   Wonderful evening celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary. Qutstanding service by Christie and service staff, food was excellent, unexpected actions by the restaurant to add to our wonderful evening of celebration. Bravo

   As usual, Rick Erwin’s Eastside was perfect. The food was perfect. The service (Ryan) was second to none. Complete class!The ambience. . . Music (Sinatra & Bublé) was perfect unlike anywhere else. The best local for fine dining and special occasions in the entire upstate.

   Food was fine but service was horrible (nonexistent). The restaurant wasn't even full so there was no excuse for the lack of service. This restaurant used to be one of our favorites when it first opened years ago but over the years it had declined, so we quit going, altogether. About 6 months ago we decided to give it another try and were pleasantly surprised. Have been a couple times this winter and it was great. This improvement was not long lived, however. Will not be going back. Very disappointing.

    This was one of my wife and I's best experiences in a dine-out environment in a very long time, and some of the best food we've had in ages. The steak was EXTREMELY tender even for a filet which generally are anyways, the Chilean sea bass was extraordinary. Would DEFINITELY recommend this for anyone looking to do a nice dine out experience!

    The service was very good. My daughter got the tuna and my wife the scallops. They were both very pleased. My bison was cooked perfectly but the cut was a little tough. I was surprised to see people wearing jeans, tennis shoes, and t shirts given there was supposed to be a dress code.

    Service level has really fallen off in the last 6 months. All of the regular servers except 1 or 2 have left. No longer the place where everyone knows you. Sad.

    We went for a birthday celebration dinner and sat at the bar. The service was great and the food delicious. We were surprised with a birthday dessert. Everything was fabulous! And we will definitely be back!

    Dinner at Rick Erwin’s is always special and consistent. The food is outstanding regardless of what you may order. The steak was perfectly cooked, the scallops were not overcooked. The red velvet butter cake was divine. We choose to dine at Rick Erwin’s because we know what we will receive…delicious food, attentive service and a well-conceived ambiance.

    The food was excellent and the service even better! Saxon took great care of us and the house manager was wonderful as well. It was our first visit since relocating to SC from NJ and I highly recommend the restaurant.

    We just love this restaurant. The quality of the service & food are top notch. I’m sure all servers here are great, but we’ve made a habit of requesting Saxon for the third time now and he’s been perfect each time!

    Honestly, such a monumental disappointment at all levels. After having a very nice experience at Rick Erwin's Eastside last month, we went back last evening and had, quite possibly, the worst experience ever at a fine dining establishment. The service was absolutely atrocious. There were long stretches of time where we simply sat and stared at dirty food plates and empty glasses, as our 2 waiters (yes, 2 waiters) seemed completely inept at the timing of courses, clearing plates or just the basics of restaurant service. After our appetizer arrived, which was average at best, we waited at least 20 minutes after we had finished--so we sat and looked at the empty plate for 20 minutes--before being visited by another waiter to order our entrees. When the entrees actually arrived, about 45 minutes after that, they were not only lukewarm, but just not good overall. Both of our entrees tasted bland and were poorly presented on the plates. Not what you expect for a $300 meal for two people. We expressed our disappointment to the waiter, who indicated she would "tell the chef". We didn't see here again for about an hour, when she came back and simply pretended everything was fine. Perhaps it's different when Rick Erwin is actually on site at the restaurant, as another reviewer commented. On our first experience there, Rick was going around to tables introducing himself, and asking how we were enjoying our meal. The food and service at that visit was excellent. It was truly a 180 degree experience from last night. Terrible service, mediocre-to-bad food that was bland, poorly arranged on the plate and then having the pleasure of sitting and staring at the half-eaten food for long periods of time I wish this place was better--for the money, it should absolutely be better. Sadly, we will not be returning as there are far, far better establishments in the Greenville and Greer area.
