The Bistro of beautiful birds, the menu is all about poultry, whole to share cooked different ways, simple dishes flawlessly prepared, an entire section of the menu dedicated to eggs. Different types of celebrated terrines are available, and the famous Giblets Platter. -ode to the unique terroir of America expressed through the flavors of wild and heritage birds.
Le Coq rico offers multiple seating areas, each of which, offer a unique style of dining. Our wine hall sits directly across from our wine tower, allowing one to peruse our library of both French and American wines chosen specifically to compliment the cuisine of our chef. We have our main dining room in the center of the restaurant. And, for those who would like a "bird's eye view" of the kitchen, we offer our chef's counter.

The original chef has moved on, but Le Coq RIico has changed very little. It’s still a first-rate restaurant.

We LOVE this restaurant and open go here for special occasions. However, we were served with dirty cutlery and plates (caked on food) and got our food before our drinks were even served. Not what we expect for the price paid. Sister restaurant in Montmarte is much better.

The chicken is the best I’ve ever had. Juicy and flavorful without seasoning to mask the real chicken flavor. Bread is amazing and servers are very friendly and sincere. Get the Flottante for dessert. One of my favorites!

I was expecting to like Le Coq Rico a lot!! Unfortunately, it turned out that I didn’t enjoy the food as much as I expected based on the rave reviews I had read. I am not a big fan of poultry and we got the chef’s special for 4, which is a kind of stew. I didn’t enjoy it as much. I noticed that our neighboring tables had crispier chicken plates, so maybe the stew was a bad choice for me. Otherwise, it’s a very welcoming place with great decor and excellent service. Ingredients were all very fresh. I loved the appetizer leek salad with truffle shavings and the side order of mac and cheese. Deserts were excellent. Overall, not the kind of experience I was anticipating but I am happy I went.

This restaurant used to have super food but not so the day we went unless you like chicken really dry and very over cooked plus a weird chutney on the equally dry chicken burger. Soup was delicious.

The food is outstanding here, no doubt about that. The juiciest, most perfectly cooked chicken you could ask for, accompanied by delicious, accompanied high-quality sides. However, the service wasn't great, I didn't find the staff to be exceptionally friendly and I believe it's a bit overpriced. I've been to the Paris location which is much more lively and welcoming; the translation to more of a white tablecloth, upscale Manhattan venue just doesn't work for a more casual, Montmartre joint. I was fairly disappointed in the ambiance, although again the food is unbelievable so no complaints there

Amazing dinner. Food and service were first rate. This is what dinner dining should be. Elegant but not pretentious. Definitely in our special occasion rotation.

Would be a higher rating but it took 15 before we were asked what we’d like to drink-let alone eat. Not enough order takers although plenty of water and food servers. Why do they only have 3 apparent order takers and about 10 deliverers?

We had such a wonderful meal at Le Coq Rico!!! My friends were just back from Paris so we had a
lot to talk about. We were given a corner round table that was absolutely perfect. Our food was
delicious and our server was attentive. The manager Eric came over to introduce himself and he was
very solicitous and French so I could practice my French. I've been here before and shall return, for
my friends it was their first time at Le Coq and they loved it and plan on returning as I shall!

Not sure what all the hype is about. It was no different than a grocery rotisserie chicken. We love great food. This experience left us feeling duped.

Following Pete wells review from 2016, my date and I went here for the chicken that was supposed to be superior. We both agreed afterwards that it was, in fact, just ordinary. And pretty pricey for ordinary roast chicken. The bread and butter were both excellent, as was and the salad that came with the chicken. No complaints there. We sat at the bar watching the chicken roast and the chefs do their different tasks, so there was a lot of drama that made the evening a little less disappointing.

Outstanding food, though largely limited to poultry and other birds - which our waiter may well have charmed out of the trees. So charming was he, we became fairly willing victims of his obvious up-selling. That said, the whole experience - food, wine, service, atmosphere - was top notch. So, come armed with some charisma-blocking charms of your own and you’ll be totally delighted.

Second time there, took my aunt for her birthday. Service was attentive, the food is sublime, the cocktails (ok, just had one, the rose with grapefruit etc, but so good) delish. The French fries are remarkable, the chicken is of course, perfect, the salad with just the right level of vinaigrette. So French! Oh, and the desserts. divine.

Bring your wallet and take home the extra chicken to make a delicious soup - easy peasy. They even give you a recipe card.

Looking forward to the next visit.

This restaurant is dedicated to the love of poultry. It sources it’s birds from carefully selected farms in the Northeast. Their preferred method of cooking is the rotisserie. The result is simply delicious. You will rediscover the taste of chicken. The atmosphere is cozy and pleasant.

We are huge fans of this restaurant! Anthony, the manager, greets us like family. He is extremely gracious. We have tried a number of different types of birds, but our favorite is the stuffed landaise chicken for two - it is amazing!! Although we are not dessert people, we had the wild strawberry souffle, which was remarkable. Plan to return to the restaurant very sorry to have the souffle again before they introduce the next type of souffle. Le Coq Rico is reliably delicious.

Antoine Westermann, the founding chef, has left, the staff is new, and the food, while still delicious, seemed to my wife and me no longer revelatory. We’ll go back, but we fear that Le Coq Rico may have lost its edge.

We visited Le Coq RICO on a Labor Day weekend visit to NYC. Having eaten at the original restaurant in Paris, we were very much looking forward to sharing the experience with our two teenage daughters. Once again, we were blown away by the taste and tenderness of the chicken and thoroughly enjoyed all of the sides as well as the premeal cocktails. We will definitely make this one of our go to restaurants when we visit the city.

If you like really tasty poultry, this is the place. also, appetizers and side dishes are excellent. very french. excellent service. not matched in the city, although Rotisserie Georgette is similar. Fairly expensive, but worth the bucks for the quality.

A unique experience if you enjoy poultry related food, including eggs, foie gras and egg based dessert. Very pleasant and upscale decor.Some specialties taste better than others; the poached eggs and ile flottante were delicious. Whole birds are a good option if you are 4 guests willing to share.
Service was friendly but slow and they did not have enough menus for our table. Unfortunately the signature dish, coq au vin, was not available that evening.

Really enjoyed our meal at Le Coq Nico since chicken is about all we eat these days. The interior is subtle modern with feathers accenting the walls. Staff is polite and knowledgeable. We had a Duck Rillette and Leeks Vinaigrette which were both superb. A generous portion of rillette and nicely flavored leeks. A timely bread refill would have been nice for the rillette.

For our main we had the BRUNE LANDAISE whole bird, which the server described as the bird with the most white meat. It was very large and came portioned in a large Staub pot -- great presentation and absolutely tasty bird. Moist, tender, lots of flavor, wonderful skin. For sides, we had the fries, which were thick cut, perfectly cooked and had great flavor and the GREEN ASPARAGUS, GREEN PEAS & FAVA fricasée.

Desert was the profiteroles and a berry soufflé - both were attractively plated and delicious. Overall, a wonderful experience and we'll be back.
