Tanners is located inside the beautiful Pasea Hotel (across the street from the beach). We met friends for Sunday brunch and everyone was happy with their food and we had excellent service. We sat inside uncertain about weather, however, on a nice day the outside tables are better for oceanview. There is no self parking available but they do offer a reduced valet parking fee of $8.00 (up to 3 hours) with Tanners Restaurant validation. There is a nice bar upstairs (21 and over) that has great oceanviews.

First time here and I was not impressed, we went to the wine festival that was held at the hotel then decided to go for dinner here at Tanners. The food was average at best. We ordered the corn on the cob appetizer which consisted of 3 little cobs with some butter and seasoning, we kindly asked the server if the chef could prepare it in a dish with the corn cut off the cob, small request and many other restaurants do this gladly, not here we were told "No, they couldn't cut the corn off because the chefs were too busy" Too busy doing what? Preparing our meal? Which is what they should have been busy doing and preparing it to our liking. Nope they couldn't be bothered and were condescending about it. Well Sorry we are too busy eating at other more agreeable and willing to please establishments than to waste our time and money here. We won't be back.

The waiter Matt was MIA most of the time. Very inattentive.
If champagne was an option with brunch, no one told the hostess. I asked but she said drinks were a la carte. With brunch you would expect at least on mimosa.

The price was reasonable, service good, but we both got sick from the food...we think it was the calamari appetizer we shared. My husband was sick within an hour, my "discomfort" started after I went to bed, I ended up spending the rest of my birthday in the bathroom. Not a great start to a new year! Contacted the restaurant and told them.

Our server was very friendly and nice but the issue was that I was at the hotel for a night. Had 2 rooms for 2 birthdays. Invited other friends to join us for dinner (reservation for 9) but everything took so long to get....appetizers took 30 minutes, drink refills were 15 minutes, we sat at 7:45 and were served dinner at 9pm
Food was very good but just very slow getting out and a steak was under cooked
I just spent about $1500+ for an evening at the restaurant and hotel
Expected more

First time at Tanner's for lunch. Usually go for dinner. It was the same top notch service (our server - Matt) and food was terrific, especially the lobster Mac and Cheese. Took two friends who had never been there. They were very impressed and will return. Happy to live near a restaurant of such quality, and not too overly expensive!!

We enjoyed our time together, eating good food and good conversation. We were not rushed out either after our meal. One friend was accomendated because she took one bite of her meat and she did not like it, but our waiter took charge to make her happy. We left very satisfied.

Food is incredible but the service and overall dining experience is lacking. Servers would forget drink orders and leave plates out on the table far past dining was finished. Expected superior service for the price of the drinks and entrees at this restaurant.

The service nice! The outside dinner was a bit to load for us! If you set outside you expect it to be more quit than inside. Banging music load. Food average. For A $600 room I expected alot more. This was almost like staying at a Quality suit. Instead of like the W hotels. We enjoy the W hotels the staff is very friendly,Helpful, loved there jobs. Here we checked in very serious not friendly. Did not get us a Bell man to take our bags up. I had to walk around to look for someone. Nice older man did help us BUT forgot to tell us about the amenities around the hotel, just dropped the bags off. Did not show my husband how to work the tv. Just little things that make a $600. room very special. We do not mind paying for a great hotel especially on our anniversary BUT this place is just average. We could have stayed anywhere else and I believe we will next time. Also the people in the SPA very uptight. Not relaxing. I usually spend alot in a great place. Plus I usually buy all the products the girls use on us not this time>

Sorry!! Ill Look for the W next time or a place like it.

Excellent views of Huntington Beach and the pier! Indoor and outdoor seating, however I would highly recommend sitting outside. Great cocktails. AMAZING Mexican street corn! EXCELLENT Shishito burger, you could taste the smoke from the grill and the peppers were not spicy! One semi-downside: you can see the Pasea Hotel pool with all the swimmers and their towels if you look in that direction.

I’ve been to tanners on more than one occasion for brunch & dinner. A little pricey but love the vibes and ocean view so I guess that dampens the hit to your wallet when the bill comes. Glass of wine could range from 12-16 dollars, and a cocktail is about $14-$18. Did prices stop me from ordering a Flowers on the wall cocktail? Nope! Loved it. I am in love with their Calamari!! It’s honestly to die for and isn’t made like the typical fried calamari you are used to. Great organic half roasted chicken $25 (I ordered mashed potatoes on the side about $8 extra). They make a delicious pineapple upside down cake with ice cream on top. It is made in a cast iron skillet so it’s warm and fresh when it comes out! Yummy food, drinks, dessert, and great views! Cons: pricey and service can be a little slow :( but try it and enjoy it.

The only complaint I have is the slow service, and not outstanding customer service. There was nothing exceptional I can say about the people that helped us/sat us/waited on us, which was 3-4 different people. Not especially friendly. We sat down for almost 20 minutes without being helped. Our waiter must have been new. We could hardly hear him and his service was slow and awkward. The food, however, was fantastic, great selection. Definitely a place for a nicer dinner. Great cocktail and drink list. The ambiance here was incredible, so fun to dine by the beach and the treehouse lounge was amazing, again, we went up there and were not helped for about 15 min. Would recommend if customer service doesn't matter to you, because the food and environment were outstanding.
