Wako was surely one of, if not, the finest sushi dinner I've had in San Francisco. Just exquisite fish, flavors, and presentation. The appetizers and surrounding dishes of the Omikase were very excellent as well. But if you just want the sushi, the sushi tasting is a better value. You get the same number of pieces of sushi for less money.

Always a must when visiting San Francisco to have reservations at this restaurant. The Omakase or sushi tasting are both amazing explosions of flavor with every piece. Extremely recommend trying this place.

The omakase choice was the best, and every dish kept on getting better. I enjoyed the shrimp head and uni the most.

We did one omakase and one tasting menu (the only difference is that the omakase includes an uni sashimi and tamago). I am not a wasabi fan so I asked for no wasabi in my dishes. For each dish, the waitress describes the ingredients and how it was cooked, and also how each dish is meant to be eaten. The appetizers are delicious; I loved the deep fried sweetfish appetizer as well as the mushroom soup. The sashimi of course is incredible, no surprises there. The noise level is perfect, quiet to moderate. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

Fantastic omakase. Can’t complain. Lower score on value because this will set you back! Three people, bottle of white wine ($75), tax, SF health mandate, and 18% tip equals $630 bill. Bon Appetite!
