An Upper East Side institution at the elegant quarters of Carnegie Hill, Peri Ela has been the choice of restaurant of locals who come there on regular basis since it opened its doors on 2007, February 14th and visitors some of whom reserve their tables every time they come to New York. They simply do not skip. You can find the captains of their industries enjoying the Mediterranean and Turkish cuisine at its best. Peri Ela is charming with its clubby ambiance whether it is a romantic evening, a business meeting or just catching up with friends.

Peri Ela on Lexington Avenue opened 13 yrs ago when we were living a block away. We went often, but have since relocated and returned for dinner before a 92nd St Y event a block north. The lovely venue is totally unchanged. Romantic lace curtains, off the charts vintage lighting, oversized artwork with all female subjects, warm decorative wood walls and gorgeous bar. The Mediterranean food selection and wine list is plentiful and savory, the bartender and servers are charming women, the owner and her two daughters, the restaurant's namesakes. It is a romantic, cozy, quiet, delicious, nicely paced dining experience in a 10 star ambience. Nothing in this UES Carnegie Hill neighborhood compares to it. (You will need a flashlight at night for the small font copious menus.) ❤ 3/8/20

Peri Ela is my go-to when attending 92Y events. Reliable, delicious food, quaint decor, intimate dining experience coupled with a convenient Carnegie Hill location.

Grilled bronzino excellent; Grilled octopus salad fresh with tasty salad; Almond pudding with pistachios on top was light, authentic and very delicious. Highly recommend and will return.

Nice ambiance and gracious hostess. The food was a bit disappointing -- flavorless artichoke heart and creamed spinach (but with a good flavor) -- but the smoked eggplant was delicious.

Very pretty cozy place. The food and service were very good. Unfortunately there was a large party behind us where smaller tables were put together for the group. They were very noisy, everyone was yelling across at each other and the tables were too close together so that our party of three found it hard to have a conversation and the person sitting closest to the group was very uncomfortable with the screaming in her ears. If that party had not been there and the tables had remained as is with two to four at a table it would have been perfect. The place is a little too small to accommodate a very large noisy party. Of course they couldn't have known that these people would be so noisy but it is nicer as a small cozy place.
