The tables are too close, it is as if I'd be taking part of the conversation of my neighbor tables...no privacy at all.

Whoever's cooking in what must be a tiny kitchen hits perfect notes with unlikely combinations over and over again. The food here is just excellent, in two meals with 10 dishes everything was terrific. It's tiny but the staff manage a very high level of service despite the matchbox setting. Not cheap but worth every penny. Great cocktail and great if small wine list.

Like smaller venues for dinner. However at 9:45PM they were sold out of virtually everything. Hard to enjoy a place when you are forced to choose dishes that would be your last choice. Im baffled by the to-do over the chicken. It was over done and tough. It had good flavor but that was it. Not sure what the logs on my plate were, but they were not appetizing. Lamb was sooooo fatty. Salad was good but the sashimi was somewhat bland. I would not rush back if ever.

I was surprised at the easy laid back feel to Mimi. It was really warm and inviting and the staff were kind and seemed to be having fun. The rilette was amazing and the bib lettuce salad was fresh and delicious. The tartare was a bit odd however, as the meat seemed ground rather than chopped and it was sweet rather than spicy. I like the novelty of the approach but it just wasn't my thing. But then there was the Parisienne gnocchi. Home run. All in all, we had a great time and would happily recommend Mimi to everyone.

Horrible experience. Food was over cooked.....almost inedible. Restaurant called to confirm the reservation using a blocked phone number. Suspect the over the top internet ratings have been posted, not by patrons, but by the management.

Charming restaurant. Best sweetbread I've ever eaten. Ordered baba sur hum based on Adam Platt's review. It was good but way too heavy. Next time I'm ordering the soufflé !

More bar custom than diners, certainly early on. The wine is overpriced and poor quality, cocktails better. Fairly standard new wave US/fusion. Fluffs of detail - overcooked fava beans swimming in too much sauce (but good puree). Wait staff not particularly friendly or competent - the greeting was, Oh, so there's just one of you? (hey, thanks for making me feel welcome). Many efforts to upsell. A disappointment.

Let's say good food is a given at innumerable New York restaurants -- never to be taken for granted but more the rule than the exception. The intangibles that make a thoughtfully prepared meal into a memorable experience -- and one you want to return to -- is the kind of alchemy you find at MIMI. This French postage stamp of a bistro always seems to be aglow, buzzing with good conversation over a wonderful meal and a satisfying wine. The welcoming but low-key staff/owners ensure that every table's experience is personalized. This was our third visit with more to come.

MIMI is a great new restaurant that has a neighborhood feel. The menu is French focused but pulls in a multitude of culinary interests to create some truly amazing combinations. Additionally, the bar is fit with a great mixologist to start your night off right with a crisp cocktail.

Come on! We look online and the menu is appealing. We book a Sunday dinner and only after we're seated are we told there's only a pre fix option and only one appetizer, one entree, one dessert, and the kitchen, at least on Sundays is not ruled by its regular chef. Might this be like a Sunday special pop up? No, and the restaurant really needs to be more transparent about its Sunday offerings.

Cute little intimate french restaurant- a good date spot! The food was delicious. We had a pre-fix Valentine's day dinner. I'd say the salmon appetizer and the Mimi chocolate cake at the end were my faves! The cocktails were good also. Good for a special night out.

The ambience is relaxed and I can take my time enjoying the meal. The place is quite small and I'm not sure if reservation is a must. I say, make your reservations. The door was locked when my fiancé and I arrived at the restaurant. It's dim, romantic, and the noise level increased later in the evening. But again, the place is quite small so it will become loud as the place becomes crowded. The complimentary bread was nice and soft. The butter was tasty. I'm not sure if it was made in-house. Then we both shared mussels for our appetizer, which was oh so delicious. The mussels was drenched with some liquid that was creamy and flavorful. I had the main lobster and he had the roasted chicken. The chicken meat was made very well, moist and rich in flavor. The main lobster also had a great flavor to it. It had a distinct flavor that attributed to such an expertise in using spices and ingredients beautifully. Give yourself time and enjoy your meal.

I loved this place! It's a darling tiny cozy friendly place with fantastic food and cocktails. We sat at the bar and really enjoyed Justin, the bartender. They have a great playlist of music too. I'll definitely go back to Mimi and recommend to friends!

One of the best steaks I've had in a long time, the wagyu strip for two was incredible. Sliced through it like butter. The veal dish was amazing as well. Finished it off with a baba au rhum, cake soaked in liquor. Oh yea, the cocktails are great too.
