Unfortunately, there was some disconnect between Open Table and the restaurant so our 12:30 reservation was not honored as they indicated that Open Table had overbooked them. We waited 30 minutes for a table but I will say the restaurant took our order right away and we did not wait too long for food. I saw other folks waiting at least 30-45 minutes for food and it seemed they were very short-staffed.

I honestly didn't try the food, but Open Table made me rate it. This is really about their service.

They were very busy because it was Mother's Day. Our reservation was at noon and we got there at 11:45. There were two parties ahead of us. One with a reservation and one WITHOUT. The waitress seated the reservation before the other person, which makes sense since they had a reservation.

The woman then went to the counter and complained to who I'm guessing was the owner. The next table opened at noon and he motioned her over to sit even though she didn't have a reservation.

There were at least 5 tables that didn't even have their food, yet. The waitress said it would probably be a while until we were seated. I told her I understood they were busy, but it's not ok to let that woman take our reservation and we left.

Brought my mother-in-law here for a Mother's Day lunch. The place was packed and it took 10 minutes for us to be seated even though there were open tables and we had a reservation. There was one waitress and a bus boy/cook that was helping tend to customers. Service was atrocious, but the bus boy/cook was really putting forth an effort and apologized and thanked us for our patience every chance he had. Although it took forever to get our orders taken, get our food, and pay, we were given an appetizer on the house and the food was quite good. Only the brunch menu was available, but the french toast was the perfect thickness and had a lovely berry compote with it. The breakfast pizza (with eggs and bacon on it) was an interesting idea and the dough had a nice texture. My mother in law got the eggs benedict and it was a good sized portion. Unfortunately the food did not come out all at once. Hopefully this place figures out the staffing issues, because it has potential.

This one of the worst experiences in recent history. We had a reservation for Mother’s Day and we weren’t greeted for 15 mins. We finally sat down and we placed our order. We didn’t get any drinks for 20+ mins. The tea was wrong, the coffee didn’t have sugar and they only brought 1 glass of water for the 3 of us. We asked for more but never got the water. It took about an hour to get our food and my 3 year old was going a little crazy (all he got was 1 slice of French toast). We arrived at 11:30 and left at 1:30 totally dissatisfied. I tried to speak to the waitress and she told me there were busy — there were about 14 tables in the whole place and it’s Mother’s Day- busy isn’t an excuse for terrible.

Never going again.

Food was good, burgers were average but the frozen custard was amazing! Will return sometime just to eat dessert. One can order ice cream cakes there too. Was a decent find for 2 families with teens.

This was a return visit for us on a Saturday at lunchtime. We had been here just a few months before and really enjoyed our meal. What a disappointment! They have switched over to a Saturday brunch menu in the afternoon. If you wanted to select something from the regular lunch menu at 1:00, you were out of luck. We didn’t want to go hunting for another place to eat, so everyone in our party of four agreed to order from the brunch menu. Our meals were delivered one at a time - with only one server who was host, waiter, and server, we wondered if he was back in the kitchen doing the cooking too! When I asked for a bit of cheese on my scrambled eggs he said sure, we can do that, but when the order arrived, no cheese. I ordered challah toast, it arrived regular toast. To be fair, the others in our party were very happy with their meals that were served as ordered. Now that we know they only do brunch on a Saturday afternoon, if we are craving a sandwich we’ll go somewhere else. The food was good and fresh but the service was so-so. I’m not inclined to recommend this restaurant.

Our server was great! Atmosphere is really nice. Optimal wit beer was tasty. Only complaint was the veggie burger was served completely dry. Where was the aioli? Wish that would have been included or if they had asked about condiments. Otherwise it was a fun outing. I liked my Caesar salad, too.

We were thrilled to find a last minute reservation for 7 for Easter brunch. Our server was Oksana and she was great, especially being very accommodating to the two children in our group! The portions are generous and the food is good. The custard and milkshake desserts are outstanding!

Got there when the place was nearly empty. Still wound up waiting 25 minutes for our food... which included a bagel w cream cheese & lox. Blackberry french toast was ok. Probably enough for two, especially if one of you isn’t that hungry. The noise level got much worse as they filled up with crying children. Not a great place for intimate conversation because you can easily be overheard. Ok place for a group brunch I suppose.

We enjoyed our first outing to FDB for brunch. The only thing I would change would is getting fresh local bagels for the Nova platter. The Frittata was delicious, as was the French toast. We will return.

FDB Eatery is a hidden gem! Don't let first appearances fool you. When I walked in and saw the ice cream/take out counter, I was confused, but once seated I was pleasantly surprised. The Sauvignon Blanc by the glass was flavorful and the serving size was generous. The food was incredibly fresh and well prepared. The small heirloom tomatoes were extremely flavorful and the avocado was perfectly ripe in my salad. It tasted like a garden to table menu in the middle of summer but I was dining in December. FDB takes reservations which I always prefer, but they weren't necessary. Go to this restaurant soon, as this place is a treasure.

Great service! The staff shared responsibilities and were very responsive to our table. My mom is 81 and has a small appetite and ordered the fish and chips. She ate all of the fish (it was a good serving) and nearly all of the fries! We'll definitely be returning just for that. The calzone was delicious and and big so we went home with leftovers. Saving room for the frozen custard is a must!

We had made a reservation thru Open Table. Upon our arrival, we were the only customers in the entire restaurant, yet the waitress admonished us for not returning her call to confirm the reservation earlier in the day even though we had not been home to receive the call. Upon arriving home to hear the message we noticed that the person had not bothered to even leave the return phone #. The sandwiches were ok - messy with balsamic glaze squirted on the outside of the focaccia rather than on the chicken itself which was very much in need of flavor. Waitress was attentive during the meal.

This was my first visit to this restaurant, but my sister and friend who were with me, had been there previously. We arrived a few minutes early for our 12:30 reservation and it was pretty evident that they were busy. They have a walk up counter to order ice cream, and a bunch of tables to the right, behind a partition. After waiting for several minutes, one of the waitresses cleaned off a table next to the walk up counter and sat us there, where we were promptly forgotten. It took several minutes for our waitress (who sat us) to come ask for our drinks but she never brought us menus. About 5 minutes after that (still without drinks) my friend got up and asked another waitress to give us menus and silverware. Finally, our drinks arrived by a different waiter, who was very awkward and told us that it was a lot of drinks for him to be carrying. I don't see how that was pertinent to our drink order, but OK. Eventually, our actual waitress came back and asked for our food order. The wait time for the food wasn't bad itself, but we had to ask several times for more coffee & water, and since we weren't seated with anyone else, we were always forgotten. In fact, we only got 1 refill of coffee and water for our entire stay (1.5 hours).Once our food came, the waitress was pretty awkward with delivering it (which was when we had to ask for our refills) and eventually, I got up and asked the guy behind the ice cream counter for condiments that we needed. Finally, at the end of the meal, we asked for a box, which our waitress forgot about, and the awkward drink guy came back and took the plate away to box up in the back. Never in any of this, was my empty plate cleared, or my sisters plate asked to be boxed up and she had half her meal left. It wasn't until we were asked if we wanted dessert that the extra plates were cleared.

We live nearby but had never tried FDB until neighbors recommended it. There are often coupons in the weekly circular, so we grabbed one and headed over. What a find! Who knew this cozy bistro was tucked inside a take-out frozen custard bar? With a full renovation and menu that was launched about 18 months ago, FDB offers a friendly, tasty neighborhood option that is easy on the wallet and nice enough for Saturday night dates. They also offer a fantastic brunch menu, so we will be sure to go back.

There was a solid selection of beers and wines to choose from. My husband had a beer, and I had a merlot. Both were delicious with our meal. The two of us split the She-Crab soup, Beet and Goat Cheese salad, and the Short Ribs and Gnocchi. Portions are large and full of flavor and ingredients. Plenty of crab in the soup, as well as croutons and creme fraiche. The salad featured beets, candied walnuts, dried cranberries, avocado, cherry tomatoes, goat cheese and lettuce. The short ribs were served with braised onions, mushrooms and gravy. Everything was very filling and satisfying. We even had to bring home a doggy bag. We saved a bit of room to try the frozen custard, one scoop each of vanilla and chocolate. Service was attentive and helpful. Highly recommended!
