"World travel and its pleasures; items brought back from different places for décors; great stories shared with others; and very importantly, simple, yet delicious recipes from different cultures. Our mission is humble. It is simply for people coming to our restaurant to be transported around the world, and to travel with us for an evening, to a place of well-being and happiness."

Bleu Bohème is designed to create a feeling of France's past generations. It mixes the Bohemian and artistic free spirited left bank of Paris with the roots and tradition of the rural areas. Bleu Bohème is a neighborhood restaurant that serves accessible, affordable and comforting French cuisine.

I've been hearing so many great things about Chef Ken Irvine's Blue Boheme that I had to drive over to Kensington and see what the hype was all about.

I started with a Basil Martini made with Pinnacle Vodka from France, of course, fresh muddled basil and a hint of citrus. With that I had an outstanding escargots appetizer. The happy hour menu had Escargots with herb garlic butter, Pernod and tomatoes, the dinner menu had Cassoulet d'Escargot snails, mushroom, fennel, leeks and shallots with provençal butter. Mine was evidently the offspring of their coupling, I for sure had fennel, leeks and shallots, lots of butter and with a hint of cayenne and paprika, wow, some heat. With the Sadie Rose sour dough wheat bread it was so sopable I wish I'd had a dozen escargots but I'm glad I moved on so that I could sample some other menu items.

Next was the Croquettes du Crabe with remoulade and saffron aioli, two crab croquettes on maybe a jicama slaw with arugula and cherry tomatoes. I was thinking Sancerre with my great server, Angela had me try, from the Vins Blanc au Pichet menu, the Delais St. Esprit 2016 Côtes du Rhône Blanc and I was sold. I had to pass half of pichet to ladies at the bar since I was going to try another wine with the next nibbly.

Then it was the pièce de résistance, Chef Irvine's special for this evening, foie gras torchon with roasted black grapes, honey pear puree, rocket greens and fresh warm brioche. With that, again Angela's recommendation instead of my usual Sauterne, was the Lillet, a wine-based aperitif produced in Podensac, near Bordeaux. It's a sweet and fruity dessert type wine. A good pairing and Angela suggested I try it with champagne next time.

I can't say enough about the restaurant, ambiance, service, and OH THE FOOD! If I were truly crazy I could do this ever other week maybe or until I'd exhausted the menu

We travel 30+ miles to eat at Bleu Boheme from time to time. The attraction is primarily great food, but it's also a pleasantly intimate atmosphere. Great service, pleasantly delivered. It's a good place for a date or for special occasions.

We went during restaurant week and were disappointed with the food. We were disappointed to learn when we got there that one could only order the fixe price and nothing off of the regular menu. So one person who did not wish to eat the entire fixe price was forced to order it. The beef was extremely fatty and was not good. The onion soup was very good. We were looking forward to the gingerbread which was such a small portion and appeared to be stale. Very disappointed especially during restaurant week. We overheard someone say that the regulars dont come during restaurant week.

I have been meaning to try this restaurant for a while and when I saw there expansive SDRW menu I knew it was the perfect time. This place did not disappoint. Everything was delicious from the complimentary bread to the Creme Brulee. It was a busy Wednesday night but we were served pretty quickly. I would definitely go back! The cocktails are also delicious and reasonably priced. 10/10 would recommend.

I love this restaurant. Every room has its own special ambiance. The service has always been very good and the food is delicious. I love duck, but it seems to be a difficult dish to cook because it's hit or miss at most restaurants. Well, Bleu Boheme nailed it! Perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy and flavorful on the inside. The mussels (and broth) were also amazing! I was so pleased with this entire experience. Well done, Bleu Boheme!

This place blew away my expectations! I took my GF here for her bday on Sunday night. The first thing we noticed walking in was the beautiful ambiance. Every table had a marvelous wax candle burning so elegantly in the darkness.

Our food was delicious! I had the moules and my GF had the smoked salmon appetizer. Both were outstanding, in fact the last time I had mussels that good I was in Paris! For an entree I had the NY steak and my gf had the scallops. Again, both dishes were top notch! Our desserts were the creme brulee and bread pudding. Everything was on point and I could probably have eaten 2 more creme brulee's...it was that good!!

I'll definitely be returning to this establishment!

The food and beverage selections are surprisingly numerous given how well everything is prepared. The seafood selections are always done very well with perfect flavors. There were 4 of us there for a dinner celebration of our wedding anniversary. Each of us enjoyed the escargot and a flatbread, the bountiful and fresh salad as well as tap beers, cocktails and wine. The entrees were also tasty and well prepared. The mussels and broth tasted exceptional. We have always enjoyed our meals when dining at the restaurant, but because everything is done so well, it makes celebrating an occasion there special. Thank you.

Hadn't tried BB in awhile. Went with another couple on a Saturday night - early (7p). We arrived early, and were pleasantly seated right away in the "main" room. I brought a bottle of wine; Sarah asked about cocktails, and if she could open the bottle so it could breathe. We said yes, thanks, to both. We had a sparkling rosè suggested by Sarah - dry and bubbly; just right. Salads were fresh, delicious, and just the right amount of dressing. BB has about six variations of fantastic mussels; my wife chose the cream with white wine - huge, moist, tasty, and plentiful. Two of us had ravioli 'maison' (several mushroom varieties in a very fresh ravioli in a cream sauce - yummy! Sarah (and a redheaded waitress whose name we never got) did an outstanding job of keeping us happy. Try this French bistro in Kensington - you won't be disappointed..
