Aquitaine has relocated to 216 Church Street at the corner of Church and Market. We moved from 175 Sutter last year. We cannot wait to see you in our new location!

Enjoy the wines and cuisine of southwest France in an exquisitely comfortable setting. This cozy restaurant/wine bar was inspired by the cuisine and wines of Gascony. Enjoy our favorite recipes from southwest France, bar bites before an evening out or our fabulous French fare for a hearty lunch or dinner. Michael Bauer of The San Francisco Chronicle says Aquitaine offers “The Best Mussels in the Bay Area” and calls it one of “Best Places to Dine”.     Food was excellent. We had several different wines and everyone was very pleased. My friend has a mocktail she loved. Service was warm and non-intrusive.

    Very hands on personally done with home made duck pate and old style whole chicken and potatoes roasted. Excellent beet salad! Reasonable priced wines for purchase and good choices by the glass. $35/bottle corkage on own bottle brought in.

    We had a nice and relaxing Mother's Day Dinner. The wine and charcuterie were a great start. The Pate de Maison was amazing! We enjoyed the Sunday special chicken dinner, with salad, and pommes de frites. The herbs on the chicken made it a quite special dish. We finished with the creme brulee, which capped off a great meal.

    Quaint French restaurant on Church Street. Beautiful decor and exceptional food. I went to brunch and was served the best frittata I’ve ever had, served in a cast iron pan, crispy cheese covered a creamy, cheesy egg and spinach interior. All topped with a perfectly dressed salad with orange bits. Definitely will return.

    We had an unpleasant experience at Aquitaine. Only one person to cook, serve and attend to customers. The restaurant is completely adrift with no proper service. The food is poor and carelessly prepared. Truly disappointing.

    Lots of personal touch from (I think) the owners, the chef and wine sourcer. They really helped us choose, taste, experience. I definitely will be back.

    I like this under the radar French restaurant. It's solid and cozy and they always deliver. Staff is amazing. Wine choices are great. Menu is diverse and typical French. Reminds me of my home country. I recommend it if you want the good stuff without the fluff, snobby stuff.
