It was truly one of the most memorable experiences I have had. So much more than “dinner”, a journey of flavours leaving you with the biggest smile on your face. Attention to detail by all the staff was amazing, everyone seemed to go out of their way and go the extra step to make you and your evening special. Thank you for the memory.

This was our second visit and it did not disappoint. There are so many great things to say about Gary Danko, but one thing we appreciated about this fine dining experience compared to others was the flexibility in choosing how many courses we wanted. We each opted for 4 courses. My husband enjoyed two glasses of wine that he thought were excellent. I did not see a green salad on the menu but hoped I could start with one, and the one they sent to the table was perfect. Every course was delicious but the cheese course, where we each picked 4 cheeses off the cart, was the most fun and amazing. The chocolate soufflé with 2 sauces was also “an experience.” Our server JC was the exact right amount of attentive. Gary Danko is where to go in SF for a special occasion or just to eat delicious food with impeccable service. Highly recommend.

Gary Danko is simply an outstanding restaurant. We enjoyed the 5 course meal with wine pairings. The food is excellent and exquisitley prepared. One interesting part of Gary Danko's approach to a 5 course meal is that you have a choice of several different dishes for each course. My wife and I each chose different dishes for several of the courses. And the wine is paired to the specific dish. So, we each had different wines. The paired wines were all excellent. If we had any issue with the meal it is that the helpings are somewhat sizable and we were both completely full by the end of the meal. This is not like several other tasting meals that we have experienced where the helping sizes are reduced. Fortunately, the restaurant offers 3 course, 4 course or 5 course selections. For next time, we may go with the 4 course selection. The level of service is unmatched at any San Francisco restaurant. We want to particularly recognize the two servers we spent the most time with. First, our primary waiter was named JC. He was outstanding- friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The other was the Sommelier Carson. We have had wine tastings at many fine restaurants around the world, but Carson was the most knowledgeable sommelier of any we have experienced. And Carson was able to explain why the particular wine matched with the specific food. We were amazed that we spent 3 hours for the meal, but the time seemed to go by quickly, in large part due to the outstanding and friendly service. We have eaten at Gary Danko in the past, and think this restaurant just continues to get better and better over time. We will definitely be back!

First time at this restaurant and celebrate my anniversary having a lot of fun with my wife, delicious food and drink. The only thing you have to pay attention is the noise we’re sitting close to the bar so it’s hard for us to hear our conversations. Also, the five courses meal took about three hours to complete to me is quite long before our experience is great and I strongly recommend people to experience this fancy restaurant.

We had a terrific dinner at Gary Fanko. The main courses, in particular, were delicious. We’ll be back!

The food and service were great. The dining room was a little noisy as it was full. Even though they lost one star, Gary Danko is still the best in my book for that special dining experience to celebrate special occasions.
