went on Valentines day. Our meal was great, the issue was with the service. We have been there in the past and never had any issues but this night was different. I don't know if our server has never waited tables before or accustom to a different place. She was not that good. She was slow and had difficulty with the limited menu that the offered for Valentines day.
My husband and I were in Scranton for a weekend event and had our Valentine's dinner at Carmen's 2.0 while we were in town. The restaurant area is incredibly beautiful and the food was delicious. Great service as well. Everything was just perfect.
