Belly Wine Bar is the third offering from the owners of Central Bottle + The Blue Room. Belly is the offspring of the first two: an Italian-inspired, 45-seat enoteca meets French charcuterie set in a 19th-century mill building that contrasts wood beams, plank ceilings, and salvaged chestnut/ steel girder tables with a sleek, eight-seat marble bar, Italian porcelain-tile floor, and bistro-style mirrored menus.

In the true spirit of an enoteca Belly has mostly high-top tables and communal seating. It’s FUN! Just like with wine, sometimes you have to be open minded. All in all we’re excited to see you, happy you’ve chosen to visit us and hope to make your evening comfortable + cozy.

Was warmed by the hospitality and wowed by the by-the-glass offerings. Who knew rosé came in 20 different shades? Ordered all of the chalkboard specials "spare parts" and a few other dishes that hit it out of the park. Even got a kids pasta (bucatini with butter + parm) that my son loved. Cheers BELLY!

There are less than 10 items on Belly's brunch menu, but they are all good. Interesting wine and drink selection, but the beer is canned or bottle only, nothing on tap. Didn't matter to our party, but others may wonder what's up with that.

We had a group of 6 and were easily able to grab a table, as less than half the restaurant was full when we arrived at 7:30 for dinner. It took 30 minutes for our wine orders to arrive, and another 15 (total of 45) until our cheese platter came. The sad thing was the cheese was right behind us and we could have put it together in less than half the time. In the 2 hours we were there, we were never asked if we wanted another glass of wine or anything else to eat. At one point our waitress was even in the corner for over 30 minutes drying wine glasses instead of attending to us. We finally went to the bar and had to order food there, as no one came by. When we finally complained, they gave us the tiniest glasses of prosecco to apologize, but that didn't do anything to cheer us up. I'm not one to usually complain, but seriously considered walking out multiple times to grab food elsewhere, as I knew somewhere else could fix it faster. I've been twice and don't believe I'll ever go back. With so many great restaurants in Boston, I don't think it's worth the time, money or frustration to go to Belly Bar.
