L'Allegria Ratings and Reviews
I made a reservation on open table and left a comment that I was there celebrating my parents 40th anniversary. When we got to the restaurant, it had our name in the reservation book and what we were celebrating. The entire night went and not one person said happy anniversary or acknowledged the occasion. After saying something to the waiter they still did nothing.....didn’t even offer us anything. The food was eh and it’s very pricey. I cannot believe an upscale restaurant would act in this manor.
The worst dining experience I've had in years. Food took over 2 hours to arrive. Server only checked once with us to ask if we wanted dessert, and we had not received our entrees yet. They were totally disorganized. We left after 3 hours, 15 minutes. Food was bland and tasteless.
They tried to make amends by buying each of us a glass of wine and offered free dessert, but by then we were thoroughly disgusted.
We went out for my husbands birthday. The food was excellent but my fish portion was small. The service was slow for an empty restaurant. It was a 1000 points promotion for that evening. It was a problem to receive my points due to incompatible computers Eventually I received it,
With our theater production ending almost an hour before our reservation time at L'Allegria, we were accommodated immediately, served promptly and presented with the restaurant's typically exquisite menu. We have been dinning here for over 20 years as occasional patrons but treated as if we were regular guests. They do not miss a single step in providing ad elegant dinning experience.
While the food was very good, the service was poor. During the lunch hour there was a very small crowd and we had to wait for our waiter too many times . The restaurant did not appear to be that busy for lunch hour, yet the waiter service took an inordinate amount of time.
We were looking for a quiet and romantic dinner because it was date night for my husband and me. We loved the elegant ambiance including the piano player. We were able to relax and talk and not be disturbed by loud diners around us. The food was excellent starting with the bread through dessert! Don't miss the tiramisu.
always high-quality food with fresh ingredients, with lots of options. classic Italian, good to great service, solid value. We've gone many times, but never on Friday and it was the most crowded I've ever seen (I only saw 1 open table as we left). Nice live piano music. I almost always get the specials as there's something good each time.
Have dined here many times always enjoying the experience and the food. This last time, we were a little disappointed with the service and dinner, as well as the specials offered. We were also very annoyed when told we had to put appetizer and dinner order in at the same time. We were beyond starving, but couldn't decide on the entrees we wanted. With that, it ruined what could have been a beautiful dinner. At that point, we really didn't enjoy the food. Left a "sour" taste for us. Not sure how quick I will rush back, unfortunately.
One of our favorite Italian restaurants where the food is authentic and consistantly great. Love the great pianist playing in the bar too. Only wish is that they would update the bar and restaurant decor (80's) so that the surroundings would match the great food.
An overall fabulous meal! There was no negative at all! Three of our party found the duck
superlative (and these are people who have eaten the bird in other countries). They raved about the crisp skin and lack of grease. The osso bucco and lamb shank were likewise praised as far from the ordinary. The service was impeccable and the wine list above-average.
L'allegria is consistently fine, with excellent food and outstanding service. Had a little more garlic than we like, but I'd say it's our bad for not asking to ease up on that. Each course was wonderful. We go somewhat regularly and I almost never order off the menu, as there's always at least 1 great fresh special to go with, even though I'm fussy. Many good wines at reasonable prices. The wine menu on the table has at least a couple choices for reds or whites at low prices, and the full wine list is extensive, although not so good on price.
Overall a great experience. A party of 9 in our own separate area which was nice. Waiter came around often enough but not as often to describe the service as exceptional. Although the food was good, the price:value ratio was high. For example, our scallop and shrimp fra Diavolo was not served with linguine, that was extra, so 34 dollars had an extra 14 dollars added on for a total of 48 dollars. Steep for 3 large scallops, 5 shrimp and linguine.
food was fine, but portions were very small for the price! My filet mignon was tiny at $33 and the polenta was a 1" square! seriously???? fish was a better value! Service was ok, but not stellar and desserts were too small to even consider! tiniest piece of cheesecake I ever saw! with a groupon, may be worthwhile, but not if paying full tab!
