We ate dinner during Queens Feast Jan. 2018- appetizer--goat cheese dumplings-good, but soft & mush--needed a crunchy note-something like a topping of crispy "onion ring-style" shallot, or a few grains of finishing salt (maybe red Hawaiian clay sea salt blend?). We solved the one note, mushy problem with sharing my appetizer-crispy rice & it added the crunch it needed. Entree-- Corvina sea bass-It was flaky and sweet, well seasoned. Grass-fed flank steak-phenomenally delicious! Well balanced with the smoked cheddar grits, roasted fennel and red wine. Dessert-- apple cobbler was a usual cobbler. Chocolate torte w candied walnuts-good-really enjoyed the walnuts. Disappointed that profiteroles were not available that night, as listed online, as part of the Queens Feast menu-would have liked to try them. Had the best Cab Franc wine-recommended by our server. Cosentino winery 2015 THE FRANC. If you are a fan of cab franc, this is phenomenal! Highly recommend Corkbuzz!

My verdict is still out on Corkbuzz. Our reservation was for a Saturday evening during Restaurant week. That said, perhaps they were exceptionally busy. We were seated in the bar area which was fine, until mid-evening when a large group of 14+ were seated next to us, continually pulling up chairs to a table that should have sat ~10. They were having a great time and were quite energetic but there went my quiet dining experience. The service was good, a few reminders for needed items but very pleasant and knowledgeable. Everything but my main course was fantastic. If you plan to go and you're looking for a quiet dining experience, request to be seated in the main dining area. Otherwise, the bar seating (high-top tables) is perfect for a more casual environment.

I honestly feel the menu change has caused the food to go downhill. Why change a good thing? The seabass and the burger were once staples and now are nothing to be desired. Service and atmosphere were fine but I am not sure I will be rushing back due to the menu change .

Staff was very pleasant but table was not ready for reservation. We weren’t in a hurry so having a drink at the bar was fine. Bartenders let me sample a few wines to help me choose a glass. Meat and cheese plate was excellent. Loved the Brussels sprouts. Shrimp were good. I wouldn’t order the rigatoni again. Really missed the donuts with ricotta. I wish they would put that back on the menu.

Lovely ambience, not too noisy but happening feel. They imply that wine is their thing, but we felt sidelined when we asked for a glass each and not a bottle, not given any choice just do you want adidic, buttery etc, actually would prefer to see a list, but guess you just have to have what is open. Menu is ‘small plates’ that are served as soon as they are ready so if you are not sharing and want to eat together then you have to ask to do so, the small plates are a combination of entrees and sides not tapas so this really does not work if they were to come at different times, not sure if they do this to be trendy or for the convenience of the kitchen but to be fair, they did accommodate us when we asked if we could have it at the same time and we suggest you do the same. Think staff could do with a little more knowledge. Overall they have the ambience spot on, just need to step up the food quality slightly, for example the seasonal tart was mediocre, overcooked pastry and just a few slivers of veg, on whipped goats cheese, needed more veg and the veg needed to be oven roasted and charred, it was neither of these and how much nicer just to have a slice of proper goats cheese on top, than whipped, felt like i was eating processed cheese, other dishes were better. Feel they need to become customer centric and it is very much a wine bar with food rather than a restaurant. Might visit again because lovely atmosphere and lots of potential, but would sit at bar and order more wine than food, which I guess is what they do well, our mistake was going there to eat rather than going there to drink.

My husband & I went to Corkbuzz restaurant last night. The atmosphere is very nice & we were seated at a table for 4. Our server did a nice job recommending wines. We each ordered a glass of Spanish wine, mine was $11 Bobal & my husband had a $16 glass of Temperinillo which we felt was pricey but good. We ordered a couple small plates, goat cheese balls which were delicious and duck confit empanadas which were fair. We also ordered a $29 charcuterie plate. We were shocked at the small amount of food on it for that price. We are in Charleston at least 6 times a year & have been to Bin 152, Slightly North of Broad, Butcher & Bee, and others. We have ordered many charcuterie plates & have never paid $29 (we paid less) & received much more food. Corkbuzz' charcuterie consisted of 3 small triangles of goat cheese (meh) thinly sliced & 4 small triangles of sheep cheese (fair), 1 small 2 oz ramekin of liver pate (delicious), small ramekin of mustard, 6-8 half slices of bread, 6 thin pickle slices, 6 thin slices of chorizo & 3 thin slices of prosciutto (good). We ended up having 2 glasses of the same wines, 2 small plates & expensive charcuterie & spent a total of $95. We both agreed that everything was overpriced even in comparison to the above mentioned Charleston places.

This restaurant and wine bar is consistently excellent. The service is superior and the servers/bartenders offer opinions on entree and wine choices which are very helpful. The food is very, very good and the wine list speaks for itself. I have dined at the bar, in a private room and also in the main dining room. It is a wonderful experience each time.

Amazing food and beverage and our waiter was fantastic! We both had the NC trout and the preparation (crab mousse and brussel sprout fondue) was the best we have ever had. Great wine specials also and found my new favorite drink - the Corkbuzz!!!

Incredible experience for our 1 year anniversary. Thy have a fantastic wine selection, plenty of beer selections, and the food was impeccable. I had The Burger, which is the true burger of the South Park area. My wife had the Brussels sprouts and stuffed squash and was in love. They treated us with love and great service. We will definitely be coming back!!

Everything was on point and the server was so helpful in providing wine choices and taking care of our crazy party of 10 after the Mad about Modern home tour. The duck confit empanadas, goat cheese hush puppies and burger were amazing with my Sharecropper's pinot noir. Couldn't have asked for a better close to the afternoon. I will say the only thing that disappointed was the auto gratuity for the party of 10 - Being a past bartender/server I understand why, but we always leave a tip above and beyond because I've been there and value good service.

I saw a review from a local blog about the "Top 10 Best Brunch Places in Charlotte" and decided to go with a friend. Upon arrival, we were the first guest of the day and were greeted by a very friendly staff. We ordered cocktails which were great them both ordered different menu items so we could try it all. The food was great and made to order but even with it only being us it did take a little long. The price was great for all of the food we ordered plus the cocktail. Overall I would definitely recommend this place to anyone for a good Sunday Brunch.

We planned to have a brunch here but turned out to be lunch. The venue is attractive with a nice patio. We ate in the restaurant side. The wine bar opened later so we did not go in. Service was friendly and effective. We had three different meals and had problems with all three. The menu is imaginative but execution is lacking. Sea bass croquettes were not fully cooked in the center and sent back. We selected a side of brussels sprouts with almonds and cheese curds that was good. A chicken breast sandwich had skin still on it that was not crispy and had to be removed. The bacon/ heirloom tomatoe sandwich had good heorloom tomatoes but only a small portion of thin bacon. The sea bass dish was removed from the bill and we did not complain about the other dishes. The wine list is extensive but seems too high priced. We had high expectations and they were not met. I do not expect to return.

Really like Corkbuzz, a favorite of ours. But hate that you took the sweet biscuits off the menu! Took some friends here who were visiting us from out of town for the PGA. Great wine list. We like the limited menu, great choices for all our palates. Brussels sprouts and the grits were delicious.

I was entertaining an out of town guest and wanted to find a unique, fun, energetic spot in the southpark area. The reviews were good and others recommended Corkbuzz. The restaurant was fairly empty however we were seated right next to another couple. it was awkward. Their conversations were extremely tense. Once they left, a larger party was seated on the other side of us. The servers were constantly bumping into our table waiting on them. It was unacceptable as server's "backsides" were right in our faces. Even if the party could not have been seated in another location (the entire restaurant was empty), the server could have chosen to serve them from the other side. I was embarrassed. I will definitely not go back.

Very disappointing- we tried to order 4 different bottles of wine and they were out of each. We finally asked them to just bring out a wine they had in stock. It took 15 minutes each time for them to come back and say they were out of each. Food we ordered was good, but we decided to leave and go elsewhere after the first bottle (shared by 5 people)

Wonderful evening at Corkbuzz! Our waitress, Amy had extensive knowledge of their wine selection and spent time talking to us about what type we might like and why, asked us questions about our preferences and brought a couple of samples to try before ordering. Food was delicious and presented beautifully, I had the sea bass, friend had the tuna. One of my new favorite spots in Southpark!
