Lincoln Park Kitchen & Wine Bar is Located in the Capitol Hill Neighborhood of Washington DC. Lincoln Park was initially used as a dump. During the Civil War, it was the site of Lincoln Hospital and was among the places visited by Walt Whitman, who was visiting injured soldiers. In 1867, congress authorized the grounds to be called Lincoln Square (now Lincoln Park) as a memorial to the former President, it was the first public site to bear his name.
Lincoln Park Kitchen & Wine Bar features a menu of Traditional American Cuisine, inspired shared plates, wines from around the world and specialty house cocktails. The menu emphasizes such cherished American staples as Fried Chicken, Shrimp & Grits, Jumbo Lump Crabcakes, Hush Puppies, Pastas, Flatbread Pizzas and Cheeses.
Our passionate and educated wine staff are eager to introduce you to your new favorite wine and to expertly pair it with the Menu. Bon Appetite!

Great neighborhood place on capital hill without the noise of H St or 8th st. Sometimes they are out of certain menu items. Definitely make a reservation on weekends. Very friendly staff.

Enjoyed a great meal at this unique neighborhood kitchen and wine bar. Loved the wine list. Definitely try the lobster bisque and the root beer short ribs. Yum! Next time we are splurging on dessert. Intimate restaurant that makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in the door.

Wonderful dinner and reasonably priced. We were seated in the basement area which did not have much ambience. Got to see everyone going to the restrooms since they are in the basement too. But excellent service and the food was interesting and very, very good.

We went there for my Mom's 75th birthday celebration. The menu was inspired and had a nice variety. That being said, my sister, my mom and I all ordered the Lobster Bisque. It was delicious!!! We shared the bacon, onion, fig flatbread, and we each had our own entrée. My sister didn't care for the first drink she ordered, a specialty cocktail, so they gave her a glass of wine instead and took the cocktail off the tab. We ordered dessert, and I mentioned it was a birthday. The dessert was delivered without a candle, but the waitress came over, and apologized (she was in the bathroom when they delivered it), and they gave us 3 glasses of complimentary prosecco. It was a very lovely evening.

We got an Open Table reservation for six an hour before we arrived for a 7 pm reservation. How awesome to easily get a table at a popular spot with views of Lincoln Park. Flax seed covered fried artichokes, shimp and grits, porcini risotto and flat breads were all well received at our table. Known for their wine list, but the cocktails are key. An always gracious host and friendly staff. Glad it is right around the corner from me.

Our second time visiting in 3 weeks. First time was superb and second time was ok. I put the slight disappointment of the second visit down to it being a holiday weekend and the Resto being busy. I had asked for duck medium rare and it was presented well done. If it wasn't a neighborhood resto I would have sent it back but service, ambiance and the fact that it tasted ok i didn't want to do this. I think more attention needs to be paid to the cuisson of the food. But otherwise it's a nice place we would go again. The food is simple home style cuisine - nothing fancy - but good

I live a block away and decided to come by for a brunch date. We sat outside since it was nice, and service was attentive. We ordered the veggie omelet and chicken and beignets. Both very good, but I wish they would have noted that the chicken was just a small piece. I was expecting a quarter but it was even less. It was quite good though.

I can't believe this fantastic restaurant is just a two minute walk out my front door, how lucky is that? My husband and I and an old friend had a wonderful meal at Lincoln Park Kitchen, starting with imaginative cocktails (like my Manhattan on the Park), wonderful appetizers (Porcini mushroom cheese ravioli for me) and truly creative mains (lamb chops to die for - singed black on the outside but still talking on the inside, how do they do that?). The chef is to be commended for taste and presentation. The proprietor host was so welcoming, and our extraordinarily tall waiter Aldo was helpful throughout our most enjoyable meal. The place was hopping that night, but we didn't lack for attention, we ate and drank our fill and were not horrified when the check came. We will be back soon!

A group of friends went to Lincoln Park Kitchen and Wine Bar for brunch and it was delightful. Our waiter was pretty busy, so more servers might be helpful. I did request salsa for my omelet, so more condiments would be much appreciated. Over all it was delicious and fun!

Party of 7 dining on Saturday night in April 2016 was looking forward to trying out a fairly new neighborhood restaurant that had been recommended by friends. Most agreed the food was very good--especially the mussels, scallops, short ribs, and crab soup, so "Bravo" to the chef. And the prices were quite reasonable. But the tone of the experience was repeated again and again as our server told us they were "out" of all but 4 listed cocktails at 7 pm, our wine choices were unavailable, and there was only one order remaining of the freshly caught sea bass she recommended. (Actually the chef or owner delivered that news to us sometime after two of us had ordered the bass: "Bad news...one of you has to decide...") Our marathon-running server was thoroughly embarrassed and apologetic and warned us that there were only two servers for both floors of the restaurant but she was quite attentive to our needs when she was available. We repeatedly assured her that we weren't blaming her for the myriad issues we faced and we remained empathetic to her situation. So, in sum, very good food but terrible restaurant management. They need to find a restaurant consultant pronto.

I hope that they were just short staffed and their terrible service is not a regular occurrence? I'd like to go back but I don't want to have to wait 45 minutes for my food to come out. I had to flag the waiter down to get him to take our order after sitting there for 20 minutes. However, food was delicious.

Just walked through the door after dining here for about the tenth, and last, time. I ordered their lamb chops which were so salty, they were inedible. Even my boyfriend thought they were inedible so it wasn't just me. I requested a side dish to replace the inedible lamp chops but the waiter took my plate to the manager who came back to my table and said the chef would try again. The second plate was just as inedible & salty as the first. Even the manager said there was nothing he could do since the issue was with the brine and not how the chef cooked it. I ate the side item that came with it (a small portion of fava beans) & nibbled off my boyfriend's plate. When the bill came, they charged us the full $23 for the lamb chops even though I couldn't eat them. When I explained to the waiter that I didn't think it was right to charge me for an inedible dish, he smiled & said not to worry about it, that he would remove the item. The manager came over 5 mins later & told me that they cooked the dish twice & they were to going to charge us for it. He thought it wasn't salty & since he could eat it I shouldn't have had a problem. He was extremely rude & seemed to want to pick a fight. Not once did the restaurant apologize or offer me a replacement dish. It's not like I ate the entire dish & demanded they comp us for it. So, we paid the bill & we will never, never, ever, ever go back there again. If serving inedible food to your diners is acceptable then that's fine. And if a $23 inedible lamb chop is worth losing a loyal diner, then that's fine too. But I can guarantee that you won't be in business for long. The manager's extremely poor attitude to his customers in addition to his lack of customer service skills have cost him my business. If anyone asks, I will make it a point to direct them to another restaurant that is more deserving of a diner's time and money.

The food was just OKAY and that's it, from the bartender to the server, to the Manager the service was horrible. The mistake I made was not taking heed to the reviews that I read and I have to say that most of the negative reviews I read were dead on! The Apple Cider chicken dish was flavored well but not prepared well, the chicken was a little tough and over priced. The Crawfish bites were served with a butter and the combination was not appetizing, my dining companions were not pleased with the mussels and or their cocktails. Our server had zero knowledge of the menu, our Bartender was not the best at stirring or mixing up a good cocktail, nor was he very friendly. Look my friends and I wanted try someplace new and this place didn't work out, though I do feel as if it has great potential.

When you say "hidden gen", this is it. Not on the main drag or what's thought of as Capitol Hill's restaurant rows--H St. NE or 8th St. SE--this is the only restaurant on Lincoln Park. Once you find it, you'll find great food and welcoming service. And the price is right, too.

Our server was very nice. We came in at 8:15 Sunday night and there was only one other group there. According to the waitress they'd had a very busy weekend and that's why they were out of everything on the menu we were really interested in. The crab cake tasted like it had been deep fried in old oil, and the pork tenderloin was just ok. The bread pudding was good. Sunday is our preferred night to go out, so we probably won't go back.
