Frank's Oyster House & Champagne Parlor

4.5
4.5
345 Reviews
$31 to $50
American
Frank's is the second restaurant of Sarah and Felix Penn, their first is Pair, located in the same neighborhood. In addition to oysters, the craft cocktail parlor and favorites like fried chicken and a top notch burger keep regulars coming back. The rustic-swank interior is appropriate every night but can make an occasion special as well.

Frank's Oyster House and Champagne Parlor is always wonderful. We went re-opening night and had not only did we have a wonderful meal (and Champagne), we also felt very safe. They have a hand sanitizing station when you walk in and, of course everyone was masked up. Their menu is available via QR code at each table for those who do not want to handle the paper menus and they were seating tables 6 feet a part. They have a couple of small tables outside as well. Thank you Frank's! We will be back soon!

This is our favorite "go to" for oysters with friends. We like that we can make a reservation and that there is a happy hour with reduced prices. This time our visit was the best yet because of our waiter. I wish I had caught his name. He was excellent! Charming, attentive but not intrusive. Just the best!

The service was great. The presentation and food choices unique and flavorful. The wine selection was varied as well. The portions however were very, very small. We ordered a tasty mushroom gnoochi dish to share for $25 and the full portion was about 3/4- 1 cup of food. The same was true for our other items. Oysters, of course, were lovely - but a dozen cost us $35. Glad we enjoyed it - as we can't afford it again.

Affectless wait staff. “Large“ plate gnocchi had about 7 gnocchi for 25$. Husband’s fried chicken was excellent and he shared a biscuit so I didn’t go hungry. Noisy for a small place.

Casual, fun place to have Sunday brunch. We enjoyed our oyster po'boy sandwich, fries and chicken/waffles. Also nice to have bottomless mimosas (3 was my max!). Parking is a little bit of a challenge, but otherwise it was fine. I'd definitely recommend reservations since it's on the small side.

The evening started out headed for 2 stars, but they made a miraculous recovery! We had a “counter” reservation for two at 6pm. They sat us instead at a table in the main dining room, and the ambiance in there is markedly less cozy and intimate than the counter in the “parlor” side (which is apparently first come first serve despite asking on Open Table if you want table or counter). Was a bit disappointed since this was our first fun night out after a long Dry January! Decided to just stay at the dining room table instead of moving to the counter (after being too slow to nab a couple stools at the cozy counter). We then waited for about 40 minutes before we could order and had more than water to drink on the table. :-( Despite that disappointing start, the server was very nice and the food was great (especially the chocolate cake!) Will go back and try again, being sure to grab a spot on the parlor side!

The food wasn’t all that great—bland flavors and not much to write home about past the first course. It’s unfortunate that this was our first time trying this place out, with a prix fixe menu at that. We did not get our money’s worth and the prices surrounding the menu were a bit facetious. The service also took forever, with us waiting 15 minutes or so between 4 courses.

Went to Frank's for brunch. The menu had a great selection, service was excellent, and the food was tasty. The best part was, unlike some other popular brunch places, you aren't crammed into a loud noisy room. Excellent ambiance!!

I really really wanted to like this place. We had 5 people and tried many dishes. Only the oysters ranked as good quality. Their so called famous fried chicken was dry and predominantly batter and the ravioli was very undercooked and doughy. The lobster rolls tasted like thick pieces of bread wrapping flavorless lobster meat. My mother in law to this day keeps apologizing for taking us there. I don’t write reviews and definitely try to look for the good in things, but we spent a fortune and it was just a total let down.

Love love the small plate selections, consistently good. For an oyster house there aren't very many oyster offerings (usually three), but what they do offer on that front is high quality. Great spot.

This was one of the best meals I have ever had! The lobster roll duo was a true delight. The roll was light and crisp, but still soft and buttery. The lobster filling was also light and fresh, not too much dressing, so you really taste the flavor of the lobster. The wedge salad had bits of pork belly, which packed each bite of crisp green lettuce with lots of flavor. Our cocktails were also amazing...strong, but not bitter, you tasted the concoction, not the alcohol. I don’t live in Washington, but I love traveling to Seattle and would definitely come here again on a future trip.

I don't fault them for trying but, the food at Frank's is not good. The menu is a bit scattered too. I mean if you can't execute on small plate offerings then don't offer them. I'm quite certain you need a small army of well trained staff, spacious kitchen, to do small plates well and Frank's seems to have neither. Focus on core competancy and refrain from trying to reivent the wheel. My dad ordered a Crab Louie Salad and what he got was lettuce tacos!

Great experience all around, from being greeted at the door to cocktails and oysters to our main courses. I recommend the buttermilk fried chicken as one of the best comfort food meals I've had in a long time. It was recommended to me by our very pleasant and witty server, so I suppose he gets all the credit for my recommendation to you. I was part of a group of four and everyone loved everything that was brought to the table. Casual, tasteful atmosphere. The bar looked like a cozy spot too. We'll be back! Note: One person in our group was restricted by food allergies and the server and kitchen were very understanding and accommodating!
