Farfalla - Los Feliz
Trattoria Farfalla in Los Feliz, California, is home to fine Italian fare with a fresh California-twist. It serves tantalizing dishes in its warm and cozy atmosphere. An antipasti dish such as the polenta e funghi corn cake topped with mushroom sauce makes for a great start to your meal. Trattoria Farfalla has baked and stuffed calzones, as well as pizza, like the unique “alla Brasiliana” topped with skirt steak strips and chimichurri sauce. Pasta dishes, such as the ravioli di rapini e patate stuffed with broccoli and potatoes with aged ricotta, are some of diners’ favorite meals.
Trattoria Farfalla also has take-out and delivery options, so you can enjoy its incredible cuisine in the comfort of your own home. There are also gluten-free pizzas and pasta substitutions available.
Delicious pasta, great wine selection and spectacular service!
Farfalla was a go to restaurant for me when I lived in Echo Park in the 90's. Now I am back in the neighborhood and can still drop by and gorge on Pasta Norma. What a lovely tradition to fall back on. And, while it feels a little more grown up inside, it's still got all the lovely touches, personal service and comfort of the early days.
Delicious delicious!!! Seated right away. Felt really homey and comfortable. Service was a little on the slower end but the staff kept filling drinks and checking in. Certainly wasn't an issue as we were taking our time eating. Large selection of menu options and had lots of gluten free options! Would definitely go back. You won't be disappointed.
this is our go-to restaurant. We had three bad meals in a row, and were beginning to lose faith. Just bad luck. Dinner the other night was A+ and just fantastic. These folks were early to farm to table. Good quality. The penna arrabiatta was killer, albeit even a bit "angry" for me.
Amazing service and food! Def going back! Food and service is amazing!
Rather average meal. I was quite impressed with Farfalla 2 years ago, but I'm trying to remember why. I celebrated my friend's birthday there a few nights ago. I had eggplant Parmesan and the sauce looked and tasted like a thick tomato soup. My husband is allergic to both tomatoes and potatoes and he requested not to have these two items in his dish. He had chicken piccata and you guessed it; both items were on his dish! All in all; Average taste. Service was very good and they brought out a Piece of tiramisu cake with a lighted candle for my friend’s birthday and the cake was good. I won't be returning to this restaurant, though, as the taste and quality of the food was just average and didn’t match up to the price. I would choose Palermo's over this one. There wasn’t one moment where I took a bite of food and said “mmmm”.
Sweet looking place right on Hillhurt in Los Feliz offers an ambitious menu. Sadly only 1 of our 3 dishes stood out. The other two were just mediocre, agreed on by the 3 diners n my party. The ambiance and wait staff were lovely.
Always a reliable go to place for a quiet meal and good food.
Excellent food and service!
Forgot to serve an entree and one entree was too spicy to eat.
We love Farfalla, and have been going there for years. It's just gets better.
I have been coming here for 14 years and it never disappoints. They are also very willing to respect your dietary needs and swap things around. Great service.
This was our first time and we were thoroughly impressed. We enjoyed the halibut special and the tender flank steak. Excellent service. Wonderful family-owned Italian restaurant. Perfect for a great meal before our trip up to the Greek Theatre. We’re looking forward to returning.
Excellent food and fast friendly service!
Food was great we were a party of 11 before a concert. The service was excellent and chill at the same time
The food is excellent!, the night we were having dinner it was very busy. We waited an hour to get our meal. But they made it up to us by giving all of us a glass of wine, and dessert at no charge
Just got an overall, we’re too busy to be nice vibe from this place. From the first person to tell me the host will be with me when I asked, to just getting water and a drink order taking too long, to asking for more water and iced tea. I dunno, I’m now disappointed will likely not go back again anytime soon
Do not go if you want something special. Farfalla USED TO BE a great neighborhood gem. But sadly that is not true now. Italian food has come along way since 1995 but Farfalla still serves dishes and prepares them like the 90s. The sauces are too heavy, the flavors are muddy and nothing is put on your plate that makes you happy you went to the trouble to go out. And tragically the pasta is overcooked as well. It would be a welcomed restaurant if it were in an airport, because the food is poorly imagined, given in a factory like fashion with NO SERVICE. Our waiter took FOREVER to come to our table and take our order and then took forever to return with the food. And throughout our meal, never once checked back in with us to see if things were OK and if we needed anything. We complained to the host at the door and he did very little. Several other people in the surrounding tables around us felt the same way that the service was no where to be found. WORSE service EVER. Nothing special about the food or the place and the service is horrible. It's sad because we used to really enjoy this place.
We are new to the area and have been here a few times with our family. Everything we've tried has been terrific. The menu offers a wide selection, the food is created with fresh and flavorful ingredients, and the service is friendly and attentive. They even gave us a delicious lemon cake for my son's birthday. We'll keep going back and recommending Farfalla to friends.
The manager (Alphonso?) was awesome. He took our order while we were waiting for our table and served us wine too. Great job. We will be back in two weeks and looking forward to it! Thank you
Great meal for dinner prior to Greek Theater.
Would go again, even if did not have Greek event.
Seafood linguini was and Tiramisu were amazing.
As usual the food was excellent and the service was fantastic. A meal at farfalla's is like a meal with best members of your family.
One of my very favorite dining experiences is Farfalla. The food, service, wine... are always excxellent.
Our family's weekly Italian spot. Great food, excellent food, friendly staff, great value.
Farfalla always impresses me with how they make incredible dishes so tasty . Pasta is pasta...but not here. At Farfalla pasta is an experience and one you remember and taste until your next visit just so you can order another dish. I've had pasta, pizza, polenta, soup and salads here and each time I'm amazed what they can do. Thank you
Pre Greek theatre.
Entire wine list was out of date and the waiter didn't know what they had to replace it with. Everything took longer than it should have. Sad to see this restaurant turn into a kind of hapless establishment.
Farfalla is always a solid choice for dinner with friends.
We had a grat dinner
Homemade pasta was done perfectly
Pizza was very good and one of the best ceasar salads
The choice of chardonay could have been alot better, however my husband liked the pinot grigo
We were seated at the reservation time, and the resturant was very busy due to concert at the Greek.
Good food, but this is LA and there is good food everywhere. Won't be back until the bust thru the wall next door and make this place bigger. Disconnect between the amount of diners (lot's) and the size of the dining room. Too close, too warm, too loud
The staff and the food are equally of superbly high quality!! Thank you Farfalla, you're a uniquely amazing place to dine.
A nice family Italian restaurant with large menu and neighborhood feel. Very informal (kids certainly welcome) with reasonably large menu and wine list. Prices are modest by LA standards. The food was quite OK -- not what I would term memorable, but reasonable value for the price. My dinner companions agreed. I'd return for a pleasant, modestly priced meal in a very informal setting. Would probably not return for the quality of the meal.
It was great.
Food was phenomenal.
Service was great.
Thank you for making a special night.
Went there on a Wednesday not very crowded unfortunately the food was just OK I would not write home about it.
Excellent! One of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. Great food and service.
We had a good friendly meal. The amatriciana was delicious and the salads were great. The chicken picatta was a little gummy from its breading and sauce and the pizza was slightly underseasoned but not so much to ruin things...
Farfalla never disappoints! Delicious food, friendly service. Great neighborhood restaurant.
Never a disappointment.
Great neighborhood place to have wine & appetizers & dinner. Interesting wine list. The bar side is a bit louder than the dining room. Outside seating too. They do have a parking lot in the evening which is a bonus in that part of town, parking is a premium. We were with a large group for an engagement party & the staff was very accommodating. Would definitely go back again & need to try the pasta tossed in the Parmesan wheel.
We usually get delivery from Farfalla, but decided to eat at the restaurant for our son’s birthday. It was such a wonderful experience and the food was even better coming straight from the kitchen! Service was excellent too!
