I went to this restaurant 2 weeks ago and had to return to see if my first experience was a fluke. It was not. The food and service were outstanding and the atmosphere is great. The wait staff is friendly and engaging and the management team on top of their game. Pricing is very reasonable and the quality of the food - burger, lamb ragout pasta, etc. - is exactly what you could hope for. I will be back and I will bring everyone I know. THANKS!!

They were sold out of half of the menu. The server could have cared less. We ordered oysters. The server didn't tell us what each one was, so we didn't know what we were eating. The manager came over and gave us a card for 20% off our next visit. No thanks, we won't be back.

Our server was inattentive once the meal was served. We asked several times for more water and tea which never came. We ordered the Green and Grains salad, which listed asparagus and snow peas - none were one the plate and the "grains" amounted to less than 1/8 cup. Overall the restaurant was pleasant to be in, quiet enough for a conversation, but with many other options available nearby, I won't go back.

Great service and ambiance. The food was flavorful, the portion sizes for appetizers were enough for two. Prices were mid-range -- not inexpensive, but not pricey.

After seating, we waited half an hour till someone came to take our order. On top of that, food took an hour to come to the table - we just ordered the house burger. The food itself was just meh, especially for the burger priced at almost $20!! For that much for a burger, you expect a lot more. The waitress did apologize for the delay but at most restaurants, bad service is usually comped by some sort of adjustment on the bill. Not here. Sigh! DC has plenty of other restaurants that are exponentially better.

I went for the Mardi Gras specials. The crawfish bread was good but the gumbo lacked sausage (however the okra was prepared correctly). The king cake was terrible. A crossiant with icing. Lacked depth of flavor throughout meal. Server attentive.

A pleasant dinner in this casual establishment with excellent service. The lobster bisque was a bit thin to be a bisque, but very flavorful. Pork chop perfectly done as were the scallops. Would definitely return here.

Quite disappointing. Nice setting but food was mediocre and service was just OK. Our waitress was very nice but had a hard time answering questions and describing the selections. Other wait staff argued in the background. The food was average overall, with a few highlights and a number of misses. Caesar salad was unremarkable - have had better at chain restaurants. Miso glazed salmon was over-cooked and too sweet. Ratatouille was a complete mess. Farrotto was good, with excellent texture and fine taste. Menu is quite limited; will not return nor recommend a visit, with all the other good choices in town.

We went for brunch, which turned out to be "galentine's" brunch. The service was great and mostly attentive (the olives, celery, and other condiments kept running out at the bloody mary/mimosa bar). The biscuit and grave were very tasty, along with other brunch entrees. Would recommend!

Located 1350 I Street NW. This is a rustic older restaurant with charm, great service and tasty food. Its very casual no need to be dressed up. It offers a welcoming atmosphere and no stuffiness. From its quaint tiny to middle sized tables, to its private rooms more suited for larger parties or receptions, you will be pleasantly surprised. This restaurant is known for its Raw bar and Steaks. The menu isn't extensive and not overwhelming. For appetizers we ordered oysters on the half shell and shrimp cocktail. The main course we had crab cake ( a little filler) sandwich with house salad and glazed salmon with couscous. The bar is a middle size equipped with TV's showing sports and CNN. Great old fashioned red stools and fully stocked but no they do not offer Heineken beer but Stella as a alternative. Service was very attentive and warm. Which we love.. This place is priced very moderately. You will not need to dig deep in your pockets to pay. Overall We enjoyed ourselves. Good atmosphere, good food and great convo. We give it a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the best and 1 being the worst. We reccomend checking it out. Cute date nite spot.

We went for dinner over Valentine's Day weekend and had the prix fixe menu. Everything was excellent and our server, Ryan, was great! Our entrees, filet mignon and scallops, were terrific. The scallops use aji amarillo in their sauce which is a favorite of mine and something you don't see outside of Peruvian restaurants. Overall, a great experience and we are looking forward to our next visit!

Went here for a nice dinner while on a mini weekend getaway. The food was pretty good. My fiance and I ordered the lobster rolls for the appetizer, I had a soup as my entree, and my fiance ordered the salmon with bok choy. The food was tasty, but my overall rating is due to the service. The waiter was a bit rude and off putting. He took our wine glass away when we had just ordered wine, and then he barely filled the glass and took the rest away. The portions are also very small, so your meal ends up being on the pricey side while not being fulfilling.

A few friends and I visited Penn 6 DC for brunch today. We had Hamid as a waiter, and he was great. He was very attentive and kept filling our drinks often. The bottomless brunch bar is so worth it. There were so many toppings for bloody mary's and fruits and juices for mimosas. The food was delicious. I got the steak and eggs with chimichurri and potatas bravas. I highly recommend the miso fried Brussels sprouts. That's where it's at.

I'm sorry to say we had very bad service. We had a group of 5 people and two friends ordered biscuits and gravy and eggs benedict. We got the food and it was clear that the orders got mixed up i.e. the eggs benedict had sunny side up eggs (not poached) and the biscuits and gravy had hollandaise sauce (what?!), poached eggs and almost no gravy. We told one of the servers who INSISTED that we were wrong and the order was correct. After looking through the menu, it turns out we were right. However, when they redid the orders, it was STILL wrong. One of the servers said that they had been serving these orders incorrectly all morning and we were the ONLY ones who caught it. What does that say about the chef and quality control? We were so disappointed with this service. Also, when we complained to a manager (?) she said the server was from a particular country and "that's how they are." I'm horrified by the implied racism and lack of respect. We came here on New Year's Day and one of the servers apologized for the bad service because they had been up late for NYE restaurant work. While I understand, that is NO excuse. Originally my friends were only going to get 10 percent off their incorrect meal, but I had to insist for full compensation. I do not recommend this establishment, this service is poor.

We came here on NYE. We were the first ones in the restaurant (had reservations) on new Years Eve for dinner and they sat us at the end of a banquette which may be the worst seating in the entire place. I had a great view of staff walking in and out of the kitchen which was totally distracting. All the wait staff was directly behind us chatting. Plus the lights were so bright along that row of seating. It really put a damper on the evening as there was no ambiance at all. We ended up just ordering apps and then left. The food we ordered was good though! And our server was attentive.

Hamid checked on us and when he brought the dessert, brought extra spoons because he KNEW we would have to taste the apple crisp. Amazing dessert!

We had to argue to get a booth even though the place was not crowded. Waiter brought wrong wine bottle (twice). Steak came 30 minutes after the other entrees and then had to be sent back to be cooked more. The apology was token and no compensation was offered. We let the waiter know about a birthday but nothing special was done. The bill came without an itemized receipt; we asked for it and it was retrieved from the back, crumpled. All in all, delicious food presented in a strangely hostile environment. I would not return unless management changes.

I think this spot will be around for a while (as long as the trendiness stays), especially with the informative and attentive wait staff (shoutout to our server Hamid). Went here for brunch and was very disappointed. Service was so-so, the food just average but the biggest disappointment was the venue itself, no ambience whatsoever, feels like a fake cheap English pub in the suburbs of a small UK town. How people can call it beautiful is beoynd belief, just look at the ceiling... And on the top of all that it's totally overpriced for what you get.

This was my second time coming here for Saturday Brunch. They have a very lovely Mimosas and Bloody Mary's bar. First time was outside seating and it was gorgeous. Loved the food everyone raved about it. The second time, this past weekend. Food was just ok. We ordered a medium rare steak and came out almost well done. They were nice enough to offer a new one. We also ordered a Croque Madame, that at first was really good, but as we got closer to the middle part the ham was iced, frozen cold. Very disappointing. As for the staff that was there that day, they were very attentive and on top of getting things rights. But if you get it right the first time there's no need to send out for re-do's. I just think that the place was not even half full to be making such mistakes. But overall it is are a good spot. Bu perhaps quality has decreased a little in the past few months.

I am am ultimate foodie and the food was hands down amazing. I had the miso salmon, my brother had a burger, and his wife had the chicken paillard. All were absolutely amazing. Because two is were celebrating a birthday we received a a complementary trio of creme brulee (3 different kinds). ALL were absolutely delicious. Khalid (our waiter) was so nice and so friendly. He was never short of attentive and a sheer pleasure to speak with. This is place is a must visit and is a hidden gem in the city.
