I love the food at Pizza By Elizabeth, but I must say I feel the staff is never super friendly starting with the hostesses that greet and seat you. And because the restaurant seems to always be crowded, the wait staff always seems rushed, making them not rude but a little short tempered with slight attitude. Would it keep me from going back? Probably not , because the food is just too darn good!!
This is no average pizza joint. The appetizers are unique. We ordered the bread sticks with three dips: basil pesto, green olive pesto and mushroom duxelles sauce. Bread was warm, dips were great, really great. We each ordered one of the speciality pizzas. Both were very good. The combination of ingredients was unique and inspired. Lastly, on an impulse we ordered dessert - something we don't do often. We choose the Kentucky Butter Cake. OMG! Service was good albeit a little slow but it didn't take anything away from the experience.
I always have a good experience. The servers are a;ways "spot on"!
Has become a Birthday tradition for both of my daughters for several years and they'll get no complaint from me. Fresh ingredients, innovative dishes and great service.
My favorite specialty pizza place to take friends from out of town. Never disappoints !
Although it was Halloween evening, the music was terrible and far too loud. I had to ask to have the music turned down as we could not carry on a conversation comfortably. We would have stayed for another glass of wine but by then we just wanted to leave. ( No we are not senior citizens ). Restaurants need to remember that people come to chat and enjoy conversation as well as good food. Music should be barely audible as a nice background. I will try Elizabeth’s again but if the music is too loudI will go elsewhere. Thanks
Had a wonderful reunion lunch after 20 years. Always a favorite.
Our server was extremely pleasant and helpful with questions pertaining to Vegan options. The Vegan pizza crust was very flavorful. At the end of the meal she brought out the regular toffee sample and a sample of Lemon Shorbet for the Vegan.
The only downside was the length it took to receive the food.
Service was a little slow and disjointed at times. However, food itself was very good though a
little costly after having add sides. A little 'too noisey' for me - difficult to hold a
conversation with a large number of people at table. Perhaps have a round table for
6 or more at a setting would help.
I always look forward to dining at Pizza by Elizabeths. Great food, great ambiance and love the neighborhood it is in.
Food was good as always. Server was pleasant but was pushing appetizers at lunchtime, asking several times if we wanted them. She seemed to rush us even though restaurant wasn’t crowded, and never offered fresh Parmesan on pizzas or water refills. When two women get together for lunch on a Saturday there should be an expectation that they are there to socialize with one another
Food was great. I highly recommend the current October Specials, especially the baked brie. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of foods that weren't pizza. Overall great experience, wish it was a tad cheaper
I brought family from SC, they were very impressed with the decor and the food, i made a great choice.
Love the tomato soup w croutons. Prices keep heading up, almost $50 for lunch for two w water to drink and no dessert just seems high to me!
I've been dining at PBE for 20+ years - rarely does it disappoint. The menu is a bit limited so look before you book - but they have an excellent wine list and the kind of beer I prefer. The staff is friendly and efficient, and I can find healthy choices (which is important for me). We've made it our regular stop.
Full disclosure - from time to time they have live music - which can be too loud for some folks. Also, the back half of the restaurant can be reserved for parties - that limits available seating.
Even in light of these things - its our go to place.
My seasonal salad with butternut squash, walnuts, goat cheese and pomegrantes and lavendar dressing was delcious.
We usually go for pizza but that night I had crab cake sliders which were pretty good but my husband had a burger and he said it was fair. We will stick to pizzas which are great!
pizza is always great!! love that everyone can have their own pizza with toppings they love!
We love it there!
I love going to Pizza by Elizabeth. I sent quite a few co-workers and they only had positive experiences and friendly staff. I will be there again soon,
Our group enjoyed everything bout it!! The server was engaging, the food good, and the decor delightful. The wine and dessert list were enticing.
Nice lunch with friends. Good menu selection. Little noisy with group meeting. Will certainly go back.
Always a great experience! Food amazing as always.
Went for a business meeting. Used opentable to book reservation which worked out great. The food was really good with a pleasant atmosphere to discuss our topic.
Friendly...but high noise level! Good service..Great thincrustedpizza..Reasonable wine & beer choices & prices..Order pizza for portion to go home! Good the next few days!!A winner!!!
They need a real chef. Salads were OK but the dressing as thick as mayonnaise and did not complement the fruit. Pizza was near dreadful. Canned black olives. Almost raw onions on a sweet crust that did not blend with a Mediterranean style pizza. Server took our used untenable after salad and put them back on the table. No table cloth. Basics are absent here. A great location friendly staff but the food?
Meeting friends and shopping ❤️
Polite and friendly service
Food was light and the wine was refreshing 😎
Fabulous evening, excellent service and delicious food! Thanks so much!!!
This place consistently delivers!
Great restaurant for kid-friendly dining! I drive to Elizabeths’ from Baltimore to meet my niece and her children from New Jersey, so we appreciate being able to enjoy a long lunch. The pizza is outstanding!
Had a great time at Pizza by Elizabeth's! Great ambiance and the food and service was fantastic! Will definitely be going again!!!
Pizza here is terrific..always good ingredients
Better than most places love the little meatballs &also bread sticks
A luscious lunch, we come here a few times a year..worth the ride
Have been dining at Elizabeth’s for years and it never disappoints!
We enjoyed meeting there. It’s a fun, lively spot. We were surprised that one of the salads used only basil for the greens. It needed a mixture.
Given the 98% Open Table recommendation, I thought this would be a very special place. It was OK. Heirloom tomato tartine with smashed avocado and ricotta sounded delicious but the presentation was so much less. Same with the Panzanella. Queen pie was OK but didn’t take it home. The Montgomery pie was worth eating. Chicken tortilla soup was good. We live 30 minutes away. Won’t go back.
There was an issue with our friends drink it was not handled properly at first. The bottle was given to the hostess to bring to the table....that was offensive! I guess the bar tender thought he should make another drink an bring it over to the customer and explain what was in it. In the end the waitress took it off the bill which was appreciated.
Pizza by Elizabeth’s is consistently a very good place to meet friends for a meal, enjoy a good glass of wine and select from menu of interesting pizzas. A friend and I usually order large salad to share and a pizza to share as main course. This time we revered the “Saint” with crab topping, tasty but pretty oily/greasy. I just started Weight Watchers so the meal, while enjoyable, cost me a lot of points for the day!
Fun afternoon with family enjoying creative pizzas and yummy salads! So enjoyed the ambiance and attentive service. We are anxious to return to experience the next round of pizza choices.
We have been eating at PBE’s for years and will continue to because it is close and generally good. However, over the last couple of years, we have often noticed that it is not what it used to be. It is not as clean, the food is fine but very pricey for what it is (salad and pizza) and although they used to be (15 years ago) one of the few places with GF pizza and sensitivity to those with GF issues, they have not changed their pizza crust and it is no longer close to being the best. I no longer eat GF pizza there very often because it is disappointing. Their soups are often good but they are small portions for the price and many times have no GF options and then have 2 (it would be great if they could try to have one at all times). I just hate to see a place that has been a staple for us not continue to stay what it once was.
Always consistently delicious!
