Locanda Del Borgo
We serve genuine traditional Italian recipes with our Chef's personal touch, in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Our Chef bases his creations on his 25 years experience in the restaurant business.
Our philosophy is to serve free range and naturally raised farm products whenever possible, and we try to support local farmers as much as we can.
Our menu is paired with an Italian based wine list with international accents, including wines from USA, Spain, Australia, Argentina and others.
Lunch: Tuesday - Friday: 11:30am - 2:00pm
We have gone to Locanda del Borgo for many years now. However, the last few months, beginning last Summer, we've had a real Problem with the inordinate amount of cooking smoke in the restaurant. This is a most unpleasant situation, leaving one's clothes smelling afterwards.
Please work on improving your ventilation system so this problem disappears. Thank you.
I hadn't been to this restaurant in a number of years - and was happy to see it was as good as I had remembered. It was very cozy on a cold night; the food was delicious; and the service perfect.... I'll definitely be back again.....
Locanda is our go-to restaurant for dinner on most Fridays. Great menu with varieties of meals. Comfortable and cozy, we are always well taken care of.
The food was marginal at best. The prosciutto appetizer was ok, but definitely not the best prosciutto I’ve had. The homemade breadsticks were fantastic. The Bolognese was great as well. Also ordered the skirt steak and requested medium, but it came well done and flavorless. Probably won’t be back.
If you love pasta but watch your carbs, try the whole wheat spaghetti. It’s delicious.
Pasta dishes are delish. Avoid the veal scallopini.
Our server Levi knew exactly what drinks to serve us and made them beautifully.
Locanda always hires good servers, but Levi is exceptional. Thanks.
Usually one of my favs- consistent good quality food at a fair price and a comfortable welcoming atmosphere. This time, my dinner was horrible. I sent back the first time as it was barely warm and I should’ve sent back a second time as the meatballs were like rubber. I probably won’t order the spaghetti and meatballs again anytime soon and it will be awhile before I revisit this restaurant. Very disappointed and I let ownership and management know.
It was our first time at this restaurant, we went with 2 other couples and my brother. It was awesome, the ambiance, the energy. The food was delicious!!! We loved everything we had, the paperdelle with the bolognese was outstanding and we ordered the risotto to pass around and that was delicious. We will definitely be going back!
Everything was delicious and freshly made to order!
Great food, consistently good.
I'm a first generation Italian and enjoy good (authentic) Italian food. The food at Locanda del Borgo is phenomenal, the service is excellent and the atmosphere is what you expect to find in a good restaurant. I'm already planning my next visit to Locanda del Borgo, there are many more entree's that I want to try.
Service was slow due to kitchen. Food was ok. Troy was a good waiter.
Great place in our neighborhood. Very consistent good food. Have been going there for several years now and also enjoy sister restaurant Café Mercado- especially in the summer as their outdoor seating area is quite nice. And, when Locanda is closed on Mondays Cafe Mercado is open!
Exceptional food and dining experience. The grilled seafood salad is a meal in and of itself plus it is delicious. I would go back for that salad alone even though the pasta and other dishes were great.
5 people. Mixed food reviews. Branzino good. Spaghetti/clams too much red pepper. Seafood salad good. Risotto bland.
Although we were at back table, we all smelled like smoke from the grill when we left.
We enjoyed our dinner very much. I ordered Branzino and it was cooked to perfection! The sides of roasted brussel sprouts and potatoes were great and the portions were extremely large. Our party of 6 was able to enjoy a great evening without loud music and the need to yell to be heard. I will say that the restaurant was not busy at all and it seemed strange to be in an almost empty restaurant on a Saturday night. We also felt that we were keeping the restaurant from closing as we were the only table left at 9:30 in the evening. I know that this is a neighborhood restaurant but that's super early to start closing.
We've eaten at Locanda del Borgo many times. Though this time and the previous time, we were almost overwhelmed by the smoke in the restaurant. I asked them to open the door to the patio, which helped. However, my clothes smelled of smoke for hours. They need to fix their ventilating system and/or cook in a less smoky fashion. This is unacceptable and uncomfortable for the dining customers. Surely, the staff should understand this.
Otherwise, we had a tasty dinner.
Excellent food and service. The patio was very near a busy street and quite noisy so conversation was sometimes difficult. Will select a table inside next time.
This is a reliable excellent restaurant. It is a hidden gem for luncheon meetings.
We lucked out as we caught the restaurant on a quieter day! With 3 of us and 2 with hearing issues, it was perfect. Our waiter was beyond excellent..very attentive, interesting, efficient and effective. It was a birthay and we had a wonderful time plus the food was excellent. This is one gem of a restaurant. A+
Up to its usual standards. Everyone’s meal was first rate. There were eight of us and everyone found something just to there liking.
This is true neighborhood gem. Authentic Italian/Sicilian food, fresh ingredients, proper preparation and presentation. The bar is also excellent and friendly for craft cocktails and food service.
I asked the waiter if I could get the Mussels and Clams in a white wine / garlic sauce in stead of the tomato sauce on the menu. The chief was very accommodating and made some of the best M&C I've ever tasted. Thanks to the kitchen and the wait staff for a very pleasant evening.
One of our favorite places. The food is always terrific and service prompt and friendly. Would strongly recommend
The food was dated. Except for the ravioli special that we had, all the other food including the bread was very lack luster and felt as if it had been contemporary over ten years ago. Our server was in the weeds even though there were empty tables. It's a nice space though. I would recommend an update to the food across the board except maybe the specials if they are truly created as specials.
Great place, but If you really want to have a conversation you need to go later. If you go before 730 you can be quite loud. The service is always lovely and the food has yet to disappoint.
OK seemed like a cute little neighborhood spot I found on OpenTable and looked at the menu and it looked appealing. Upon arrival I noticed they had a full bar my dad loves a bloody Mary he said it was the worst bloody Mary he’s had to date! Our server was nice however not over enthusiastic about his job… We ordered the prosciutto with Burrata to begin, The prosciutto was cut a bit thick and was tough like dried out and the burrata was very watery...
My dad said the meatballs were tough but tasted OK (in the spaghetti and meatballs) the ‘fresh pasta’ was too chewy. I ordered the homemade tagliatelle with eggplant and mozzarella the sauce was good however the homemade noodles tasted so chewy I couldn’t eat them, it was as if they were under cooked and too thick. (more like a thin dumpling but longer.) My step mom had the halibut, again the sauce was tasty but the fish was clearly frozen for sometime. I wish I could give this place a better review it’s a cute neighborhood place
Food average. Pasta cold
Really enjoyed this gem of a restaurant. Highly recommend.
The only thing that bothered me was I ordered a second bottle of a wonderful Italian wine vintage 2015 on wine list and the waiter brought me out a 2016 bottle but didn’t say anything until I noticed and then still charged me the same price
This genuine neighborhood gem serves some of the loveliest Italian food around. The menu changes slightly but still has some favorites that stick around: It is hard NOT to order the gnocchi every time, but there are no bad items on the menu. Portions are generous and beautifully presented, so you will leave satisfied both artistically and gastronomically. This combination of wonderful, warm ambiance with reasonable prices for both the quality and quantify of food make this a repeat spot for either family or business or a nice romantic evening. A single seat at the bar to a group of 8 or more could be comfortable and pleasant. The founder is an absolute delight and the sister restaurant, Café Mercato in the Lowry neighborhood equally delicious. I hope Locanda del Borgo is around for a long, long time It is one of the bright spots in a challenging industry. Thank you for restoring the faith !
We have been to Locando many, many times since it opened. We tell people about it often.
However, this last visit was very disapppointing. The pasta dishes were very ordinary. The pork chop entree was a shadow of its former self. The gelato deserts also not special. The nougat one was bad. I hope this turns around because when it's busy there is a great vibe. We wondered why there were so many empty tables on a Friday night but now we know its because the quality is not there.
We ate outdoors on the shaded patio area. It was a very hot day, but the overhead fans kept us comfortable. Service was properly attentive. Gluten-free pasta was available and it was good. We are regulars as the food here is always excellent (we do have some Sicilian in our DNA).
Totally solid all around. We had a large table, both the service and food were great.
Food is consistently excellent as there were many good choices for my 2 vegetarian friends! Bread not quite as good as it used to be but pasta and salads excellent! 2 house wines were good
Warm Denver evening led us to seating outside, which was a great choice despite some moderate traffic noise. Our waiter was quick to arrive as we sat down and also when our dinner partners came a few minutes later. He was extremely patient as we had drinks, two appetizers, Bruschetta and Brussel Sprouts, plus lots of deliberation over the reasonably wide menu. To say we also took lots of time with catch up conversation before finally ordering didn’t seem to distract him at all...he was great...no pressure at all. The entrees arrived in timely fashion. Three had the daily special...a very wonderful Lasagna that pleased them all. My pasta dish with salmon was good, but the salmon wasn’t too apparent...would not order again. All portions were quite generous. The dessert menu is limited, but we opted out anyway. We will return...a fun evening in the neighborhood.
A delicious and delightful experience. Tucked in a neighborhood, this really is a gem. There were nine of us. The menu has a variety. The quality of the food was nice. Halibut piccata was the special. Delicious. The waiter was efficient, but not invasive. A lovely evening.
Good as usual
First time I was disappointed here. Pork chop, which used to be fantastic, was thin, overdone and came with a very tasteless brown sauce all over it. Huge mound of mashed potatoes to cover up minuscule vegetable serving. All of this made me suspicious that they are seriously cutting corners. Not sure about returning.
