This is not their best Capital Grille. Poor ambience, service ho hum. Food was fine, but this location can’t compare to their other locations. Our evening, in addition, was ruined by the massive perfume coming from table next to us. Of course, this not their fault. They simply said, ‘Oh yes, the smell ruins the flavor of the food.’ We’d never go back to this location. Given the massive choices in Chicago, this was a below par choice and disappointing.

wE had a delightful Anniversary Dinner at the Capitol Grill on Friday night. We asked for a quiet table and got booth #1 which was perfect. They had the table decorated with glitter..included a glass of champaign and a complimentary dessert as well as a lovely note. Great touches. Paul was our waiter and did a very nice job! Perfect evening!

Capital Grille is always a wonderful experience highly trained friendly staff with exceptionally good food…. The prices are a tad expensive so it’s always a special occasion spot but always the place we go to when the time is right. There are a lot of great steak houses in Chicago, but this is without a doubt the best.

This location overbooks there capacity. Our last two dining experiences we had had reservations and had to wait 45 minutes and 90 minutes two years in a row. Go somewhere else if you don’t want to stand in a mob as the manner has no clue

The only reason Capital Grille was not a perfect 5 was because we were seated 30 minutes after our reservation. I understand that it was Thanksgiving but over time data should inform how you better manage. Maybe you set a 2 hour time limit to eliminate lingering diners, especially during peak times. I will say however that management recognized the inconvenience and provided a delicious egg nog cocktail gratis for those of us awaiting being seated. Still, despite what is intended to be constructive critique, I would recommend this Capital Grille as one of the best premium steak houses that we have ever dined.

Considering it was Thanksgiving Day - they did a great job of keeping reservations, and reducing drama for patrons. Two of us had the Thanksgiving Dinner (a very reasonable price of $50 each) - it was very good. The turkey was extremely moist, but the green beans were under-cooked and hard (why do restaurants do this, we have experienced this in many places). Our guest opted for the lamb chops, and she said they were the best she had ever had. Very tasty. The bread basket was wonderful - -chock full of yummy comfort! The pumpkin cheesecake was heaven - topped with a creme brulee sugar crust. We had a wonderful booth, I would argue that it was the best booth in the house. Thank you! Our only other comment would be regarding the sound system - -there was jazz music playing, which is fine, however it seemed as though something was wrong with the sound system. It was extremely "tinny" sounding, and we and our guest found it to be very distracting and annoying at times. With the high energy in the house, the addition of music probably was not necessary that day.

This was my first time here. It will not be my last. Loved everything about Capital Grille. EVERYTHING. Best steak I've ever had. They treated us like VIPs because it was our 30th anniversary. Our server, Blake, was just so charming. That dessert plate we brought us was OFF-THE-CHARTS. LOVED IT. Truly.

Our experience was outstanding! The server was kind and cheerful. Extremely attentive to our needs. And overall had a great attitude towards us and her job. The surprise dessert despite not ordering one was the cherry on top! Thank you for making our night one we’ll never forget. We will be back.

Marvin our waiter did a great job of staging each course so we were not hurried. He also made a great red wine suggestion to go with our steak. Steak was out of this world - properly cooked and seasoned and very tender!

We had both excellent food and an amazing server. It had been several years since I ate at the Capital Grille - it won't be that long the next time I visit. The cobb salad with filet steak and the salads with salmon were delicious. The cheesecake was sooooo good.

I went here for my birthday and I must say everyone was so friendly!! My server was phenomenal!! I definitely left him a big tip!! Even my busser was awesome. I just had to tip him as well!! Overall a wonderful experience!!

We were greeted and seated immediately, I did have reservations. Our waiter was extremely prompt and offered recommendations. Our drink order came very fast. The bread basket was fresh and provided shortly after we sat. We ordered a salad and crab cakes as appetizers. Both were so fresh and delicious. For our main courses, we ordered the lamb and Filet Mignon with a side of potatoes for the table. The meat was seasoned perfectly and the potatoes were very well prepared, definitely a home cooked from scratch taste. The requested temp for our meat was just as we asked 🎯 Even though we were one of the last guests for the evening, we didn't feel in the least bit rushed. We'll definitely be back!
