Service was subpar for a restaurant of this caliber. It was made worse by the waiter asking if we wanted our change back from our payment despite the bill already being inclusive of 18% gratuity, far more than what he deserved as a result of his poor quality of service.

La magnifique terrasse, le service attentionné et la grande qualité des plats sont les atouts ce restaurant. Le seul bémol est qu'il fait tellement froid à l'intérieur du restaurant qu'il est impossible d'y manger. Pourquoi certains restaurants en Floride s'imaginent que tous leurs clients aiment être frigorifiés lorsqu'ils vont à leur établissement ? Faite plaisir à votre clientèle et arrêté de les faire grelotter.

We were celebrating birthday of our friend. He and his wife were in Gaston's restaurant in Peru. They enjoyed it there. Our server was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable about the m. Foods were great and Peruvian drinks were wonderful. I enjoyed it verymuch.

The views are spectacular, but the food and the service were a bad experience. Our waiter only came to our table like two times, and when I asked for the drink menu he told me "sure", but never came back with it so I let it slide. Then he didnt come back, at all... he would always skip our table and be gone for a long time. When we were ready to leave, we waited for over 20 minutes and he never came, so we had to ask another person that worked there to give us the check. You would expect that food would be delicious for the outrageous high price you're paying, but no. The food was terrible, the cebichero I ordered was supposed to be ceviche, jalea and causa. The ceviche literally tasted like fish soaked in water with only three drops of lime juice (very dry), the causa was fair, and the jalea was just fried seafood with no flavor. My fiance ordered chaufa, and it was missing a lot of flavor also. Overall, it was a horrible experience, it was supposed to be a nice romantic dinner but instead we left feeling disappointed. We may only return for the drinks in the outdoor bar area and for the views.

Very accommodating and friendly staff. Food was fast scallops were delicious. Portions were large enough. The dishes are good maybe i'm not a fan of peruvian overall. We had a great time dinned inside this time. Last time was outside and that was great as well.

La Mar has a beautiful view with outstanding staff and delicious food! Our waitress was awesome too! We had 5 dishes and each one was flavorful and had their own elegance to it. This restaurant is definitely a must try. And this place is one of my FAVORITE restaurants by far. You will not be disappointed.

Even tho I had a reservation, I was kept waiting for extensive time. After our party was seated, we waited almost half an hour for the server to arrive and another half an hour for the drink to arrive. Food was quick and good but wish the overall experience was improved by the front of the house staff.

We were looking forward to eating at La Mar during our visit to Miami. We were seriously let down by the food and the service by the waiter was supbar. Although the bussers were great. We were very much looking forward to the ceviche sampler and were shocked to find the fish used in the ceviche to be smelly and not fresh at all. The grilled seafood platter was a good value and tasted good but wasn't extraordinary. The desserts were the best part of the meal. We received a free chocolate raspberry mousse cake as a anniversary gift and ordered the chocolate journey which was delicious but we didn't know what we were eating. We are accustomed to having explanations of our food and we didn't receive any unless we asked which was frustrating. We felt that the money we paid went towards the amazing view and location which is the best we have experienced. We don't believe that this restaurant is worth the money and don't forget the valet costs $16!!

We took our daughter and her friend there for dinner. We had never been to a Peruvian restaurant before so the menu was a bit confusing. Our waiter took the time to go over everything with us we had the ceviche sampler. Tostadas and empanadas for starters. They were all delicious. Our entrées did not disappoint either. They were all very flavorful and well portioned. The water and Brickell skyline views are beautiful. We will definitely be back.

This restaurant was located at the Mandarin Oriental in Miami. We were in the mood for Peruvian so we figured we would give it a try. The restaurant was not very busy and the service was not very attentive. This is sometimes normal in restaurants where gratuity is automatically included. They had a limited but decent wine selection by the glass. We ordered a couple of appetizers. I ordered a bottle of flat Panna water. We also ordered 2 main dishes. I also ordered a glass of white wine. The first issue was that my water glass had a smell. Nothing upsets me more than pouring a nice Panna water into a glass and expecting a crisp water and getting a dishwasher residue smell like it was not rinsed properly. They replaced my glass and got it right the second time. The Ceviche and octopus was great as an appetizer. They also give you plantain chips with a nice sauce to dip. Our main dishes are where we ran into an issue. The fried rice dish with vegetables and shrimp was great. The Planchaza dish started off great too. The prawns, scallops, and octopus was great. However, the calamari they used had an amonia smell once you cut into them. It was the most insignificant part of the dish and it had issues. They were all bad and had this smell once you cut into them. We informed the manager and they did their thing. We were not charged for this portion of the meal. We did not stay for desert.

Location is amazing, interior decor is really good, the ambiance was made accordingly to the restaurant’s concept. The menu is truly Peruvian about the dishes and ingredients. It seems like a great idea when it comes to a special occasion or a business meal. I would definitely come back in my next visit to miami.
