2nd time eating here, and it exceeded any and all expectations...AGAIN! If you want pure gastronomic perfection...run, don’t walk to Gabriel Kreuther. You will not be disappointed...truly...
Excellent food and service. A bit pricey but worth it.
Fabulous! Would definitely come back. One of my most favorite dining experiences.
Best dining experience with very very impressive prestige wine pairing.
I think it is much better than French/American cuisine I have ever had, such as EMP, modern, Jean georges and Joel Robuchon.
Prestige wine pairing decorates the cuisine very much and the food triggers the best taste of wine.
The food was very good, unique and different from a typical menu for the most part. The service was impersonal, very slow and lacked the crispness you would expect at this price point. We did the six course tasting and it took almost 3.5 hours. Way off pace! Compared to the Modern, Le Bernardin, Daniel etc. GK has a ways to go.
Super venue for high quality unique dishes, high touch service and fantastic wine pairing. A special venue for the special night out.
Wonderful meal. Definitely has the wow factor. We will definitely come back!
They just got their second star! Well deserved. A superb place, worth every penny. The 3 course pre-theater menu was just the ticket for beginning a wonderful evening. One can not go wrong here!
This was our 1st time at restaurant. We enjoy everything about the place, food, service and embiance was outstanding.
We will definitely be back.
There is a reason this place received a Michelin star. The service is outstanding from start to finish. The food was amazing. My wife and I are foodies and dine out frequently. So, for this place to excite us the way it did speaks to how delicious the dishes were. A must try in NY for those who can afford it.
Terrific experience. Food was superb, well presented, beautiful and delicious and attentively served. The 4 course prix fixe had many added chef treats that were inventive and wonderful. I would highly recommend this for a s special occasion restaurant on par or better than the best in NYC.
Beautiful memorable 6 course meal and wine pairings. Only downside is how much they upsell you on Jambon or Caviar for appetizers and cheese plate after your meal...when you've already ordered dessert. Its deceptive becuase I thought a fixed meal us supposed to be just that a d we were already full. So dont ask us to eat or pay more!!
After our dinner, which was perfect, I gave some tip, but our waiter came back telling me that I had to give a tip of 15-20 % ! I think this is very rude and impolite to tell me what kind of tip I have to give. We had this week also dinner in Uchu and The Modern, where they don't wanna have tips at all. I suggest you to introduce that system as well, which is much better, for the price of a dinner in your restaurant is expensive enough I would say. In Europe we eat for the same price three Michelin stars !
Top notch dining experience with outstanding food and service! Will definitely be returning.
Ill never go back to this restaurant where the sommelier had some inapropriate comment about my girlfriend .. Not sure you want to listen to him telling your girlfriend how much he likes her neckless when you are celebration a love anniversary and be intimate ... Even better as she was on the phone texting her son he followed her ...
Absolutely amazing. The service is impeccable and the 6 course tasting menu was a wonderful experience.
Service was outstanding, magnificent ambiance - loved table 35.
The food was not only delectable & exotic, but so artistically presented on unique vessels. Each course impressed us more than the last.
This was the most decadent dinner I have ever had the pleasure to enjoy.
Fabulous meal. They have an à la cart menu, or a six Course or nine course tasting menu which you can have with wine pairings if you want. Food is perfect. We had the 9 course tasting which changes every day. The chef chooses for you. They do not rush you and pace the meal perfectly. Everything from the bread to the atmosphere to the dessert was amazing. Great place for a special anniversary or date. I highly recommend.
It was my girlfriend’s birthday, everything went smooth in charming environment, outstanding service, fantastic presentation and delicious food, very professional and friendly staff. We had a very great time there and have a plans to visit them again.
Fabulous food and service . It was our anniversary and everyone ensured we had a perfect meal
We came here for our wedding anniversary having read all the positive reviews. The food was very good. The service, however, was very poor. Servers were friendly but inexperienced. Mostly of Mexican and Asian origin with bad English, we could barely understand the explanations of the food being placed in front of us. It took ages for them to take our order, bring the champagne etc. etc. We paid close to USD 800 for a four course meal and wine. Disappointing for what it was. Frankly, Kreuther does itself as major disservice by skimping on properly qualified staff. Similarly, the pours for the wine (by the glass) were so ridiculously mean that at one point I actually had to ask the server to fill the glass properly. We will not be coming here again. If you want great French food, fantastic ambiance and excellent, knowledgeable waiting staff don’t come here.
This was an outstanding meal and would highly recommend it. Only disappointment - I wasn’t told of the significant upcharge for a special hot appetizer I ordered. Only learned of this once my bill showed up with extra $110 charge. Would have ordered differently if I was told this upfront.
The place it's just a treat for the senses! Every detail has been planned carefully. They made of my husband's birthday an unforgettable one. Thank you!
Wrote on open table that it was a birthday. And confirmed with restaurant about birthday personally. No acknowledgment or candle or special dessert. Just sad. Food good but a lot of bread to fill u up between courses.
Wonderful from beginning to end!
Great food, excellent presentation and high quality service. Cant go wrong with Gabriel Kreuther!
We had an excellent dinner here. Especially dessert and wine!
Fantastic food and service in a great location and venue.
In a restaurant like this one would expect more privacy. There are too many table and too close to each other thus making the level of noise just too high to appreciate a good meal. Food is he best part, exquisite and with reasonable options for any menu. Service was poor, we sat at 8:pm for a 2-starters, min and dessert and the main course was only served at 10:pm. We had a long and tedious wait after the second starter that took away our appetite. Wine list remarkable with lot of expensive wine and also economic options, a little bit short of midrange american reds,
Always a great time at Gabriel. Great food, excellent service
Everything from start to finish was top notch! Service was AMAZING! Would highly recommend!
We sat near the window to kitchen which was still far away from seeing the action but fun. I had 3 perfect fish dishes and the fig dessert. I loved the different bread with each course idea. It was beautifully and simply prepared gourmet french food, if you like that sort of thing. The room was beautiful. The wait staff filled my water glass after each sip and brushed the crumbs off the table after each bite- i would have preferred less fuss. The staff was wonderful and very solicitous. Definitely a good place for a special occasion!
Extraordinary experience, as always. This restaurant deserves to be recognized as one of the very best in NYC! Creative, attentive, precise yet relaxed, one of the best anywhere....
Our 1st visit was a couple of weeks ago with a party of five. Food was outstanding. Specific items on the tasting menus are selected by Chef with dietary restrictions allowed. Courses came out with at least a couple of variations around the table, which is a plus for sharing bites. Plating, creativity and tastes were superb. An excellent and interesting cocktail selection was available. A wide ranging wine list across geography and price points and a helpful Somm resulted in selecting a well suited few bottles. Service was generally good, but a notch or two below the food (rough spots included food drops and descriptions and bread service). Pastry Chef matched the excellent work of the rest of the kitchen for desserts. An wonderful little cake was provided for the birthday of one of our party. A memorable dining experience was had by all.
Food was beautiful, delicious and innovative. Wine list Huge, room sophisticated and comfortable.
We went for a birthday celebration for my friend and loved the experience. The flavors were unexpected and out of this world. Some of the dishes even had a smoky fragrance component. Simply, the 4 course prix fixe dinner was truly an adventure.
The langoustine tartare and the pork were my favorites while my table mates were raving about the squab. There was a bit of discussion on the hamachi 1st course - it did not impress as the others on the menu. The portions are tasting sized but it was more than adequate for everyone, even the men. Also, there were several rounds of amuse bouche (chef choice free appetizers) and palate cleansers between courses so it was quite a filling meal. We also opted for the cheese course for an additional charge and it was wonderful as well.
We were all very full after our meal and could barely finish our desserts but we made a valiant attempt. Our favorite was the chocolate and the birthday caramel cake gifted to the birthday girl.
The magic of this restaurant is also the service. When we got there, there was a handwritten note for the birthday girl which is a nice touch. The service is impeccable and we felt like we were the only ones in the restaurant. The staff should be commended for their tact, courtesy and skill.
The restaurants decor is striking: modern, light, with a bit of whimsy, but not too feminine. We loved the crystal bird ceiling installation and the organic touches of reclaimed unfinished wood beams contrasted against the finely honed cognac wood walls.
Lastly, we were blown away by the beautiful delicate glassware from Italy and the slender silverware that were replaced after every course. The birthday girl loved it so much she asked for the name of the glassware company.
It’s a perfect restaurant for a special occasion or for a drink at the chic bar. It is pricey but for the food, ambiance, and service, it is money well spent. We will definitely be back for the chef tasting experience.
The very best meal experience you can enjoy in New York City.
Lovely meal! This is an excellent restaurant which is always a special experience.
