Waitress was Courtney. I had the Prime rib, which they are known for, and French quarter oysters. The food was delicious and the service was excellent.
Had brunch meal of prime beef over potatoes with eggs. Eggs were not cooked to order, beef was not fresh and low quality. Others in party had shrimp scampi, and omletes which were good. Mine was very disappointing.
Great dining experience. Avocado Mango Crab Stack Appetizer was AMAZING!!
The Chart House is a very nice addition to the Lake Charles dining scene, which overall is limited. We liked most dishes tried - but each could be tweaked a bit to take them from very good to great. For instance, the kim chee calamari was good- the fish was very well cooked and lightly battered....but the sauce was too sweet, and could also benefit from some heat (sliced cayenne or jalapeno). The tuna was fresh, but could benefit from a more aggressively seasoned sauce. The crab/mango stack, one of our favorites, one night needed more "dressing- a squeeze of lime juice and some salt. My wife ordered the Cobb salad, and there was no salad, only toppings (bacon/blue cheese/eggs etc)??? So, the food could be easily raised from good to great w/ a few tweaks. Service is generally good and attentive- but the servers need to learn how to pour wine w/ no more than 4-6 oz in the glass. If we had not stopped our server several times, we would have had the wine glass filled to the brim - making it difficult to enjoy the wine.
Our steaks were cooked to perfection, service was excellent, and prices were reasonable. Will definitely return next time we stay in Lake Charles.
Went there for my Birthday date with my husband. As always enjoyed the food, atmosphere and the staff. Beautiful views and so nice to be able to have a conversation.
First time visit and everything was outstanding! Thank you Matt for taking such great care of us!
This restuarant never disappoints. The food is awesome and they have an incredible staff. 5 stars
Wonderful ladies luncheon, very quiet since all the men were golfing as it was a gorgeous day! Will return for evening dining!
Good food excellent service
Good food, great service, great menu, nice view,
The spinach/artichoke dip was reheated beyond eatable. It had no flavor and was dry and stiff. The clam chowder also lacked flavor and was without merit. My prime-rib, requested medium to medium-rare, was dry and had the flavor cooked out of it. it was eatable but was much like a cheap steak. My wife's shrimp and scallops she says were good. Not what I expected at that price point. It's a shame as the facility is nice and has a good view.
Food was awful from the appetizer to the desert. Wine was hood only because it was not made here (obviously).
Service was fine, only if the food was better. For the poor quality of food - the service matched. Will not come back
The food is amazing, we’ve been countless times and have never had a bad meal.
We enjoyed the food and service. The Prime Rib was outstanding. My wife’s Sort Rib was equally as giid
Wonderful service. Brunch menu has lots of options to please everyone. Moderately priced. $3 mimosas were delicious. View was lovely with nice relaxed ambiance. Quiet atmosphere so it was easy to hold a conversation without shouting. I recommend Chart House and will definitely go back again.
All around good food. It just can get a little loud in there.
The Golden Nugget Casino likes you to think this is high-end seafood restaurant. While it’s not awful it is just an average Landry restaurant.
We have dined there twice now. It’s a rather small venue so accommodating parties over four is difficult for them. They are constantly moving tables all over the dining room and chairs raised over their heads are moving everywhere. Gives it the appearance of a Luby’s Cafeteria with all that going one.
My wife and I split meals because we can never finish one on our own. We prefer to spend the cost of the unused food on a better bottle of wine and desert. The end result is the meal still cost the same but much less wasted food. The waitstaff was very accommodating in letting us share the meal but brought it out on one plate with a spare plate. While I understand this at a Mexican food restaurant I’m certainly not use to it in a place that dinner cost $250 for two people. When I mentioned that I was going to need utensils if I had to split the meal myself- they brought me a serving spoon and a butter knife. 🙄 While they list a “chef’s” name on the menu I assume in reality- there is really just a Kitchen Manager like at 95% of Landry restaurants.
So not horrible- just average.
Loved the food. Served hot and as ordered. Service was excellent. However, noise made it hard to even hear waiter. Not a place for quiet dinner.
Came here for my birthday. Located at the Golden Nugget in Lake Charles. Food was good and reasonably priced considering the location (golf clubhouse). They did make a mistake on my bar tab which the manager quickly corrected with apologies.
Enjoyed our time at Chart House!
All good!!! Loved the ability to Dock & Dine! Server could have been a tad bit “less hurried” but we would definitely return!!! We plan on returning!!!
Our waitress was really kind and checked on us without having to call for her.
Very good. One of our sides was forgotten when our meal arrived. Took a while to get but they didn’t charge for it so they tried to make it right. Overall the food and atmosphere was very good.
Food tasted great, waitress was super nice and checked on us multiple times. Overall great dining experience!
My prime rib and potatoes were very good but could have been hotter. Both were just warm. I had the chopped salad with vinegrette which was not good. I didn’t see any of the veggies that were supposed to be in it....radishes, pepperchinis etc. it was just a plate of chopped up lettuce with very little flavor. My husband had the chopped spinach salad and he said that was very good. His filet mignon was also delicious. Had the molten lava cake for dessert which was delicious as well. Overall it was a good experience and our waitress was friendly and attentive, but for the price it fell short of our expectations.
The only thing I was disappointed in was several couples around us received a free dessert for their occasion and our waiter never asked us if we were celebrating anything special.
Great experience in every possible way, great food, service, ambience and breath taking view, highly recommended
My husband and I come to the Golden Nugget quit often and spend every special occasion there. We normally eat at Vic & Anthony’s, but wanted to try the Chart House. We went for our 10 yr wedding anniversary and it was the worst food we have ever had. We were so disappointed and I must say, we expected way more from the Chart House and unfortunately we won’t EVER be back. We will stick with Vic & Anthony’s. Unsatisfied customer ~Mandy
Enjoyed a wonderful evening here; good vibe, modern decor, comfortable seating. The noise level was somewhat high, but tolerable. The Crab stack appetizer was not only estheticly pleasing, it was a refreshing light dish. The sea bass and Mahi entrees were good portions and nicely prepared. The brussel sprouts side dish was very good, but was not necessary with the rice and veggies served with the entrees. We definitely look forward to the next time.
We went for my Mother's 69th birthday! Everything was wonderful until the end of our dinner. We had to wait for our reservation about 15 minutes and that wasn't an issue as we had a drink and chatted--we had told the hostess that it was my mother's birthday and they noted it on the reservation. Server Payton was great! It was a busy Saturday but we never noticed until after our entree was served it was like we were completely forgotten about. Then we were never given the dessert menu only a coffee ice cream with a candle was delivered to my mom in a haste. As our server was walking away I had to shout for some coffee. We would have all loved to order dessert and had a coffee. Then we were brought the check---In my mind it was a busy Saturday maybe they had others waiting for our table. As we left we were welcomed to a few empty tables and an empty lobby......
One other issues was the bar tabs have to be paid before you go to the table. Understandable but it was almost as I was forbidden to walk into the dinning room before my $20.00 tab was paid. Again, I am sure they have had issues in the past but there were better ways to handle it.
Food was great! My mom was extremely happy and never noticed the issues, luckily.
Chart House had great atmosphere and great food for lunch.
A group of six went for a business lunch and because of the atmosphere, we could easily conduct business and talk without yelling at each other. All the dishes were as described and tasty. As a Landry's "nationwide" place, I was surprised that a mignonette wasn't available...but they gave it a shot which beats most places. Please put that on the platter along with the standard cocktail sauce and horseradish and at that point, your oysters would have been perfect. Short of that everyone enjoyed the meal.
Made reservations for 915 but didn’t get our table until 1015.
Additionally, once we were sat down, service was extremely slow for a restaurant at this price point.
Food came out warm at best.
Great place and great food. A bit of a wait even with reservations. Will return!!!!
Great dining, staff and food! Thank you!
We had tickets to a show and went for dinner before the show. Loved my lobster and shrimp rolls. My hubby had a steak and lobster special that was also excellent. We finished with a delightfully decadent molten chocolate cake.
The server understood my food allergies and accommodated me.
I love how y’all take care of your dinners! We had no complaints! The food the ambience and the service was A1 we applaud you! Thank you Chart House!
This restaurant is a new find. Located in its own building outside the Golden Nugget, it apparently serves as the golf course clubhouse. There is a nice view at sunset, but televisions dominate the bar area, and are even annoyingly on the walls of the dining room. Besides that, the ambiance is superior to Vic and Anthony's, and a bit more relaxed than Ember.
The service was excellent: professional and attentive. The drinks were well-made, and the food was quite good. As a pescatarian, I was pleased with the selection of seafood dishes available. All in all, a very good find, and I will definitely return.
