In February of 1992 Artu opened its doors to the world, starting with outstanding sandwiches and mouth watering roasted meats, we continued to evolve and grow. Since then we have steadily added to our repertoire. From those sandwiches and roasted meats, we have produced old-world comfort food dishes to current interpretations of those classics that still make the most discerning eater reminisce of their childhood.

Excellent food and service. We had the frutti de mare and lasagna and they were both delicious. Service was great. Music selection of 80s music and grease soundtracks seemed strange for ambience but an excellent experience.

So many great Italian restaurants in the North End - this is not one of them. The service in general is ok. But the food was definitely lacking in taste/quality. The red sauce was watery and bland Chicken cutlet was exceedingly thin. Not worth the price.

I’ve been here several times over the past few years. We had a genuinely nice experience this time but the food wasn’t up to the amazing level it used to be. My example: The short rib ravioli was great, but fantastic. The beat salad was pretty plain. Other in our party had similar reactions to their orders. Hopefully it was just an off night.

Greta Italian restaurant in the north end. Food was incredible but the portions are huge so watch out when ordering sides etc (especially from UK, these are massive meals!)

The entire experience exceeded our expectations. All of the Artu team members were kind, personable, and phenomenal. The food was incredible. We arrived early, were seated immediately, all of our questions were answered patiently and with genuine kindness. I cannot wait to return the next time I am in Boston.

Food and service was excellent. Waiter very attentive food came out quickly. Expansive menu. The only problem was the noise level, the acoustics were terrible. Sounds bounced off the walls, nothing to mitigate the noise. Despite all the noise from people talking loudly to be heard there was background music playing that added to the chaos. It was was to the point of being uncomfortable to be in the room.

This once great restaurant has dipped and it seems the city is voting with their feet. Sadly, we were the only ones here for dinner. Food still tasted good, but the bustling restaurant I remember in the past is gone

Food was ok, app of meat and cheese plate was good. The stuffed zucchini flowers were heavily deep fried in batter and greasy. The $32 short rib ravioli was 3 large raviolis and some mushrooms. The sausage and broccoli pasta was tasty, the carbonara was cold. Service and drinks were good. Atmosphere was friendly and lively.

Just a delightful experience at a family owned & managed business in the authentic Italian tradition that represents the best of the North End. Old school hospitality and accountability. The food is always perfectly prepared. Just had the calamari & tortellini again. They never disappoint. For over thirty years I can count on the fact that if I recommend the ristorante to a friend or acquaintance that they shall always express their satisfaction & gratitude. The bar offers full service & the convergence of old & young customers who merge into a great time for all. Plus the owner & her family are always present to both greet & listen. It’s just a cannot miss experience if your looking for a real North End experience.

Had a very simple dish last night. Pasta and sauce. The pasta was homemade and you can absolutely taste the difference! The red sauce was amazing sweet but not overbearing.

Fun spot & yummy Italian food! The menu offers great appetizers pasta dishes and entrees. Highly recommend the meatballs with gnocchi. Great location in the heart of the North End. Service was slow, but understandable given how busy it was. The noice level is very loud and the atmosphere was lively.

We used to frequent Artu on Charles and loved it. This venue--food not nearly as good, chicken looked like some prepackaged product, not pounded by the kitchen staff. Never offered grated cheese or pepper--had to borrow from next table. Noise level--beyond ridiculous!!!

Been there 3 times in the last 7 yrs, from Mississippi and the Lasagna is the best I have ever had. I was in Little Italy in New York last week and the Lasagna there was good, but not Artu great!

Octopus appetizer was delicious. Puttanesca sauce was good but carbonara was a salty broth, not the kind of carbonara that we are familiar with, but maybe there are variations. Pasta (penne, spaghetti, fettuccine) felt like I could open a box and get the same quality. The service was good. Overall, we felt underwhelmed as we were looking forward to really great pasta dishes.
