   We tried breakfast menu. The pizza and coffee was good but the avocado toast was just awful(tarty/too salty). Overall it was ok in experience. I would not recommend the breakfast atleast.

   Coffee came out cold. Couldn’t order extra drinks because the server forgot about us. Toast was so burnt it was inedible. Food was cold.

   We had the Heirloom Cauliflower and Chickpea Salad. Both were very very good. Ordered the Chocolate Bread-pudding for dessert….. delightful. We were very pleasantly surprised by the food.

    Had a wonderful time at Sonsie for my girlfriend’s and my 6-month celebration. Our waiter, Colin, was very attentive and helped us right away when we had a question about allergens. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the entrées (I got the duck and she got the stuffed chicken), however, the $19 octopus appetizer was a very small portion. Over all, very good ambiance, food, and service.

    The only part i didnt like was the new GF crust. The old crust you had before was so much better! Was a main reason for coming here as Im celiac and that old crust was far far superior in my opinion!

    Sonsie is a great time if you are looking for a nice place for drinks/dinner in Back Bay that has a great menu that is not too overpriced for Boston. The menu has something for everyone, cocktails are delicious, and service was excellent!

    I haven’t been to Sonsie in years but based on our positive experience, we’ll be back again soon. Loved the ambience and the food was sooo good. I had the the Bolognese which was surprisingly light and very tasty. Others had the roasted cod which was also excellent.

    This was a wrap up business dinner with two colleagues. The food was good and the service was decent. It was a quieter evening in the restaurant and we were able to hold conversations and enjoy each others company.

    Let me preface this all by saying the hostesses and our waiter were lovely, but that's all I can that's positive. 1) they were out of French fries, 2) my Wired's kale Cesar salad had no kale and would barely pass for a side salad, let alone a brunch entree salad priced at $19. 3) the kitchen out mint, not basil, on my daughter's pizza. The food overall was sub-par. What used to be a reliable, albeit over-priced, neighborhood bistro is now just over-priced.

    We arrived, and noticed our table wasn’t balanced to the point where our drinks and plates were sliding off. We approached the hostess, where she was really nice to help fix that. Meanwhile, Javier (our waiter, or at least the name on the receipt upon checkout) Approached us asking what we wanted, and when we requested to order a (my friend ordered alcohol), a margarita pizza, and for myself a regular-coke product than alcohol - I received an eye roll. After we placed that order, Javier never came back to check on drinks, or service. *My friend, was planning on ordering several alcoholic drinks. He only got one since Javier never came back to check on us. On top of this, as my friend and I were already at the establishment for an hour and Javier hasn’t come back. We proceeded to request for the check from the kind-woman who was pouring us more water earlier. We would have ordered several alcoholic drinks, and were planning on having desert. At this point, we just wanted to get out. He never came back, except to take our check (after having to ask someone else to get him.)

    We have been going to Sonsie for over 20 years when we lived in Boston and now when we travel to Boston. This was the worst experience we have ever had at the restaurant, and we will not be returning. The hostess was unwelcoming, dismissive and seemed like we were bothering her getting a table. Our waiter was very friendly. The food was very flavorless. We had avocado toast, tuna tower and hamburgers. In addition many of the items on The very limited brunch menu were not available. All of the servers gathered chatting at the end of the bar rather than checking on their tables. Half of the lights were not working in the bathrooms downstairs and made it very difficult to see. Sorry to see a fun Boston restaurant go down the tubes.

    Visited 11/26, 5:30p. Empty restaurant and folks trickled in after. Nice ambiance with candle-lit tables. Lots of tiny tables in front, don’t see how you could have a meal there. We opted for the more comfortable/standard tables in back. Perhaps it was “change of waitstaff” shift but we waited a while for service while a group of servers were joking with each other and within arms reach, never noticing us. We eventually asked for service. The server who did attend to us was wonderful. Menus are not was as posted on website. Bottled wine list in restaurant offered one selection per varietal (one Cabernet, one Pinot Noir, etc.). Entree menu is also not the same as on website but rather offering one chicken dish, one pasta dish, etc.. Perhaps effects of COVID? Overall, good food, good service (eventually). Enjoy.

    This by was was the worst restaurant we have ever had the displeasure of visiting - EVER. False advertising to start by stating they had weekday brunch menus but did not mention not all items available on Fridays. Rude waitstaff with ultra long wait for service, food was atrocious - we were served with zero effort on presentation, it was Luke warm , and burnt toast…clam chowder was less than half a bowl…DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT.

    Extremely noisy, impossible to have conversation. Food is mediocre, no flavors. The only thing that was good - our waiter who took orders. The waiter, who brought water in the beginning, could not hear in the noise that we were asking for sparkling water and kept pouring tap water. Bathrooms - half of the sinks and toilets are not working, floors are dirty and covered with thrown toilet papers, no paper towels, no sanitizers. The restaurant is very crowded, proximity of the tables is inappropriate for pandemic. Someone from another party was literary sitting at our table, so close it was. Overall, overpriced, overrated and pandemic unsafe.

    Place was packed. It took us 20 min to order drinks and 1 hour after ordering food they came to us to say that the waiter forgot to tell the food my boyfriend ordered it wasn’t available anymore. Unfortunately it was a very stressful experience.

    I have gone to Sonsie numerous times and I have never been disappointed. The service, food, and ambiance are excellent. There's a reason Matt Damon held his New Year party there.

    No jalapeños for the spicy margarita. No shrimp for the appetizer. No smoked rosemary garnish for the drink. Waiter takes one entree e order and leaves. We had to flag him down to put the others in. One entree came to table the others did not. Two hamburgers ordered medium came straight from the refrigerator to our table once they discovered only 1 of 3 entrees were delivered. Come on, get it together Sonsie.
