Some of the best tasting food I have ever eaten. Every dish is unique, fresh and flavorfull.
Food was excellent. Nice touch with all local ingredients. It’s a bit pricey but worth it. Our server (Ashley) did a nice job in spite of having to handle several tables simultaneously.
The only complaint was the seating. We had reserved a corner table but it was given to a single diner. We were given a small round table in an awkward spot instead.
Would highly recommend Sego and we will be back.
Odd decor but wood was very good and unusual(in a good way).
This restaurant is a gem in Kanab and southern Utah. We absolutely loved our creative dinner at Sego. There is a wide choice of items on the menu in addition to the 5 or so specials (with suggested wines and/or cocktails to accompany them) the evening we were there. Virtually everything on the menu sounded enticing so that you could return many times and not taste all the dishes. The menu items are fairly small on purpose and you are advised to order 4-5 to share (if you like) between 2 people. That was just about right for us. The cocktails are fun and adventurous and the wine selections very good. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and her suggestions were perfect for us. The whole experience was welcoming, unrushed, and simply delightful. We'll definitely go back and recommend it to others.
Delightful find in Kanab! Interesting menu with good variety and plenty of vegetable choices; dishes well-prepared and delicious. Our server Ashley was a doll and really added to our pleasant experience at Sego. Highly recommended (and reservations a good idea)!
For not being that busy it took a long time to get our food and then it came out cold. This is not the first experience we have had getting cold food. Kanab restaurants really need to get their act together. Diners should not be paying $30 for something that is cold!
Great staff, fresh and delicious food! What a pleasant surprise!
The food here is amazing. Note that this is a shared plate restaurant. My daughter and I shared three dishes and dessert, and honestly couldn't decide which dish we liked the best as each of them provided completely different tastes and textures. I am a local and organic foodie and was very happy with the food and the craft cocktail. I had the prickly pear margarita and it was delightful.
We were on our way back home to northern California from Albuquerque visiting family and spent two nights in Kanab and the day hiking at Wire Pass. As an unexpected surprise it was Red Rocktoberfest in town that night and one of the stages was set up right outside the restaurant. We ate outside and were able to enjoy the music as well. So glad I made this reservation.
Very original dishes. The Arizona Steak was extremely tender and wonderfully tasty.
A nice restaurant. Waitperson was very cheerful and knowledgeable. Food was delivered within a reasonable amount of town.
I didn't realize Sego was a shared plate restaurant. Our experience was good - food was good, the wine selection was nice and service was good. We would have preferred to eat at a traditional place but still enjoyed the evening.
Ate there twice in Kanab and enjoyed both -- recommend the grilled Caesar and the vegetable sides. Fresh food, well-prepared and original.
Sego has an unique twist to many familiar dishes, making them more interesting and tasty than the usual. Great outdoor option.
We sat outside around the fire and had an amazing meal with exceptional service. The venue allowed us to meet other diners from around United States - a great experience when traveling. The food was creative with local ingredients. Highly recommend!
Tonight, like every other experience I’ve had at Sego, was amazing! The food was hot and delicious. We got the filet, and it was the softest and most tender meat I’ve ever eaten! I can’t say enough. I could eat at this restaurant every single night!
My husband and I went to Sego for our anniversary dinner. I had written a comment on my OpenTable reservation regarding our special occasion, and everyone wished us a happy birthday. We were an hour late because we forgot we were crossing the border between UT and AZ and had forgotten about the time change, and they had no problem seating us, anyway. We sat outside amongst the sunflowers, and the patio was quiet and great for intimate conversation. The food is small plate-oriented, and we shared several things. we had the avocado toast, the scallops and the grilled caesar, and everything was very good. Had a lovely long conversation with the chef, Shon Foster, who did not seem in a rush at all and was glad to speak with us. The staff were attentive, warm and welcoming. Go, you'll have a great time!
Sego was more ambitious than it's currently able to pull off. Generally, the food was fairly bland - we don't like "spicy" but it wasn't flavorful, either. The "sharing" small plates concept can be nice, but at the prices suggested, it's also rather pricey. Nice wine selection.
Absolutely wonderful meal. Truly gourmet dining in a beautiful setttong. We were very pleasantly surprised.
Food was awesome!! Very city feel for a small town. Lots of fun sharing - we had 6 dishes plus 2 desserts for 4 of us. Potatoes, sego noodles, fried rice (had a kick), poke salad, Brie toast and can’t remember the last one were all delicious!!
We had four small plates between the two of us -- all we outstanding - and plenty of food. We did save a little room to split a great dessert. If you only have one meal in Kanab -- it should be here at Sego !
We’ve eaten at Iron Chef restaurants and Sego is better tan some. Creative and delicious. We will be back.
Spare Ribs mit Suppe als Beilage, sehr gewagt. Geschmacklich ok, aber mehr Knochen als Fleisch, welches sich auch nicht vom Knochen gelöst hat. Volle Enttäuschung.
We ate at Sego our first night in Kabab. It was so good (food, service, friendliness, ambiance) that we had to come back. Both nights we shared several “small plates”, and everyone tasted magnificently. We hate to leave, but have more National Parks to see, so “ttfn”. We hope everyone enjoys Sego as much as we did.
High-quality ingredients and fusion approach to the cuisine.
The restaurant proposes to share the dishes among the party which is good if nobody has problems of allergy and/or have similar tastes; otherwise, it might be a problem.
Outstanding the bar particularly the presentation of the cocktails.
A hidden gem in a relatively small town. Loved it and will return soon.
We had a reservation and we were seated right away but were not greeted by staff for 18 min. We were going to leave at 20 min if that continued. The server finally came. The food was good but portions are super small.
We visited Sego twice this year. Once on the way up to Park City and once on the return and both times it was wonderful. Actually we eat at Sego every time we visit Kanab. The food is very creative and designed for sharing. Everything was excellent! On our first visit Holly took such good care of us we asked for her again. She was the best!!
Amazing food with Asian fusion - definitely the best you’d find in Kanab and would go back if ever in the area again!
Better than many one michelin star places in nyc. Probably amongst the best food options in a 100mile radius. Loved it.
Best meal I’ve had in a very long time. Holly is the kindest nicest person on the planet. She takes pride in her work and shows she truly love the food she serves.
No doubt the best restaurant I can remember. What a gem in the middle of nowhere. No offense to those who live in Kanab. One wonderful meal with each course having marvelous and interesting tastes. The young man who waited on us was a Kanab native and a class act especially for being so young. Definitely will go here again next time we’re in the parts.
Awesome food, VERY tasty!! (but small portions). Menu is hard to read (small font against a dark brown background).
Very excellent Filet Mignon ohne of the best i ever eat.
We loved Sego and would recommend it to anyone! We happened upon it on accident, and we are so glad we did! The pork belly & watermelon is a MUST try, as is the torte. The chef was amazing and the overall experience was just great!
We had heard about this restaurant since moving to Kanab. Finally we ate there and onlynregret we didn’t try it months ago. We can’t wait for the next time😁
Fourth (or fifth) visit. This place is consistently excellent--there's no other way to put it. Menu always contains standard favorites along with specials and some new options to try. Can't say any of the plates was disappointing. It's what a restaurant should be.
What a surprise! Creative, beautiful use of quality ingredients, unexpected sophisticated blends of flavors, modest servings so you can taste a variety of dishes. My best meal in US in a year-and-a-half. In Kanab!!!!
This restaurant is a little gem in a tourist town. Ingredients are very fresh and the menu is innovative. We especially liked the sego noodles so much that we had two orders. We ordered the homemade sorbets and chocolate torte for dessert. The sorbets were refreshing, but the torte was average.
The food was great
