    Had a great waitress, Jenny....friendly and accommodating. Food was delicious...and that is why we always eat there whenever we go to the Botanical Gardens.

    I would love to dine here more frequently but everything costs so much. And when ordering drinks they will not give you bread or anything to nibble on. Bread costs between $4 for pita and $10.00 for focaccia! And not even a cracker for the overpriced soup. SMH.i wish there was a maybe response to whether or not I'd recommend to a friend. I'd say they need to come prepared to spend a lot. I do like the ambience and most of the dishes I've ordered over the years have been good.

    We've been going to Hudson Garden Grill for many years with our family, particularly around the holidays. The food is a bit over-priced, but it's always been very good and at times excellent! Unfortunately, we noticed that the service has increasingly gotten worse especially in the last two years. There were long waits between courses and the food didn't come out at the same time during our last visit. When confronting one of the servers about our food, the server explained that another table has been waiting 40 minutes for their food and thanked me for being patient. I got the impression this was the norm, perhaps understaffing in the kitchen, I'm not sure. It's still a lovely spot to eat while at the gardens... but only wish the service complimented the food and ambiance.

    The food, drinks, and service were fantastic. The waiter suggested the short ribs and they were delicious, as was the chicken and our Burrata starter. The cinnamon cocktail was surprisingly tasty. The hibiscus cocktail was like a Margarita. Unfortunately it was cold inside. If only some of the outside heaters could also be moved inside. Be prepared with a hat or layers if it’s that cold outside (40 degrees or below).

    Service and ambiance excellent. However, this day the chef was a little bit delayed in deciding the fish for the day. It took a bit longer but they didn’t rush us out. The food was delicious.

    My reservation was made early because I had three grandchildren (ages 8/10/13) with two of their friends. Server immediately put their order in quickly and my son-in-law were able to make our selection at our own timing. Great experience and good food.

    So, place is beautiful, food was better than I remembered from a few years ago. The reason I can't give it a 5 star is the drinks are ridiculously priced for the size you get. The cocktail glass was possibly 8 oz, for $16. The bar area could be SO nice to stop and get a drink. Wait staff was good, not great. They just seemed a bit slow for as few tables as they were working.

    Hudson Garden Grill is an up-scale restaurant on the grounds of the New York Botanical Gardens. It reminds us of Tavern on the Green in Central Park - lovely food and ambiance in an idyllic setting. The menu, while not large, is exquisite. We were particularly fond of a special appetizer, artichoke hearts in parmesan, as well as their buffalo cauliflower. The lamb tagliatelle is superb, as is the short ribs. Their burger is a singular experience. If you're lucky enough to get their pumpkin creme brûlée (I believe that may be a seaonsal dish), grab it!!

    The fish special, grouper, was served lukewarm. The wine I ordered was out of stock. Those were the negatives. Positives were excellent attentive service, quiet inviting atmosphere and the rest of the meal was tasty and well prepared.

    This restaurant could not be more conveniently located. The food is great: try the zuchini chips and dipping sauce (yummy)! The ambience is also lovely, the chairs are comfortable, and the views are great! A winner all around!

    I liked my Mahi Mahi fish of the day special very much. The only reason I didn't give it the excellent rating is that it wasn't out-of-this-world extraordinary as in some of the meals I've eaten in Italy (Florence, Rome, Lake Como and the Dolomites), China (the Peninsula Hotel), and Turkey. Our server, Jena, was exceptionally pleasant, professional, and made sure we had everything we needed. She's a real keeper!

    Lovely setting, good food, nice wine by the glass and cocktail selections. We particularly loved the bourbon cocktail, butternut squash bisque and the sweet potato fries with hot honey. Gluten free selections though not plentiful (some apps and entree salads- no entrees) were clearly marked. Service was good.

    Alfredo our server was excellent and very attentive. We have no complaints about him or the food. The person at the door when we arrived first stated that we were 5 minutes late, then said to hurry as the kitchen was closed. This was utter nonsense, we were 5 minutes late because the path to the restaurant was blocked for construction of the train show, and the kitchen closed? Why were we able to make a reservation is the kitchen was closed?

    Actually getting into the restaurant was a problem, as the Garden’s sidewalks surrounding the restaurant were all blocked off. We finally tromped across a lawn to reach the entry door. Once we were in, it was very tasty, very enjoyable.

    A lovely place to stop for a meal at the Garden -- or even to seek out! Peaceful spot, tables really nicely spaced, and gorgeous views from every seat.     Due to construction of the Holiday Train Show, you must circumvent the garden in order to arrive at the restaurant but it is well worth it!

    The food wasn’t as good as we had remembered. We ordered the roast squash with eggplant “caviar” and it was served room temperature. Was not expecting it to be room temperature. The salmon niciose salad is served with cured salmon. The description did not mention it is cured salmon. The cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks were bland, lacked character. We ordered the smashed ginger and it tasted more pineapple than ginger if any. It is a nice place to go for food if you want to sit down in a restaurant setting.

    This was an unfortunate experience particularly as we had invited an out if town visitor to a place we have enjoyed in the past. We waited 45 minutes for our food. Two out of three of the orders were wrong. One of us enjoyed the meal and for another it was inedible. Other diners that day were also surprised at how the place had deteriorated since their last visit. I hope they get their act together

    It took for ever to get our food, the waiter was distracted with other tables, the food was to as good as usual. We were there 3 hours ! Our table was not steady and despite asking the waiter to fix it we had to do it ourselves.

    Excellent menu - My arugula & Kale salad was delirious. As important. all ingredients were fresh. Over the past few years, prices continue to be reasonable for these inflationary times. Service and staff were excellent. Use the OpenTable app. It's convenient, and this will save you shelping across the Garden to make a reservation.
