We have dined here several times and always enjoy the dinner. We love very spicy food and we thought the cold sesame noodles were too spicy. The fish was nice but was a very small portion. But overall we really enjoyed the food. The seating is very crowded together and the diner next to us sneezed many, many times and did not follow protocol so we felt uncomfortable. Despite this we had a nice dinner before visiting a nearby museum.

The Chop Shop restaurants (both I and II) are some of my favorite places to eat in all of NYC. The food is always excellent and Danny Emerman really knows how to put together a great restaurant from the food to the decor to the entire experience.

We really enjoyed our time. While seating is typical for a New York restaurant, where you're almost brushing elbows with your neighbors, it didn't detract from our experience! Everything we ordered was delicious and well prepared. The service was friendly, and the music was fun. Also, I loved the spicy passionfruit drink I had. We'd definitely go there again.

Had dinner at this place & liked the ambiance. Food is just average-everyday-lunch-place meal. I ordered a Lychees Spritz and it came in a tiny prosecco flute. Not quite appropriate quantity nor glass. The waitress was very nice and attentive though.

Food is pretty good, but I didn't get what I ordered and neither did my parents. I do not like mushrooms and I get a plate full of it, even if it was not written on the menu.

Service was terrible. Tiny iced tea, full of ice, $4, no refill. Ridiculous. Waitress cleaned the table right into my lap. Took forever with the bill. Made me late for my next appointment.

Well laid out restaurant with plenty of space. It was really busy but the service was super friendly and efficient. The soup and dumplings to start were delicious. The food arrived quickly and was outstanding. Would love to return.

~10 of us ate here three times in a one month period. Chop Shop was our go to after our Black Belt Promotion dates. The dishes are flavorful and good to share in the group. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual. Reservations with a large group are nice to give the staff a heads up. But if it’s spur of the moment they will probably be able to accommodate you.

My husband and I came in about 30 minutes before closing for a quick dinner on a weekday. And prior to coming we called to see if the kitchen was still open and they recommended us to definitely come. The ambiance is basic and simple, but what made our experience great was the food. It taste like authentic Thai with a nice flavorful kick to it that makes you want to explore the whole menu. We are not drinkers so we opted for only sparkling water and herbal tea. I had the shrimp risotto-which hit the spot! And my husband had a fried fish (I forget the exact name of it, not salmon though) that came with fried rice and a sauce that was such a divine combo. He enjoyed it himself though the fried rice was a bit overcooked. Overall I would definitely recommend going to this restaurant for a chill dinner that will hit the spot. We will definitely be back- plus the service was good too.

The summer rolls were sub par because of the poor quality mango and brown avocado. The spicy shrimp risotto and crab fried rice were both very good

OK ... to start, we were the only diners in the restaurant (because of the July 4th weekend), so the attention from the staff was obviously fantastic. Now, the food ... simply amazing. Just as I hoped, every dish we ordered lived up to the flavors we conjured in our minds reading the menu. We are planning to go back a few more times in order to eat everything on the menu at least once. I really don't know why anyone gave low scores for food based on what we had: braised pork belly buns, sauteed Chinese broccoli, drunken noodles, crab fried rice, Thai fried Branzino, coconut creme caramel. Any one of these are musts!
