Lemonokipos (Greek word for lemon-tree garden) is a modern Greek restaurant, located in the heart of Rethymno City, overlooking the central Mikrasiaton Square right next to the Mosque Neratzes and other important monuments.

Located here since 2000, it is set in a beautiful garden. With an elegant but friendly atmosphere ‘Lemonokipos’ is the ideal destination for each occasion.

The restaurant offers a menu that combines rustic Cretan and Greek flavors with more refined and sophisticated plates that pay tribute to the region’s great culinary traditions using only the best indigenous ingredients.

The menu is complemented by a carefully curated wine list with a selection of premium and organic Greek and Cretan wines, local beers and spirits.

Dine al fresco in the gorgeous garden brimming with fragrant lemon trees or share small plates as the locals do in the cozy interior sitting area overlooking the bustling Antistaseos Street.

    Amazing experience overall, from ambience and service to food. The place was recommended by a friend and didn’t fall short. There grilled octopus was perfectly soft with an amazing flavor. The Arni klefiko melted in your mouth and the sea bass my husband had was delicious!

    A beautiful place! With sunny weather you sit outside. The food recommendation from the waiter was on the spot! Greek portions! I couldn’t finish mine. The ambience was relaxing & leaves you the feeling of sitting in a garden. I can only recommend! If coming back to Rethymno I would definitely return!

    Excellent food and service in lovely garden. A bit more expensive but worth it. Online table teservstion possible and I recommend to book in advance.

    The fried squid were amazing. But also the traditional dishes with goat and lamb were great. The atmosphere under the lemon trees is very nice and the staff does a great job. Definitely a place to return to.

    The food was okay. But the fact that you don't offer a single vegetarian main course is not okay. The waiter was unfortunately also overwhelmed to offer an easy vegetarian alternative like pasta with boiled vegetables. Not for vegetarians. Otherwise gladly.

    This was a very good experience. The food was amazing especially the lamb. It’s got a lot of cats running around and the best place to be is under the lemon trees! Highly recommend.

    Amazing food and beautiful setting. Really great service and best meal we had in a week in Crete. Mussels and beef fillet / cheeks were to die for
