Very nice place and staff was accommodating to the two infants we had with us.
Great overall service. Great night
Let me start off by saying this has EVERYTHING to do with our server, as during prior visits to Mesita, I’ve always received excellent service, from the hostesses, to the servers, and to the bussers.
Our waitress, a tall blonde who never provided her name, took quite a while greeting us after we were seated. Out of our group of three, two of us already knew what we wanted to drink and placed our order. Another server brought those to our table. When our third was ready to order her drink, it took an unacceptable amount of time to try to even gain the servers attention for her to place her drink order.
What really bothered me was that when we were ready for another round, AGAIN, this server was either nowhere to be found or would not look our way so we may be able to get her attention. I had to get up and walk to the bar were she decided to shoot the breeze with the bartender so I could place our order. She didn’t even seem embarrassed that I had to look for her, nor did she apologize for being inattentive.
I don’t know if she was new, but her service was absolutely subpar, and I know that’s not what management is looking for or cultivating; as I mentioned before, I usually receive excellent service.
I hope there’s a coaching opportunity for this server so she can do better going forward.
Another excellent lunch at out new favorite place! My mom and I usually meet here on Tuesdays but we found ourselves in the area today and couldnt resist the siren call of margaritas and salsa!
Love this restaurant! Amazing food! Very tasty, & great cocktails. If u love Mexican, check this place out. They make the best table side guacamole! Extremely lively, & always crowded. I recommend reservations. The only downside for me, is that the music is a bit too loud. Hard to have a conversation without saying, what, each time. However, this would never stop me from going again & again. Amazing!!
The waitress forgot we had ordered and came by our table and asked us if we wanted dessert...before our food had come out? I have had several great experiences here though, so I'll chalk it up to a bad night.
We enjoyed the food. Service is amateurish, but friendly. Once again, we had a reservation for 4. Two of us arrived a few minutes before our reservation. We were told we would be seated when the rest of the party arrived, although the restaurant less than 25% occupied, on a Thursday night.
Our party had Guacamole for appetizers. We had to request chips. Puerco Rostizado, Mole Poblano and Fajitas were our entrees. All dishes were very good and generous.
loved the live music but way too loud in there to enjoy. Placed in back room - felt very closed off from restaurant. waiters tend to forget you in there
Ooooooooh my goodness, our time at Mesita was great!
We were seated immediately (we had a reservation,) and was greeted by our cheerful server, Erik, right away. He was so welcoming and attentive, and was able to answer any question we had about certain drinks or any menu item. He was exceedingly gracious in his recommendations, and we enjoyed every bit.
Their table-side guacamole was amazing! It was a perfect starter with the chips and salsa already served at the table. Every cocktail served, our group had some margaritas, gin & tonics, and white sangrias, were delicious.
Our entrees were served quickly, but we never felt like we had to rush and quickly clear the table just to make room. They never skimp on the meat, and their steaks are so well seasoned; we’ve had them on several occasions.
We were celebrating a birthday and they gleefully sang happy birthday while presenting their super tasty tres leches cake.
We haven’t this great of a dining experience for a very long time, and it was all thanks to Erik’s great service.
If you happen by Mesita, you’d be doing yourself a favor by asking to be seated with him.
Great service & food. Always an awesome place for dinner
I love everything here. We ordered the pineapple coconut mojitos, and tacos from the taco Tuesday menu. Their menu is very simple, their food is clean and you can see everything. Meaning there aren't questionable sauces or weird tastes.
food always great ... still don't see the reason for LOUD thumping house music for taco Tuesday ! LOSE THE DJ !!
Make no mistake, although they bill themselves as authentic, this is Tex-Mex. If you're ok with that, then this place may be for you. Onion rings with your fajitas?
Service was pretty awful. Before we were asked what we wanted to drink, we were asked if we wanted to order. Guacamole was good, but we waited a long time for it to arrive. The pulled pork tacos and the steak tacos were boring - very dry with no indication that this was a Mexican dish. Tacos are not served with any sides.
Best thing I had was the beer from Oyster Bay - Alexa double IPA - outstanding.
Oh, and as we waited for the rest of our party to arrive we ordered wine at the bar - it never came.
Loved this place great service great food
Meal and service was great until we got asked to move To the bar after we paid our check. If you want to enjoy a meal that is not rushed, try somewhere else.
Good food but the music was way too loud. Couldn’t hear myself think and couldn’t even talk to my family during our meal. I left with a pounding headache!
The steak is very tasty and tender..appetizers can be big
Very friendly staff. Very attentive. Great food. 👍
LOVE the steak tacos, fish tacos and Blood Orange Margarita! It's a new local find for us.. we go often for Taco Tuesdays.
Food is decent and there’s a fun atmosphere.. but the music is very loud and all the guests are yelling over each other.
Went for a friend’s night out to celebrate birthdays. Service was great, and the food was good overall. We had the table side guacamole of course and then chicken fajitas, shrimp tacos and a skirt steak platter. The tacos were not in a crispy shell but were like rubber-maybe yuca? Would not order again. Fajitas and marinated skirt steak was excellent.
Place was nice and clean. Food was pretty good. Tables/ seating very small and tight. We had a table of 4 and when the food came there was no room for the plates. The half booth tables were very close as well, feel like the people sitting next to you are almost at your table with you. The lighting is very dim making it hard to read the menus and the music is very loud, but its a very energetic atmosphere. Waiter didnt really come around to check on us much, had to wave her down twice both times trying to order drinks.( ordered them the first time but after 15 mins she never came back with drinks). Overall food was good and very fresh, we will be returning again for Taco Tuesday!
The first time we dined here was a completely different experience. Not sure if we’ll go back again. Service and food was nothing like our prior meal. Spoke to the manager about my meal and he didn’t really seem to care.
Delicious! Steak fajitas and Queso Fundido were amazing!!!
Food and drinks were great. Service was excellent. Loved the theme and decorations. The guy on the rolling station for guacamole was a cool touch. Gotta say the only thing I did not like was the size of the table. It was just my wife and me so we got a small table. Even though staff was constantly taking away items between our drinks, waters, appetizers and or main dishes it was way too cluttered for us. But besides that we will def go back again but ask for a bigger table.
Went for Taco Tuesday. DJ was so loud couldn’t hear the person next to me. Mgr refused to lower it because people “were dancing”. Not a soul was dancing. The food is so meh and overpriced. And they tacked on a 20% service charge for a party of 4 with no advanced notice. Nice. Never eating here again! Done.
Guacamole tableside was fun and tasty. It was taco Tuesday so ordered multiple items. Chicken shrimp and steak tasty unfortunately steak very tough really couldn't eat. I wasnt a fan of the gritty like very soft shells.
Unfortunately, the music was SOOO LOUD, my husband and I couldn't even talk .
My margarita was okay.
Wanted to love everything but just couldn't.
I will give it another try down the road.
Food was excellent and so was the service
Amazing experience. Service was amazing. Food was tasty and drinks were perfect. Great lunch experience.
Amazing per usual!
the noise level was ridiculous, the music was playing so loud it was nearly impossible to have a conversation at the table without shouting. food was good and the waitress was fine - better off going during the week when it is quieter.
First time here. Definitely going back. The peach sangria was awesome. Guac fresh and 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
Very loud atmosphere, hard to hear when having a conversation because of the loudness in the restaurant. Food was amazing, great service
Excellent food! And even better margaritas!!
We enjoyed the food, although the greeting we were given when we arrived was annoying, at best. We had a reservation for 4. Two of us arrived 10 minutes before our reservation. We were told we would be seated when the rest of the party arrived, although the restaurant less than half occupied. We were told that we could wait at the bar. After about 5 minutes I asked to be seated at our table to order our drinks "in your half empty restaurant". After a hesitation, the hostess agreed and sat us. In the end, it did not matter. We did not see a waiter for another 20 minutes, well after "the rest of the party" had arrived. While there appeared to be plenty of staff (bus people, servers, etc.) the was only one waiter for the restaurant. Presumably, someone called in sick, and they either didn't or couldn't obtain a sub. The sole waiter was very nice and repeatedly very apologetic for the ongoing delays.
Our party had Quesadillas and Queso Fundito for appetizers; Puerco Rostizado, Mole Poblano and Fajitas for entrees. All dishes were very good. We hope to return, trusting they have overcome their staffing issue.
The service is exceptional & the food is really good. The only downside was the noise level. That being said, we will definitely return.
Great food, great service!
BEWARE - went here on a Tuesday with my wife and son - a party of 3. The bill came, which I thought was a little expensive, but I reviewed the purchases and it seemed correct. What I did NOT notice was that they already included a 20% gratuity. Who does that for a party of 3? So I added another 20% on top of that, gave it to the waitress, and she never came back to suggest we might have overlooked the included gratuity - it was clearly a mistake. As a matter of fact, I tipped the exact same amount because they included the typical "tip calculator" at the bottom of the bill (e.g. - add $24.17 for a 20% gratuity)! More than misleading.
To top it off, for the $155 bill, they charged my card $334. Had to call the bank, dispute the charge, get a new card, and change all my auto-bill-pay accounts to the new card. Terrible.
Made reservations for 2, for 6:15pm, walked in 15 min early, we were told to wait, we were early, no one else was waiting, 9 tables available. I waited 5 minutes and approached the hostess and asked him if he’s ready now, he looked at us and said yes. He sat us at our table just put menus in the table, walked away, didn’t say enjoy your dinner... nothing - Why he made us wait? Don’t know but I was ready to walk out. However, our server was super great, Eric, he knew the menu and made suggestions! Food was good, fajitas good! Prices affordable! Spacious dinning, good music, guacamole bar! Great dining !
Great food! Great atmosphere, service was excellent!!
