Open From Monday To Sunday
It's a good place to go with friends to relax, talk and stay for awhile. Food was very good and service friendly.
Just OK. Nothing wow. Attentive service.
I have eaten here several times, I like to use it for lunch meetings. Unfortunately, this Monday, the restaurant was uncomfortably cold, the service erratic and the food took a long time. I'll try it again, the food is good.
Food was good, ambience not so much, dirty bathrooms didn’t help
Authentic meals with great service. Enjoyed this place a lot!
Order from menu not brunch
Went for lunch service was excellent, we ordered 3 cheeses, we were impressed with the cheese board. Fresh apricot jelly, grapes and toasted bread. We ordered between us pasta, salmon and a 1/2 panini. Love the cookies with the check. Will definitely be back.
Been here in the past and have had a significantly better experience. The family style menu is not as expected (you get what you pay for) - portions aren't nearly big enough. The regular menu is much better.
Service was also poor in this particular experience as 3 people explained the family style menu differently, they couldn't find our reservation and seated us late, appetizers and entrees were served at the same time, server insisted we get a smaller meat/cheese plate and it wasn't enough. Frustrated that we brought friends and had this experience. Will come back but not for family style menu.
A neighborhood gem. Always delicious and fresh. Accommodating to different food sensitivities. Specials are always delicious too!
Pasta dishes were ok, tiramisu was delicious!
Good food for value location and we were able to linger over our meal with friends with no difficulty. Quiet and pleasant.
What a special find!! Such terrific food, generous portions, many options, daily specials ( love the happy hour all day!) very accommodating service! Will be definitely coming back!!!
Pleasant surprise. I’ve always passed the restaurant but finally made a reservation when I was meeting friends in the neighborhood. The menu is limited but surely enough options for our table. I would like to see more vegetarian options in the pasta section. The portions are quite large. Three of us were able to share the delicious beet appetizer and the red snapper with artichokes and tomatoes was more than enough for two. Interesting gelato. We had the caramelized fig. Delicious. We all had a lovely evening.
The food was excellent, and overall the service was very good. The setting is calm, and fortunately on the quiet side. The 3 of us were pleased with the experience. I would definitely eat here again.
The blank ink linguine with sea urchin and langoustine was sooooo good. My friend also got the risotto and also very delicious. I would like to come back and try the ravioli with truffle sauce. Also came during happy hour, $6 sangrias were strong and so tasty!!
My “go to” spot in USQ
Got together with friends for a late lunch before a movie--great service here! Love the ambience and the waiter was very accommodating with my lack of knowledge concerning Italian cuisine.
As a frequent customer of this place,I was surprised with substantial price increase yet the food quality went down. If increased price, at least maintain the quality and amount of food served.. but still better than other places for lunch special panini
Been here a number of times. This may have been my least favorite time. Just seemed off that night.
This was our first time at this restaurant and our party of 8 was there for Mother's Day. We chose it because the menu sounded nice and the location was ideal for many of us gathering. The service was quite good but the food was really disappointing. They were out of many items and what they did have were not as they were described on the menu What they what did have was bland and overpriced. Will not return or recommend.
First time there, I had a great dinner and drinks. Great service, it was a Monday so it wasn’t crowded.
Returned for another visit while in town. Once again, our meals where very well prepared and the service was excellent. Thank you!
We started with two appetizers, the burrata tarte and the asparagus tarte. They were both very very good. The tartes are baked on a flaky crust. We got three entrees. We were told that their pastas were very good, all made in-house. We ordered the maltagliati and the rigatoni. They were both horrible. The maltagliati was just a muddy, heavy mess. The rigatoni bolognese tasted like it came out of a jar. We only had a couple of bites of each of these, had them packed to go, and we gave them to a homeless person. The third entree, the snapper, was good; a nice helping and very tasty. Very good, friendly service, too. But we won't go back.
Excellent food, but very limited menu - apparently, they have removed all the salads and only have them on the lunch menu (though they accommodated my friend's request and made a dinner salad for her). On my last visit, I enjoyed sharing a "tarte" (a flatbread pizza) and salad. Instead, this visit I had the orecchiette with shrimp in a pesto sauce and it was delicious. My friend enjoyed her salad too, though nothing special. Though the atmosphere has improved (was too bright last year), it was very noisy (even on a Monday night) and there was not enough waitstaff - service was not very good.
The burrata flat bread was delicious! The main dishes (lasagna and chicken cordon bleu) were both just OK.
Extremely disappointed. I made a reservation and it was accepted for 10 pm, but upon arriving to the restaurant discovered that it was closed. Please make sure not to accept reservations for a restaurant at times when it is not open.
I would have given them 5 stars but upon arriving to the restaurant and looking at the menu it occurred to me that it was a completely different menu than the one on here. I asked if they had recently changed their menu and they had...two days before. It was also significantly more expensive than the menu here so I recommend going to their website (if they have one)for options.
All of that said, the service was excellent. I accidentally ordered something that I thought was a salad but turned out to be a pizza with arugula and tomato with cheese. I guess I should have asked what burata was!! Everyone enjoyed it and they ended up not charging us for it, even though it was my error. Everything we had was delicious and the portions were above average. They had a yummy Merlot and I usually don't drink,..and if I do, I don't usually like Merlot. We did not stay for dessert because we were so full.
The ambience was nice and that staff was very attentive.
I had certain dietary needs and so I was a little stressed about a totally different menu but the server reassured me that they could pretty much make anything I wanted as long as they had the food there. I ended up getting the special skirt steak, served with potatoes and couscous. I didn't eat the couscous because 1. it was cold (on purpose) and 2. the potatoes were enough of a carb. Dad said it was the best piece of flounder ever.
We all left full and happy. Would definitely recommend for family, a date, gathering of friends, etc. It's on the slightly above average price range for a NYC restaurant but then again, what do you expect in NYC?
Al Vicoletto is the kind of Italian restaurant you can find all over New York: pretty good, not too expensive and with decent service. Nothing about it is truly exceptional, but nothing about it is disappointing, either. Nice, comfy space below sidewalk level. Worth having on your neighborhood go-to list but not worth traveling to.
This place had a lot of potential to be a regular for me considering that I live around the corner and eat Italian at least 4 times per week, but unfortunately the food was under-seasoned and bland, and there was a table of drunk teenagers who were so loud that I couldn't hear the person sitting right in front of me. At one point, one of the drunk kids stood on the table while everybody just watched in disbelief. Had the food been good, I'd understand that it's a rare situation and I'd probably go back to try it again, but unfortunately the food was sub-par. I can go on and on about why I didn't like this place, but ultimately it came down to mediocre food, and inappropriately loud behavior.
the food and service were great, at 1215 it was very quiet but by 1245 it was hoping...very nice meal.
Definitely would recommend. Great date spot and good wine list
Genuinely good Italian/Sicilian fare from top to bottom of the menu. Nice wines. Great service. Take the server's advice when selecting!
So delicious! Such great service and great atmosphere for a date or just an enjoyable dinner out.thank you!
Food was ok, esp. the chocolate mousse. Wine list okay. Entrees nothing special. Caesar salad was tasteless-- nothing remotely like a Caesar salad (doesn't anyone use anchovies anymore?). As for ambience, we came in after the theater to find s bored and tired looking maitre d' and a loud sixties soundtrack-- not very welcoming. Most of those who rate this restaurant highly refer to lunch, so maybe the place is better and more fun then
Not a bad place, but nothing special. Would be fine for a drink after work, or dinner after a movie, basically useful Italian restaurant, but nothing special. Quiet enough for conversation.
Waiter was having some issues, spilled wine, a bit confused.
My absolute favorite Italian place in the neighborhood! Thank you ♥
We really enjoyed the food and the service at Al Vicoletto. First, they called to confirm our reservation earlier in the day and were friendly and welcoming. We were seated promptly and all our food selections were very good. The buffaloto cheese was amazing. Salmon and pasta dishes were all excellent. Service was attentive and helpful even though the restaurant was really busy. For Manhattan, the prices were quite reasonable for genuine Italian dishes. We did not feel rushed in any way. Would definitely go back when I'm in the neighborhood again. A very nice find.
We live nearby, but this was our first time eating here and it was a great success. It was very busy (it's a popular place), but the staff did a great job of overcoming this challenge and ulltimately made our evening a great success. We shared the Beet Salad, then had the grilled Branzino and Veal Sorrentina, with a Sorbetto dessert - all were delicious and the portions were rather generous. The wine list is great, with very reasonably priced options (Pinot Grigio $36). Total cost of $110 before tip as excellent value for such a fun venue and good quality food. We'll be back.
Very nice lunch, would def come back
Very good and authentic Italian. Wine list short but good. Prices are really good for the quality.
